I visited Old Field Club for a graduation event and liked the venue. Not only was the outside patio very cute and a great place for pictures, but also the inside felt intimate enough but spacious to accomodate a wide range of small to medium parties. The venue was clean with really nice bathrooms! We didn't have any AV issues. Staff members were nice but acted really quick with the service, perhaps a little too quick before guests could enjoy their food. I liked their steak with the mushroom pepper sauce. The chocolate mousse was on the sweeter side but liked how it was chocolate-y and smooth. The bar was in the back close to the entrance of the patio which was convenient. My daughter and son-in-law were married here last week. Sabine was on top of everything, including keeping us posted of a storm watch that was coming at approximately the same time as ceremony. She must have worked her magic, because the weather held out perfectly. Our Maitre'd, Mike kept everything running smoothly and was great to work with. Eileen, the bridal attendant, was the best. A nice place to organize a wedding could be here, but very far. We live in the city area, so for those who live in Long Island, this location isn't so bad. Due to the traffic we got there just in time for dinner. The venue looked amazing! It's right by the water. The table setting for the wedding was nice and simple. The bride and groom were seated right in front of the fireplace facing the guests. The wedding cake was placed next to the fireplace. The dance floor was at the back where the band was playing. The guests can go in and out from dining area to the back and dance or outside to get some fresh air. We had a buffet style and the buffet was absolutely prepared perfectly by the Chef and his team. Both Chicken Marsala and Beef Short Ribs from the buffet were the best for the night. Besides the wedding cake, we also received assorted desserts such as cookies. That's a lot of sweets! I think any weddings can be good depending on the venue and how the couple wants to save the memory. The couple looked lovely and happy together! My daughter and her partner (thrilled to now call her my daughter-in-law) celebrated their love and joining of families this past weekend at Old Field Club. If anyone asked me to name one thing we would change if we were to do it all over again, the answer is easy: NOTHING! The day was absolutely perfect. Everything was flawless and smooth. The guest list of 75 people was for Sunday brunch. We were blessed with a perfect day for an outdoor ceremony. Towers Flowers, who was recommended by the venue, did a fabulous job with the canopy and the centerpieces. We would use them again without hesitation. The girls had been working with Sabine up until the final week, and then Carlos stepped in. Actually, Sabine came in on the morning of the wedding (her day off) to make sure all the little touches they had discussed were in place. One word to describe Carlos is amazing! He, assisted by Eileen and every single member of the staff, far exceeded our expectations of the day. The food was plentiful and delicious. Every time we turned around, there was someone offering to refill our drinks or get another plate of food. And every guest was treated just as well. I could go on and on (and on) raving about how attentive and genuine everyone at Old Field was. In the interest of space, I'll finish by saying out of 5 stars, I would give them 10! read more

Having attended a wedding here on Sunday, these are my impressions. Yes, the scenery from the outside deck was beautiful. We even saw three swans glide on by. Yes, the scenery in the banquet room was beautiful too. Gorgeous tablescapes and very pretty lighting with chandeliers and accent lighting on the exposed roof trusses. Yes the food was excellent all evening. Some really wonderful bites (high marks for the tuna ahi and stellar scallops) during the cocktail hour and a wonderful plated dinner. It's worth mentioning we had a choice of four entrees - NY Sliced Sirloin, Chicken Asiago, Crispy Red Snapper, and Vegetable Quinoa. My fish was the size of my sneaker! But to my mind, the most impressive part of our experience was the service. There were so many servers and clearers (most of them young) who worked so hard, they made us feel as though we were royalty at a state dinner. They were all dressed in black, and they were buzzing around the banquet room as if they were a swarm of wasps. When they brought out the dinners, they poured out of the kitchen in a black clad singe file parade. And to finish off the evening, as the guests were leaving through the lobby, there was a popcorn bar, where you could fill up a small snack bag with your choice of six different popcorns- check out the photo. Beautiful location for a wedding! We were here for a night wedding, and the location was absolutely stunning even though it was raining. The space itself is quite small in comparison to other venues, but it is organized well. It only really became crowded during cocktail hour as everyone was in the bar area as they were converting the other area back to tables and chairs. Other then that, people fit well in the area. The food was delicious, and the staff members were all attentive and quick. Great spot for a wedding! read more

