We stopped by Spires Social Brewing during a weekend getaway and really enjoyed our visit. Parking was easy thanks to the large lot, which is always a plus. I ordered a flight of four drinks and loved that I could mix and match between beers and ciders to create my own tasting experience. Everything I tried was enjoyable. The outdoor patio was the highlight of my visit. It overlooks a beautiful pond and creates such a peaceful atmosphere. There were also two outdoor fireplaces, and the bartender was kind enough to light them for us, making the space feel even more cozy and relaxing. The brewery has a great vibe overall--comfortable, welcoming, and perfect for spending an afternoon unwinding. As a bonus, they had the most gigantic skeleton displayed inside that I've ever seen. It immediately caught my attention, and now I'm convinced I need one for Halloween! Great drinks, friendly service, and a beautiful setting. I'd definitely visit again. read more

I was on a work trip here and stopped in. I was very impressed with their beer selection. I tried many different types and enjoyed them very well. The Cookie Monster was so incredibly good. I also enjoyed tropical manatee. I had their wings and they were incredible. The service I had was excellent. I loved that many of the people were known to the bartender so it made it feel more like a great hangout. read more

We found spire social a few years ago on a trip to Columbus and really enjoyed it. On our way up yesterday, we were very excited to try it again and unfortunately were very disappointed. My husband ordered a west coast IPA and it was very very sweet and just didn't taste like a west coast. We also stopped for snacks. I wanna preface this that we understand they're not a restaurant and just sell like snacks, but the pretzel we got was basically inedible. We ate the parts we could but it was so incredibly hard. Then the cheese they gave us was cold with a nice crust around the ridges. However the mustard is the best mustard we've had with taproom so it was just a bunch of inconsistencies because the Mac and cheese bites were bomb too. Bartender was extremely kind. Would def say give this place a shot for beer, skip the pretzel for snacks. read more

This used to be an Irish Pub. I think it was Fado's. It was a close-by HUGE pub that I loved. Evidently the area didn't love it, since it didn't survive. Now, part of the old space is a brewery. And I am okay with that. Unfortunately, it's a rainy day, which means I don't get to enjoy the awesome patio - it's huge, with a fire pit, and heaters, with the original iron and stone fence. I've been here a few times now - and the beer is good - and getting better. They have a great spot, they always have good music playing, so I'll keep coming back and supporting them. read more

Was in the area and saw that this brewery was close by to where we had dinner. It was a Monday night and cold so there was no one there except us. They have super reasonable priced beer and a great atmosphere. I can't wait for warmer weather because their patio is gorgeous and overlooks Chase's pond. I'm not a beer person, but they have a cocktail list along with non alcoholic drinks. I tried their house made root beer and wow!! So yummy! Matt was our bartender and was knowledgeable about the cocktails and alcohol. He said he has been working on the "Polaris" recipe and let us try some. Loved loved loved! He made our experience so much better. They also have Bob Ross' painting show on so we could easily sit there for a while to watch. read more

Don't be fooled by the location in a shopping center near Polaris. Wait until you enter, then you see what they've done with the space, and the patio out back!! We sat on the patio on a chilly night and had a beer recently, but the atmosphere was so appealing with the water right next to it, the lights, and of course the fireplace! The beer was great and I look forward to coming back to tasting more soon. I also love how friendly the staff is. One of the owners was cleaning tables and keeping things looking nice. I can tell they put a lot of thought and work into the details of making this place feel home-y, festive, and welcoming. I can't wait to support this new brewery again. Next time, I'll have time to do a full flight and I'll remember my growler! And hopefully the weather will allow us some more patio days soon! read more

