Absolutely great place! Beautiful older building with great service and delicious food! We started the evening with the bbq pork nachos, a Stiflers mom lager, which had a mild tropical undertone and a great jalapeno flavor and a berry drink, I can't remember what it was called. The nachos were a great mix of flavors, salty, sweet and tangy. The pork was very tender. For the main attraction we ordered the vegan tacos and the shrimp tacos. I absolutely loved the vegan tacos! So much flavor in every bite! My wife said that the shrimp tacos were great also. After finishing the Stiflers mom I ordered a Puppy Teeth IPA, another great beer!

Excellent food and service and we will definitely go back. We shared the most delicious nachos. I had the fish and chips - so good. My husband had tacos and salad. Everything was delicious.

Really enjoyed the Dill Pickle Chips with the dill dip, definitely a must have starter! Good food and service. Very modern, a little pricey for smaller meals, nothing crazy - run of the mill.

I have eaten here before. Then service here has always been really good. They have a large inside bar and one outside as well. Plenty of seating in and out and can easily accommodate groups. There is actually a room that can be easily used for a private group setting. Today we had a dog with us so we ate out in the patio. We were not the only ones with dogs. At least two other couples brought their furry friends with them. Yay! My husband ordered a beer and we split a salad and a side of Brussels sprouts. The Brussels here are excellent and the side is plenty and only 5 bucks. We chose the southwestern salad. Its what I usually get. Lits of sliced chicken, fresh avocado, beans, corn, tomatoes and the perfect amount of cheese. They make their own dressing and their ranch is so good. Highly recommend both the salad and the Brussels. Fun place to go with dogs.

This is a cool place for a meal... We happened to be in Delaware and decieded to give them a try. The service was awesome and the staff was super friendly. The interior is really cool wetha kind of that rustic decor going on. I had their house burger with the chips - burger was great - the chips were awesome. Wifie really enjoyed their steak salad but she had the substitute chicken for the steak. The Old Dog Alehouse is worth the trip to Delaware.

Great place to come in from the sun. We were able to try a few sample beers along with the charcuterie board. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Seems like a great place to work. Plenty of seating inside and out. Thanks for the great service and the food was delicious. I plan on coming back. It's worth the trip.

My favorite part about this place is the dogs all over the walls & they have a cork board that you can bring pictures of your own dogs and hang up there! I got the Korean steak tacos and I'm still dreaming of the taste, it was a-ma-zinnggg!!! My husbands fish was thick and full of flavor & the crunch of the batter was perfect. My butter toffee martini was extra sweet, just how I like it!!! Our waitress was on a roll the whole time we were there, taking our orders, making our drinks & cleaning non stop! They don't have a parking lot, you have to park on the street. It was 6° when we went and no parking available on that street so we had a crucial walk in and out- just giving a heads up!

Flights were good, I especially enjoyed the IPA that had a slight pineapple taste. The service was good and the bar area had nice decor. The cheeseburger was average.

Wonderful outdoor patio, it was too hot when we visited but there was plenty of seating inside. We stopped in for lunch to grab a beer and some food. We opted for the half salad and half sandwich which we always enjoy and the chicken salad was so unique and delicious. Also love that they sell cupcakes we could take home to our fur babies.

    Steak Frites

Very enjoyable dinner at Old Dog. We sat on the patio since we had our own old dog with us. Had a couple of beers including a mango/jalapeño infused beer. All delicious. Old Dog burger was FANTASTIC as was the steak and frites. Very good service not one complaint or issue.

I've been here a few times and keep meaning to leave my review. There's no time like the present! My husband and I stopped in last night and took our seats at the bar. We were promptly greeted by the lovely bartender, Linda. She was super friendly and quick with service. We weren't quite sure what we wanted to drink so she gave us some beer samples to try as we contemplated our selection. I opted for the Nor'Easter which is a juicy IPA. Very good! For dinner, I ordered the Classic Burger with Parmesan fries--super yummy! The decor in this place is Farmhouse style and all about the 4-legged floofs that we all know and love-- hence the name "Old Dog". It's a great vibe with a nice menu selection. My daughter loves the Steak Frites, and my husband raves about the Fried Shrimp Tacos. There is something for everyone. In the Summer, enjoy your beverage and meal on their covered patio! Last night was a real treat with getting an added history lesson of the building, which is one of the originals to D-town - which was founded in 1808. Linda even shared a ghost story with us and added its how one of their beers got her name (Rosa's Haze)! This brewery has been the most successful business to exist since it was The Little Brown Jug. Serving the community for 5 years and going strong! If you get the chance, stop by and show this Old Dog some love!

Our server, Tony, deserves his own fan club. He was the perfect combination of kind, attentive, and genuinely funny--the type of person who could probably convince you to order a shoe if it came with the chef's balsamic reduction. Speaking of which, I had the filet medallions with said reduction, and let me just say: if I could marry a sauce, this would be "the one." My friend ordered the scallops with risotto, and she ate every last grain of rice like she was guarding treasure. Special shoutout to Matt, the manager, who went above and beyond to accommodate my many food allergies without making me feel like "that" customer. Instead, he treated it like a fun culinary puzzle to solve. Food? Phenomenal! Service? Flawless! Atmosphere? Just the right mix of cool and comfortable. Regrets? Only that I didn't take a picture... but that just means I have to go back.

The service has been hit or miss. First time in the server kept going back to the kitchen to figure out the bourbon flight I picked. Not the biggest issue, but you'd think they'd be more prepared to handle bourbon requests. The second time I sat at the bar and waited ten minutes before leaving when nobody would serve me (place wasn't crowded, the two bartenders just ignored me). Last interaction was to reach out asking if they had a certain bottle in stock. I thought it was a harmless request, asking a bourbon bar if they planned on getting a certain bourbon. They seemed offended I was asking. I was really hoping this could be a cool, casual place to sit and talk whiskey with folks, but the service left a bad impression.

Servers are friendly, you can watch the cooks prepare your food, and they have a full bar. Note they dont have many draft beer options, but servers tried hard to get us something we liked. It's piled high with shredded brisket and rib meat, all mixed in their BBQ sauce, then topped with housemade pickles and crispy onion straws on a soft bun. It's messy in the best possible way. Smoky, saucy, savory -- every bite delivered. I made it a combo and added fresh-cut French fries and an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade, half iced tea). The fries came out piping hot and clearly fresh from the fryer -- crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Exactly what you want. The Arnold Palmer was refreshing and balanced, not overly sweet, which paired perfectly with all that BBQ goodness. One thing I really appreciate here is the sauce bar. There's a variety of BBQ sauces available so you can customize every bite to your liking -- sweet, smoky, spicy, tangy -- whatever mood you're in. And bonus: the housemade pickles are free for the asking. If you're a pickle fan like me, that's a win. Overall, tasty sandwich, hot fresh fries, solid drink, and plenty of sauce options to make it your own.
