Neighborhood friendly. It's the kind of coffee shop every coffee shop wants to be.

I almost don't want to review this place because it's so awesome and it's going to get even more crowded - but this is one of the best vibes in Boise. Great coffee, amazing lunch offerings, and unique market finds. This place is amazing!

    Order area either menu.

Quick and quaint little neighborhood spot we found thru Yelp. Visiting from Vancouver WA. Great Roots chips with my Cubano sandwich. Family friendly with lots if kids snd parents stopping by on a Sunday afternoon. Guve it a go for a quick sandwich or salad. Desserts are good too.

For just the chocolate chip cookie alone, the Roosevelt Market deserves 5 . They also have breakfast burritos and a daily soft serve (today was a blueberry lemon). Very cute inside seating and nice seating outside overlooking The roosevelt elementary school

Ya know, I really loved the old Roosevelt Market. So when I initially visited the market in the new shiny form, I had a bit of an attitude about it. After a few experiences here and sitting with my thoughts for a bit, what a MAGNIFICENT thing happening here! And I can now say, it really is a special space even after being saved. I am so glad that the known local family saved this gem. While it is shiny and updated from what was there before, it still has the same neighborhood vibe it use to. AND dare I say it, with an additional new vibe added. People from across the near neighborhoods walk in and out of the door with ice cream, with a beer for the patio, with a freshly cooked sandwich (amazing sandwiches). The place is still the staple of the neighborhood. Expect to find great wine options, beer options, non-alcoholic options, fresh bread, maybe a small grocery item you forgot from the big boxed grocery stores. This is a genuine modern mercantile that probably has something for everyone. There is a small amount of patio sitting (maybe even next door, chairs galore with a yard sign but I am not sure if they are connected to the market), small amount of indoor sitting, and a ton of space for that positive neighborhood energy. Clean, simple, and yet, lots of options. I understand this is easier to make a destination if it is in your neighborhood but take my advice, doesn't matter where you live in Boise (or if you are visitor), make this a choice for a simple and sweet place to gather with a friend or even a date!!

    Re-opened new owners April 2022

RE OPENED APRIL 2022 after closing in December 2018 (see my previous review). Current operators are the folks who own Certified Bakery & Kitchen in the North End and The Wylder near downtown. They did a lovely job of updating 1900'ish built building inside and out. They are offering a very small menu of breakfast and lunch items as well as some market convenience items. https://www.idahostatesman.com/news/business/article260323715.html THE DRILL: Order at counter from menu that is overhead and printed on paper. (Also online. See link below.). Coffee beverages, teas, breakfast items, a couple of sandwiches, a couple of salads, a couple of sweets that are Certified Kitchen & Bakery favs (like starchip cookies). They'll call your name when your order is ready to pick up at counter. Some seating inside and out if you want to eat there. Very friendly service. MENU: https://www.therooseveltmarket.com/menu INTERIOR: Light, bright, welcoming. Small fridge / freezer on one wall with a small selection of chilled beverages, ice cream bars and similar. A small produce selection across from it with apples, pears, garlic and so on. Walls have displays of candy, pasta, jarred sauces, jams, wine, mixed hard drinks (think G&T) in cans, cookbooks, wrapping paper. Tables and chairs for inside seating are so tight for space when people are sitting in them that it is difficult to get to many of the items displayed. IF I WERE QUEEN: I would bid them add Certified's incredible English muffins to the line up of products for sale in the store and also some of their equally delicious frozen take-away meal items, like lasagna, chicken pot pie, soups, to the freezer. OUTSIDE SEATING: Picnic tables in front. ONE & DONE: We are fans of the other businesses of these same owners but while fun to see this one our salad ($12) was disappointing. Surprised us because the other ventures by these folks make inarguably among the best salads in Boise. But I imagine with such limited size most of the food has to be brought in from the other kitchen(s) to serve here. This is a hike from our house and not something we'll commute to as destination. But if we lived in this East End neighborhood it could be fun for pop in from time to time. LOCATION: Right across the street from Roosevelt school playground. ACCESSIBILITY: For visitors with mobility disabilities: this is all one one level inside with clear path of travel to order counter. Inside tables all standard height and a couple look as if usable by customers in wheelchairs. However, when people are seated at tables the chairs are close together and do not provide ADA required 36" of clear space between. Unisex loo via accessible ramp (bravo) but a long hinged bench (probably used for storage) would block access to sink for wheelchair user. No useable outdoor seating for disabled guests as picnic bench tables not accessible. (I have had multiple sclerosis since college days so I pay attention to equal access.) PARKING: Neighborhood street.

Good place to get a beer and sandwich. Wouldn't really consider it much of a market but does carry a few items for local neighbors.

I think the time before that was to grab a sandwich from the deli for my husband. Conveniently, my hubby wanted a snack so I stopped in to see what I could grab for him. I saw a gentleman pull some fresh pepperoni pizza out of the brick oven. That was my sign to grab my husband a couple slices, he loves pizza. The gentleman helped a couple guests ahead of me. He greeted me but realized he was out of gloves. So, he went to the back to grab some and the gal who was starting the dough stepped in to help me. She asked if i wanted some pizza and of course I said yes. Looking at the pizza, there was no real rhyme or reason to how they sliced it. All the slices were different in size. Not one is the same. One huge slice, many smaller slices and some slivers. I asked her if 2 smaller slices count as 1. She said yes. I wanted a total of 2 big slices. I was in the middle of asking her and was cut off cause I didn't answer her if I wanted pepperoni or Hawaiian. I was literally trying to talk her that I wanted a total of 4 slices to make 2 big slices and was shut down. I took my 2 small slices and went on my merry way. I honestly didn't even want to take the slices I had. The whole interaction with her was tasteless. Why would I want to bring this to my husband? I have never worked in a Deli type job but I have worked in the food industry. Today's interaction with the gal was such a turn off. Maybe she should stick with making the pizzas instead of helping customers. What a complete waste of time coming in and grabbing 2 uneven slices of pizza. I haven't been in for a long time before this and I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. I'd rather buy a full pizza and have my husband toss the other half of the uneaten pizza than be treated like how I did today.

Private Selection Belgian Chocolate Irish Cream Ice Cream…read more I am an ice cream connoisseur. I normally buy only premium ice cream made with the best ingredients, with a high butter fat content and little to no air added. For that reason, I am a bit of a hard sell when it comes to grocery store ice cream. Intrigued by this particular flavor, I checked out the list of ingredients and bought it, as well as 5 other pints of PS, all of which were on sale for $1.88. It normally sells for $2.99 a pint. It is also available in half quart sizes, which normally sells for $5.99 per currently on sale for $4.49. I have only tried this flavor so far but far exceeded my expectations. I would go so far as to say that it is hands-down, the best grocery store brand ice cream that I have purchased. For example, last summer I tried several flavors of Albertson's Signature Reserve ultra premium ice cream. While the flavors were intriguing, the ice cream itself was disappointing. PS's Belgian Chocolate Irish Cream Ice cream looks exactly like the picture. There are big chunks of cookie mixed into it. The ice cream itself has great flavor and is very smooth and creamy. This is one of the best new chocolate flavors I have tasted in years. One of the things I really like about this ice cream is that you are actually buying a pint. Years ago, Häagen-Dazs raised the bottom of their pints instead of raising their prices, which I would have preferred. It's called truth in advertising. Even at $2.99 a pint, this ice cream is worth every penny. * I purchased this ice cream a couple of months ago. I look forward every time I go in but it must be one of the most popular flavors because it's always gone. Next time I find it, I am buying several pints. Highly Recommended!!!
