We ordered the deep dish pizza which I would recommend against as it was all bread. When you're spending 30+ dollars on a pizza come on you guys give put some cheese and toppings. The flavors we're all good, there just wasn't enough of anything tomato sauce, toppings, and especially cheese. A Chicago deep dish pizza has a lot of cheese. This one didn't come close. The waiter and staff were friendly but service was slow due to volume. I would come again, but I wouldn't order the deep dish. Old Chicago is new to Rock Springs and has the potential to be a "must go" restaurant / pub in the area. The seating is plentiful and you have your choice of booths, tables, a large bar, or an outdoor patio. Most, if not all, have a good view of a television for sports addicts. The bar was my choice. Probably 30 beers on tap and a whole other selection of bottles and cans. They also have a full bar if cocktails are your choice. Beer choices are a wide variety and pretty much any beer drinker will find something they like. The menu was impressive. A lot of pizza choices and several sandwiches, salads, etc, if you aren't looking to carb load. This trip I tried the salmon. A little over cooked but I'm playing that off on being brand new. It may come around and be great food. Rock Springs needed a place like this. Not a lot of options for good bars / pubs without smoking. Drinks refilled when half empty, not when youre chewing ice cubes...food brought out hot and fresh, and they must have checked on us no fewer than 6 times. Passing thru and saw an Old Chicago. I was super excited because where I'm from we don't have Chicago pizza. I ordered to go from the bar. It's very dark inside but cute, a lot larger than I expected. The staff wasn't very friendly. It took about thirty minutes before I was even looked at. I tried a couple of beers. They were decent. Ordered a pizza and wings to go. At first bite the pizza was gooey and toppings were good. I then realized the dough wasn't cooked . Ranch dressing is amazing tho. We visited this sports bar on a Friday night for a quick bite. It's a nice sports bar and seems to be popular among locals. The menu was quite extensive and I was glad to see many vegetarian options. My husband ordered a burger, while I got buffalo roasted cauliflower. The cauliflower dish wasn't the best dish put together. The blue cheese, ranch and buffalo sauce didn't taste good together. My husband enjoyed his burger though. The service wasn't the best. Our server wasn't very attentive, but she was really nice. I got the buffalo wings! The wings were big and juicy. Not those tiny wings you get at Buffalo Wild Wings and other shoddy places. The ranch and blue cheese was definitely homemade and you could taste the difference. The sauces on the wings were spectacular. I had the screaming mango which was so delicious. I just ate those without the ranch. The sweet and smoky was amazing as well. My only concern is this place gets super busy. So, I needed more water as with wings you get thirsty. We usually stop in Rawlings, WY but today we decided to drive a little further and stopped in Rock Springs. I ate at an Old Chicago years ago and wasn't impressed but we decided to give it a second chance. It was good but not great. It's not far off the interstate and a nice restaurant. It was busy but we were able to get a table right away. We didn't wait long to be greeted by our waitress. The pizza others were having looked good so we tried it. My wife got the Tavern Thin Chicago 7 and I picked the same style calzone. The pizza was loaded with toppings. They did not skimp and they were fresh tasting. The dough for the calzone was more like pretzel dough and was good dipping in the marinara. (They should switch to Rao's marinara). We shared a Mediterranean salad. It was ok but needs a better tasting Greek dressing with more zing. We took half of our pizzas home and will enjoy them later. This pizza restaurant is very elegant. It's like a breath of fresh air, especially from going on a trip in the west parts of America. Keep in mind that the streets are busy with traffic and walking across the street requires skill and effort. Inside the restaurant you will find bright lights, nice shadows, and many strong colors. For my meal, I was starting off with Bavarian pretzel sticks. The Bavarian pretzel sticks are excellent, fine, and savory to respectable texture. It's one of the best pretzels you can get in America's west. But for my main meal I was really enjoying myself with their Chicago 7 Stromboli. Consider the Stromboli like it's a giant pizza sandwich! Very delicious, very savory. My refills of diet cola were helping me for the easy dining experience. There's a lot of space inside the restaurant. With enough space, I feel more comfortable with the environment after a long trip. The night was a good one for a good dinner. Waiters around the restaurant were pretty friendly and were assistive suggestions of care and help. There are hotels in this area of Wyoming although the streets can be tricky to navigate. The Stromboli was really packed with meat and sauce. It was a crunchy sandwich with a great deal of stuff. The Bavarian pretzel sticks included a rich cheese dip that was convenient for delicate plates. You can't miss the place! The place is easy to find at night. Most business locations in the area will have glowing lights leading up to Old Chicago Store. The pizza restaurant has a glowing red image. It's a place that specializes in drinks and finger foods, even if there's always utensils and easy-going manners. There's plenty of walking space in the restaurant and it's close to important options for a road trip. Stromboli really does taste like a pizza. Waffle fries with ranch might as well be separate from the giant pizza sandwich because of the strong ranch flavor and the hot, crispy texture of their own. The pretzel sticks were nice and salty. Everything was looking wonderful on my table. I was feeling quite exhausted from the road trip and I still feel the memory today. The restaurant has a big variety of drinks. I was careful about drinking during the road trip for safety reasons. A lot of people come to this restaurant and that helps with the vibrations of atmosphere and friendly noise. Went here due to the good Yelp reviews. It was crowded and the couple who entered before us was asked if a 15 minute wait would be ok with them. We stood right in front of the black & green haired hostess who refused to acknowledge us so we left. Tip to hostess: a smile and a kind greeting masks well your discrimination. If your behavior reflects the restaurant's policy in serving whites only, I propose putting a sign on the front door notifying travelers passing through. The only complaints I have are the entry service and environment. I went in for dinner last night, the restaurant was pretty full and we were asked to sit and wait for a table (even though many were empty.. and after a 5-10 minute wait we were seated at one of those empty tables) The menu was very big and had a lot of options. Ordered the Roasted Cauliflower but was informed that they were out, which was fine, so we switched our appetizer to the Artichoke dip. It came out 20 minutes after our meal and was mediocre at best. On their behalf they did comp the appetizer. We also order the chicken wings (they should be advertised as pigeon wings they were so damn small) which were HORRENDOUS. They were clearly precooked. We were Nearly an hour into visit to get our Italian Nachos and full hour for pizza. The nacho chips were burnt but cheese wasn't melted and toppings sparingly added. Pizza was hot, but meats were all burnt. Manager felt bad and gave us $25 off... thing is, we would happily pay full price with good service and good food. We won't be back to this location. I say this with a certain amount of gravitas as the 2011 Hot Wing Eating Champion of San Francisco (yes, it's on my resume); these wings are legitimately very good.
