It is kind of time to update since it's been seven years. It's no longer that tiny, crowded taproom. Now it's a tap SPACE. Big, roomy, patios with fire pits. Food trucks. Still crowded parking. Several TVs are along the walls, and they're always hosting events, groups, and trivia. I've been coming here for seven years, and watched their beers go from "we have some solid recipes" to "we are trying some things" and they have a nice stable of locals. As someone that prefers the "out there" beers, they keep things a little different so nothing feels like a "stock" beer here. One of my favorite small breweries. I come back over and over for the darker beers, but they have a nice variety for everyone. They will let you sample until you find the perfect beer for you. I love how friendly the staff is and that it's never too loud. They have plenty of TVs to watch sports both inside and outside. The fire pit is great for chilly days. You're welcome to bring your own food in. It's close to several great restaurants that will also deliver. Trivia on Tuesdays! My other favorite thing is that they support many other small local businesses. Nice brewery in uptown Marysville. I visited a few days ago and the space is wide open with plenty of seating including an outdoor patio in the back. Ill Mannered Brewing is another central Ohio brewery. It's been around awhile and recently moved into a bigger place. One thing that hasn't changed are that the beers are good. It has room to expand its draft list. They look to be starting more beers next year. It had operated in a small facility in a strip mall. It didn't have much to hang around in. That's been remedied with the move to the bigger facility. It's literally a couple hundred feet away. The new place is impressive. It has a modern looking bar. The interior is metallic and white. I had the Ill Manna Cranda. It's about $6 for a pint. This isn't sweet like you may think. It has a light fruity taste with a bit of bite. The fruit makes it not as hoppy. It has taken a big step in the competition. It has one of the impressive taprooms around. They often have a food truck with something like barbecue usually. read more

The staff of this suburban micro is not rude, even if their Covid precautionary measures is a little confusing. They warmly directed us through the rope up to their makeshift ordering window with cute giggles and smiles. So, no boorish behavior here, but the beer is damn right beautifully brutish. Ill Manner, founded in 2015, is on the curve of Grace Drive, Powell in a 3,000 sg/ft beer garden recently constructed where they have moved to from the small strip mall space to its west. Of course, because of the unmannerly bug running amuck, inside seating is not available. Instead they have courteously supplied outside seating for about 80 people, with picnic tables and parasol socially distanced, and a pair of Adirondack chairs out street side. Not to be impertinent but the view out is nowhere near scenic. But it will do for now to taste the joint's superb concoctions. They offer 20 some of their house made taps, quest beers and cider, wines, spirits and coffee. They have some house made food but they also allow food trucks to park on certain days. Seven Little Sliders, Redwood Wagon, and Rick's Rock'n BBQ are often here. Check their calendar for availability. I sipped on their 38 Minutes, ($6) a West Coast IPA that has that smooth texture over hippie kicks. I also tried their double IPA, Palate Fatigue ($7) a delicious mixup with an uncivil knockout. Both are pure quality and will have me coming back, if in the Powell environs, to sample more of their micros. I am especially looking forward to when normalcy comes again and they service them not in a plastic cup, ugg, damn you Coronavirus will your indignities ever end! TL/DR--Another good micro in the area you will leave them not so ill mannered. read more

We found a cozy spot in an area that is really their storage room/ where the vats are. It was a very windy night so it was warm and seemed quiet. They had a game on and people got really loud. So it was nice to be tucked away in the back. We enjoyed a pleasant date where we relaxed and were able to hear each other above all the noise. Maybe it's not noisy all the time. We will have to go back in the summer and enjoy the outdoor seating. I like how they have such a large selection of craft beers. The service seemed friendly and efficient. We witnessed a strange and humorous thing, a customer was taking pictures and actually walked around behInd the bar to take more and got up close and personal with the bartender! They had to ask her to get out from behind the bar. He did it in a professional way. Impressive! read more

Ill Mannered has a new space! It literally shares a parking lot with the old space, but the inside is so open and they have a nice patio. They also have more beers on tap and a nice selection. A great local Powell spot! They have an awesome patio with multiple umbrella covered picnic tables as well as TVs. Great indoor seating as well with many TVs. This is the absolute best craft brewery in Central Ohio! I've been to most and IMB just does it better than the rest!! I've yet to try a beer that that is not excellent and their service is always friendly and fast. Ugh. I hit this place because it was on the Columbus Ale trail. I am hoping that I just chose the wrong beer (Powell You in the Eye), but I could not get past the sewage smell of it. I love IPA's and Pale Ale's but that one needs some serious re-tooling for it to remain viable on the menu. Also, my friend purchased the Orange cider and did not care for it either. Maybe we just made wrong choices off the menu? There was a BBQ food truck parked outside. We did not try it. So, cannot make a comment. BBQ and beer are a good combo, IMO, though. So, kudos for that set-up! Acoustically, they had some issues. There were accoustic panels on the walls near the ceiling. It was still incredibly loud. I would try this place again for the BBQ but would definitely ask for a sample taste of a few beers before making my ale purchase. read more

