My best friend told me about this place. Always in her bbqs she buy their shiskabab box and it's very nice. They have a nice box with a great amount for a good price. It is perfect cause it is ready to go to the grill. The store is clean and the staff is really nice. They make you wait a little while as they are talking amongst themselves and some random ppl Round the store. So come in with some time to stand around. Super friendly staff and clean shop. I'm really surprised there wasn't a long line where I got here considering they offer a wide variation of meat for very reasonable prices. I got a porterhouse steak (little over 1lb) for $15 and 3 ribeyes (little over 1lb) for $49. They also carry some great quality chicken shish kabobs. This is my new FAVORITE butcher in my neighborhood! The moment I walked in, the butcher was super friendly and amazingly helpful (not to mention humorous). I needed some items for my friend's BBQ and I picked up some spicy Italian sausages and marinated beef kebabs. WOW! After they were grilled, both were EXTREMELY flavorful. Not dry whatsoever. A close friend worked for this butcher and he was asked to clean the chicken with bleach ????? This is now the second butcher on the empty stretch of Steinway right above Astoria Blvd. I was recently hunting for lamb chops, and Star Meat Market (see my previous review) happened to have a funky smell going on that day so I decided to try this place. I left very satisfied. The butcher was very friendly, and offered me a few different deals based on how much I bought. While I was browsing, a van pulled up outside. Someone went to meet it with what appeared to be a Target shopping cart. When the cart was pushed back in, it was filled to the brim with animal carcasses pointed every which way. This shop is great. Despite moving a train stop and many streets away, we would always jump at the chance to swing by here. The butchers are wonderful, remember you, and remember your orders. Their kabobs (chicken and lamb) are my favorite. They have pork too, and beef I believe, but I have not tried them. Their steaks here are better quality than what you'd receive ordering at a steakhouse, but you just need to know how to grill them, or know someone who loves to grill and you are set. Swing by here before any BBQ or if you have a hankering for the meat sweats. a excellent butcher shop that was recommended by a family friend and a smart move on my part to give it a try. again astoria has another fine business worth the trip while i do some shopping in area . this butcher shop is on steinway st right off astoria blvd off the main section but minutes from grand central parkway , the rfk bridge and a 10 minute walk from the n train . the place is clean and organized with a large glass counter display of assorted meats from beef, pork. chicken, veal , lamb, etc, all set up and priced just right. the staff are a friendly bunch and prepare your order quickly and know what they are doing . i highly recommend the sausages and lamb which seem to be a favorite of many customers who were inside ordering a variety of fresh meats . the chicken, lamb, and beef kebab on the skewer which is ready to be put on the grill is stacked thick and will not disappoint . this place is worth the trip for good quality and for cost, another good reason to visit astoria queens is the old fashion butcher shop. p.s. picked up a few pounds of lamb gyro meat for the weekend and should have ordered more, it's that good. read more

saw their ad on the paper - drove all the way from ozone park. tried the ox tail, beef kebob, burgers, and pork chops. this shop is definitely one of the top 3 shops i have ever been in. quality is better than expected and the prices can not be beat when they have a sale. it is cheaper than most chinese butcher shops in flushing. the kebobs are 1 dollar each and if you get 25 sticks; they charge you 23 bucks. i cant refuse a good sale if i see one. they are very tasty; especially with tzatziki and halal red sauce - on pita bread. definitely tastes better than whatever the halal guys can come up with. and if you call ahead; they will get whatever kind of meat you request. my goto butcher for big purchases; it is a long drive after all. but definitely worth it. read more
