Boise East-Enders are so lucky to have this cute little neighborhood market and cafe! If this was located in a bigger city, it would have a line out the door everyday. But that's the great thing about Boise- every day luxuries are just way more accessible. I came by on a Saturday morning and picked up a few coffees and somethings for our long drive + camping trip we were heading to right after. We picked up beef jerky, protein bars, chia seed puddings, banana bread, and even some pre-mixed canned cocktails. I also picked up their East-ender sandwich with turkey, havarti, pickles, and mustard. They offered to heat it up but I knew I was going to save it for a bit and eat it somewhere along our journey-- so I got it cold. It held up very well on their sesame roll. I knew it was going to be a long day so I ordered an iced Americano for myself and an iced vanilla latte -- the much needed caffeine boost! What really makes this spot 5-stars is the whole vibe. This is my favorite spot to frequent in the East end of Boise. It is the cutest little market, offering sandwiches, salads, and my favorite affogatos. They also have a variety of wines to choose from. They offer some indoor and outdoor seating. It is located in a neighborhood so it offers a very homey feel. Ya know, I really loved the old Roosevelt Market. So when I initially visited the market in the new shiny form, I had a bit of an attitude about it. After a few experiences here and sitting with my thoughts for a bit, what a MAGNIFICENT thing happening here! And I can now say, it really is a special space even after being saved. I am so glad that the known local family saved this gem. While it is shiny and updated from what was there before, it still has the same neighborhood vibe it use to. AND dare I say it, with an additional new vibe added. People from across the near neighborhoods walk in and out of the door with ice cream, with a beer for the patio, with a freshly cooked sandwich (amazing sandwiches). The place is still the staple of the neighborhood. Expect to find great wine options, beer options, non-alcoholic options, fresh bread, maybe a small grocery item you forgot from the big boxed grocery stores. This is a genuine modern mercantile that probably has something for everyone. There is a small amount of patio sitting (maybe even next door, chairs galore with a yard sign but I am not sure if they are connected to the market), small amount of indoor sitting, and a ton of space for that positive neighborhood energy. Clean, simple, and yet, lots of options. I understand this is easier to make a destination if it is in your neighborhood but take my advice, doesn't matter where you live in Boise (or if you are visitor), make this a choice for a simple and sweet place to gather with a friend or even a date!! read more

They did a lovely job of updating 1900'ish built building inside and out. Inside tables all standard height and a couple look as if usable by customers in wheelchairs. However, when people are seated at tables the chairs are close together and do not provide ADA required 36" of clear space between. Unisex loo via accessible ramp (bravo) but a long hinged bench (probably used for storage) would block access to sink for wheelchair user. No useable outdoor seating for disabled guests as picnic bench tables not accessible. (I have had multiple sclerosis since college days so I pay attention to equal access.) Can't beat this place for lunch - veggie options, amazing sandwiches and salads...not too pricey for the portions you get. No notes!

For fans of Certified, this place is a good alternative in the East End (same owners). The drinks are good. I've tried both housemade syrups and they're delicious. My only piece of feedback on that would be both times they were made incorrectly, but I still drank them because they were good. They have the same selection of books and other quick grab drinks as Certified. The best part is there is a small area next door for kids to play. I also grabbed a book from the "brain candy" book stand right outside - the thing that looks like a tootsie roll! It's walking distance from Kristin Armstrong, which makes it a perfect followup to a run/walk/workout in the park. read more

We were fortunate to have met Austin. That young man is great. He has a future of success. He should be part of the planning and training group of investors of this market. Had the kale apple salad. Didn't taste great.. then I realized when I was almost done that they forgot my apples. Went back a second time and tried sandwiches. They were okay. Food is great, just like all the other restaurants in the Wylder. The market and seating is not child-friendly, which made the experience of eating in very unenjoyable and hard to manage. The food and drink items are easily accessible for toddler hands and there weren't any high-chairs. I recommended getting at least a couple booster seats and moving the candy and wine up a bit. read more

Love this little market and cafe for breakfast when we visit a good friend in Boise. It's literally a walk down the street. They have the best, and biggest breakfast burritos that I have ever witnessed. The potatoes are heavenly. They also serve great coffee, lattes, and teas. Then there's the fresh donuts and pastries. They have great quiche every morning and cook regular breakfasts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I personally love their breakfast burrito. This is an awesome little old-fashioned neighborhood market with beer (on draft and to go), wine, snacks, candy, soda, and deli sandwiches. There is a great little patio outside where dogs are welcome. There is also a playground across the street where you can watch your kids play while you eat and drink. Such a cute little market out by warm springs blvd. Upon walking up, you can tell that this is a neighborhood market frequented by many of the same people. That doesn't mean you aren't welcome to hang, because everyone is friendly and looking to invite others into their conversations. Much of this comradery happens on their front patio area. This area spans the width of the wide sidewalk and has 10 or so tables, chairs, and umbrellas. It seems to be the place to go after work for a beer or two, chat with friends and let your kids play. Inside, they have all the basics (chips, beer, candy, etc.) and some added amenities like made-to-order sandwiches, old-fashioned candies and hot nuts, donuts and pastries. Yes, you could have lunch downtown but why not enjoy the day, take a stroll and head on over to this great little independent market across the street from Roosevelt Elemetary School in the Warm Springs neighborhood serving great sandwiches! Fill out one of their sandwich slips that let you choose your meat, spread, cheese, bread, veggies and sides (and indicate whether you're eating there or taking it to go). Grab a rhubarb or blood orange soda from the cold case and you're ready to go. A great neighborhood market with cans spaggettios and other snacks and affordable bottles of wine lining the wall. Pleasant informal little jumbled-up grocery/ deli place to stop in for lunch or a snack. The sandwiches are good, and their selection of refrigerated soft drinks is interesting. One thing that bothers me a little about this place is the presence of dogs. The guy who was making sandwiches actually had his dog behind the counter with him, which must surely be unsanitary! While I was there, another customer came in with a dog, and had to leave because the two dogs couldn't get along. I am pretty sure that by Boise health codes, neither should have been there. read more

The food is homemade and delicious and the people are kind and welcoming. They have both beer and food and even some grocery store items.