I am shocked by how amazing this brewery is! We went today randomly on the way home to check it out and we were both shocked at how much we loved every single beer we tried in a flight. The beers are diverse, constantly rotating, and all phenomenal. The brewery has 4 owners and are all hardworking and knowledgeable in the process of creating all their beers. This may possibly become my favorite Columbus brewery, which is saying a lot because I ADORE Zaftig and land grant. If Ill Mannered got to-go beers other than growlers they would instantly be my favorite, but as of now they will only fill growlers. Stopped here on the way to a wedding reception to get our stamp for the ale trail. Its a VERY small location, a few seats outside on the sidewalk, and maybe 12 seats inside (some of which are at the bar). It was pretty busy when we showed up so we just stood until a table became available. The inside is pretty cool. Since its so small, all the brewing equipment is literally right there. RIGHT THERE. Kind of fun. There was only one guy working, although I'm assuming thats the norm with how small of a space it is. I overheard him saying there are plans to open another location down the road and it sounded pretty cool. I tried the ill manna shanda(y?), which was a lot like the leinenkugel summer shandy, except arguably better. It has a way more lemony taste to it, and even bits of lemon floating in it. Would certainly recommend. I also tried some of my partners Blueberry Muffin Top which was a milkshake IPA I believe. It was also good. Not as blueberry-y to me as other blueberry beers I've had but not bad. We're excited to see what the new location looks like. Fingers crossed for more seating! read more

This was my first time here. I am not a beer drinker but they do have 3 or 4 wines which may come in a can, not sure about that but my sangria came in a can, which was pretty good . My son and I came here to check out the lobster food truck that was there. It was a nice place and has a patio. They were busy , very little parking spaces so have to park else where. Stopped here on our spontaneous brewery hopping road trip. Place is awesome! We ended up playing a game of chess which was fun, found a few new beers we liked and got dog treats. Here's the thing - if you've chosen to be carry out only that's perfectly fine. If you have only outdoor seating and have fire to keep us warm while there's literally a state winter storm warning - it's getting a little sketchy. If you shout at me from a partially open door set up for only carry out (let people in to take carry out) when you have signs indicating you're open for regular seating, I've decided I don't care how pretty the chalk font is. First of all, it blows my mind that Powell has a microbrewery! That's fantastic. This place was easy to get to, but the parking situation isn't the best. We came here in the middle of the day, so we didn't have any issues, but I can't imagine being here on a Friday or Saturday night. I began my beer tasting journey with their Hopracha IPA. It was exactly what I figured it would be. Aggressively hopped and bitter, but it had decent flavor. Their Malt Tank (Scottish) was quite sippable and their Smooth Jazz was, by far, the winner of the day. Both Nina and I were enamored. It was so incredibly smooth! Some of their other beers just didn't quite measure up. Not to say that they're bad, but I think that some of the recipes need a little tweaking. As this brewery is still relatively new, I have no doubt they'll only get better with time. read more

Wow! I have had this place bookmarked for a long time and I'm not happy that I waited this long to try it out. We had a flight to try a variety of their beers and we were happy with all of them! I love when a craft brewery ventures into trying a lager. Their lager was crisp, refreshing and had tons of flavor. The service was also extraordinary! They have a rotating calendar of food trucks on weekends and allow you to bring your own food if you want. All in all I would highly recommend. Small space but worth it! read more

I'm a girl and yes I drink beer. Went here for the first time a few weekends ago with a group of friends to support this new local business. I totally enjoyed it and can't wait to head back. They have great beer to choose from with a super nice staff ready to serve and get to know you. I like that they have a good variety to choose from which is obviously great for all kinds of beer lovers. I tried the sampler and I liked then alllll which doesn't happen often. My fav was the blonde though, what a looker and tasted so good ;). The Free snacks while you drink was a good touch because God only knows how much I need those when I'm drinking beer. Loved the fact that it felt like we were hanging out at a friend's house just drinking and having a good time. Also, they have this glass blown mug instillation on one of the walls which is super cool. I forgot to ask if they sold them but next time I go I will certainly buy a couple.