Went to a wedding at the Old Filed Club yesterday late afternoon. There were a lot of negatives and some positives I will have too talk about. First the negatives!!!! My wife and I got there at the scheduled 3:30 start time, We walked in and were stuffed into a non air conditioned room with aprox 75 people. Whats with the no air conditioning on a 89 degree day???????? The wedding service did not start until 4:15, Which was 45 minutes late. During the time me got there until the service there was no drinks or appetizers served, Pretty bad considering it was super hot. After the wedding ceremony, Everyone was brought in for horderves and appetizers and open bar. Unfortunately just after the hour long food fest, They brought everyone in for diner????. Dont they know they just fed us 10 minutes before. The servers for the dinner portion were slow and not very organized. Overall the planning was terrible and wedding was not formatted correctly. Generally you go too a wedding or any affair, And they follow a normal plan which is #1 appetizers and bar and quick food #2 wedding ceremony #3 dinner #4 desert By the time i finished with the horderves hour i was stuffed, And there was no way I was going to eat anything. Now the positives?? Th Old Field Club is directly on the water in east setauket, Totally beautiful outside. The venue is big enough for aprox 175 people and is well laid out. The horderves and appetizers were amazingly super delicious UMMMMMMMM. I stuffed my self on the best flank steak I ever had along with other items. The actual wedding ceremony was outside and totally beautiful right on the water. Overall I was not very happy with the venue, Found the service not too good and the format totally wrong. I know if I ever had a party or wedding too plan I certainly would not go there, Unless they really got there act together. read more

Had been there for a wedding recently and have had better at a knights of Columbus. Cocktail hour was crammed standing room only. The food mediocre at best. The main room not set up the best way. They wouldn't allow doors open claiming air conditioning was on. Yet it was so much cooler outside and air conditioner couldn't keep up. read more

If you grew up in the Three Village Area like I did and call it home, you've probably been to the OFC at least ONCE in your life. I've been there several times over the course of many, many years, for catered events and parties. Truth be told, I've never actually hosted a party here of my own but I have attended several. They usually do a pretty good job of taking care of the guests, the food is usually pretty good (as far as catering places are concerned) and is kinda' off the beaten path close to the beach. It's still kinda' quaint and serves as a staple in the Three Village area...I'm glad to see that they're still around and looking to host dinners with wine pairings...nice touch guys! I would like to thank Sabine Hoskins General Manager at The Old Field Club(631-751-0571 x 105) for making my daughter's baby shower (April 2021) beautiful! The was set up beautifully n working with her was a pleasureshe is very professional. Answered all of my questions immediately n anytime I emailed her she quickly emailed me back with an answer. Next was our Maitre'D was Dan who was right on top of everything!! From clearing dirty plates, filling up the empty pitchers on the tables , making sure the pans of food were full at all times. If I asked him for something it was done right away. I also had an outside vendor come in n decorated for the party n Dan was very helpful with them. Also both Sabine n Dan were helpful in placing certain gifts on a special so it stood out. Also little things like taking empty boxes n bags away without me asking. Next were Eileen n Elizabeth the waitresses n servers both were fantastic!! Also both of them on top of everything! Made sure the line for buffet moved along with both of them serving. Brought my guests whatever they requested right away. Both willing to help me with the dessert table. I would highly recommend this place for any event u maybe planning!!! The food was absolutely delicious my guest kept telling all day how they really enjoyed themselves n how good the food was. Plus the grounds r beautiful. The Old Field Club is absolutely stunning and still has kind of a cozy feel. We love that it isn't a typical Long Island wedding hall. We really like that they serve craft beers, have an amazing outdoor ceremony space (with a solid and still very lovely backup option in case of bad weather), and the food is delicious. It's a little pricier than some other places we saw, but overall we felt like it was a good value and really it was the only place that had the feel we wanted for our wedding day. Many of our family and friends said it was one of the best weddings they'd ever been to. We are a little Type A when it comes to planning, and we had a few frustrating moments in coordinating with Old Field Club before the wedding, as there were some changes in staffing, policies, and timelines that weren't well communicated. I think this was partly because we were planning from Boston, so we couldn't change our schedules on short notice and primarily coordinated over email. That said, everything went perfectly the day of the wedding. The food was amazing, the buffet setup was perfect, the staff was really accommodating and responsive (a big thank you to Rob!), and the venue looked gorgeous. Staff also coordinated seamlessly with our florist, DJ, bakery, and pastor, so we didn't have to worry about any of that. We also had one minor medical incident that they handled quickly and professionally. We are ultimately really happy we had our wedding at Old Field Club! read more