We are so lucky to live in an area with a plethora of great breweries to choose from. I found Spires Social Brewing on Yelp. The reviews were stellar and Yelp has never really lead me astray. So my husband and I headed out to Spires Social on an early Sunday afternoon. The space is full of concrete and the ceiling is high, making the space feel open. It was a generic feel like so many other breweries you see. The sound was loud even though there were very few customers in the brewery. I ordered a flight of beers and we settled in to a table. I was hopeful and excited. As I made my way through the flight I just kept saying how thin the beers were. They did not possess the mouthfeel that I am a fan or that I have come accustomed to with all the amazing beers in Columbus. By the time I finished by flight I was disappointed. I truly had higher expectations since Spires Social is rated so highly. I do believe that everyone has different tastes and maybe this brewery is just not for me, but it is for a lot of other people. What a gem! I discovered Spires Social beer this year and the beer + atmosphere is awesome. Part of Columbus' Ale Trail, it's chill and laidback and the staff is top notch. They've got trivia on Tuesdays and live music and food trucks throughout the week. You're welcome to bring your own food or order delivery--in fact it's encouraged. (They do not serve food in-house--only handmade sodas, beer, mead, wine and liquors!) My go to beers are Sandy Cheeks and Impeachable. With so many options of great breweries here in the Columbus area, I just can't justify ever returning here. The beer was fine, the service was fine, the venue was clean and well taken care of, however, the selection was not great and the noise level was out of control. No ambiance at all. There was live music in a very echo-prone space (concrete floors) which made it impossible to talk or hang out with friends. Which is what I generally want to do at a brewery. Also, and I know you're supposed to order beer at a brewery, but I just wasn't in the mood for one, so I asked for a cocktail. Usually when there are spirits clearly displayed behind the bar, I expect to at least see a couple of drinks to choose from. Alas, no drinks other to choose from besides beer. *sigh* I asked what could be made, and just settled for a vodka-cran. Maybe the noise level isn't so bad when the patio is open, but for someone like me (who is pretty easy overstimulated) this is not a vibe. read more

Great beer and ambiance, but from the reviews, I thought that it was completely dog friendly. We showed up on a pretty cool evening with our dog, but were informed that dogs are permitted only on the patio. They did let us sit inside near the patio, since it was so cold, and we were already there. Unless it's a nice warm day, it's better to leave your dog at home. read more

Spires is yet another good brewery in the central Ohio area. It opened last week, and I was able to stop in briefly today. They have several good brews of their own, and lots of guest beers. There was a seasonal cocktail, Ghoul's Blood, blue with rum and pineapple. Plus, they have a lineup of pop: ginger ale right now, and root beer coming soon. There's a nice big patio, and a decent sized dining, er, drinking room inside. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Prices look reasonable. I tried the Black is Beautiful stout, a limited edition brew. It was very smooth and yet full flavored. I'll be back for the root beer, and other brews. read more

Can't believe I'm just hearing about this brewery, especially since there aren't many in this part of town. Spires is small at the moment - they only brew about 5 of their own beers but they have an amazing selection of guest brews. I absolutely loved the Christmas Ale but didn't get a picture because it was being enjoyed :) They're going a great job with distancing and cleaning tables and chairs between guests. There's also multiple bathrooms - something more breweries need honestly. They have some chips and small snacks but if you're looking for a meal you'll need to get it from one of the many food spots surrounding the brewery. read more

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a Pilsner and a Hefeweizen that were brewed in house. They were both excellent. Spires Social has a lovely outdoor patio that overlooks a lake with plenty of seating as well as indoor seating. They have pretzels and flatbreads on their menu and a popcorn popper. The popcorn and big pretzel were great with the beer. We had a fun afternoon connecting with family. There's also gourmet sodas for those who don't like beer. I hosted my bridal shower at Spires & it was awesome! The owners, Alex & Megan, are super friendly and let us turn the space into how we needed for our event. They allowed us to bring outside food which was great and gave us a lot of flexibility. The drinks were fantastic and my guests loved the large variety and choices they had! Overall a great experience and they would definitely be a brewery I'd recommend everyone check out! They even have a large Skully the Skeleton who keeps the bar lively! read more

What a great little brewery. There is an amazing patio outdoor space, with space heaters, fire pits and a fireplace. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the pumpkin ale, and the pumpkin bourbon cocktail they offered. They have flights available, and while no food they suggest places close by. Amazing that this is the only brewery anywhere near Polaris. I'm glad they finally opened (delayed by COVID) They host seasonal events like ornament making and regular weekly events like trivia night. It's a great place for a good beer, and to catch a game, hang out with friends or to just relax after a long day. If you end up staying through a meal time, you can order delivery from anywhere that delivers and eat it there while enjoying an great craft beer. I can definitely see myself becoming a regular here.
