This is a small Cheese store representing a Co-op of goat milk producers. They have a small area…read morebehind a window where you sometimes can see them making the cheese as well. Naturally, they specialize in Goat cheese. I've noticed that they strive hard to produce milder goat cheeses (no doubt to please the local palates). So if you prefer more subtle cheese, you've no need to fear this place. They do also have cows milk cheeses, and one or two sharper goat cheeses too, and don't forget your goat milk butter! Overall this is a good place to stop and get some cheese, but I haven't been blown away by any of their products myself. Still, it's tops in this neck of the woods, and worth a visit to support smaller family farms working together to make natural products.

I had the chicken salad, and it was absolutely delicious--unique, with a few surprise ingredients and a sweet chili drizzle that completely made it. I'll definitely be stealing that idea for my own chicken salad. I also ordered the smoked turkey cranberry hoagie for later. When I asked if it would be possible to have the bread on the side so it wouldn't get soggy, the team at the counter went above and beyond, individually wrapping all of the ingredients so I could put together a fresh sandwich for dinner. Such thoughtful customer service. I couldn't leave without trying the toffee pretzel cookie, and wow... it was to die for. I shared it with a few of the other team parents, and the first question was whether you sell them by the dozen! This will absolutely be a repeat stop every year for this tournament, and probably several times throughout our stay in Mauston. Great food, incredible customer service, a fresh produce stand in the back, and the cutest little shop filled with unique finds. Highly recommend!

Both fathers were thrilled with the gift, and they raved about the cheese curds (My husband and I descend from a long line of cheese curd fans.) 2nd - We happened to vacation 20 minutes from the store, so naturally, we stopped in. It was a cute little place with some cheese, honey, ice cream (Cedar Crest), other food items, and a bunch of decor items, The cheese we bought was good - sheep feta, cheese curds, grumpy goat, but the cheese curds were a little different than any fresh ones I've had before - not squeaky, kind of squashed. We enjoyed our visit and left with our hands full.