We held my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception at the Old Field Club in late July and it was flawless. The venue is elegant and understated and the deck on the water can't be beat for cocktail hour. The food was fine restaurant quality, rather than the typical catering hall type food. My guests raved about the food choices at both the cocktail hour and buffet. All of the dishes were excellent but the stand outs were : lamb chops, flank steak, short ribs with grits and bacon wrapped scallop appetizer. What truly sets this venue apart was the excellent service we received from the entire staff. Stephanie, the director of catering, even bustled my daughter's dress for us , which was not that easy to accomplish. Carlos, the Maitre D , and Serenity, the bridal attendant, went above and beyond in order to ensure that the bride and groom enjoyed every minute of the celebration. My daughter got married in October of 2016 & unfortunately it took me all this time to write a review... They did not pay any attention to detail... The maitre d was horrible my daughters quest as they arrived were not escorted to where the ceremony was ...everyone was unaware of where to go & my daughter had to go out of the wedding room to tell quest where to go...The outside benches where filthy half the guest didn't want to sit...They made no announcements ( as far as when the food was being served) The quest where unaware all evening on what was going on...The fireplace and the out door fire pits where not lit... I had to ask them 3x to light them ( the fireplace inside was never lit).. so in all my daughters pics there was a beautiful mantle that we dressed with a fireplace unlit & all you saw was a huge ugly black fireplace... When i called a few days later there wasn't a bit of remorse... For starters, it took me a very long time to find a place on Long Island that would cater to a smaller wedding (100 guests) on a Friday/ Saturday night, with good food, that was not a typical granite/ marble, catering hall with ugly purple up-lighting and no personality. Enter Old Field Club- when I first saw this place in person it was absolutely perfect and everything I imagined in a venue for my wedding day. 1. On the water, 2. ceremony could be on site, 3. option for ceremony to be indoors if inclement weather, 4. Beers on tap, 5. small, intimate setting, 6. many nearby locations for photos. The venue feels like a rustic farmhouse in Vermont, definitely not your typical Long Island venue. Flash forward to the planning process: Sabine and Ben were fantastic to deal with- I could not sing them enough praise. They executed every single one of my crazy ideas perfectly and without batting an eye. I was nervous not having a wedding planner but they proved to me that I did not need one. I provided a lot of decorations for the venue and was nervous it would not be set up how I had visioned it and Ben absolutely killed it. Candle sticks, centerpieces, everything was perfection. Now on to the food. They recently changed their menu, and it is absolutely fantastic. The cocktail hour was amazing, we upgraded a few things and let me tell you- 100% worth it. Lamb chops are insane, and the duck guyere grilled cheese is ridiculously delicious. I have never had such great food at a wedding, I wish I could eat there on a daily basis because the food was so fresh and delicious. I was blown away. The service was also fantastic- our guests raved that their steaks were actually cooked how they ordered them. Only downside was I wish they wrapped up our food for us and the food for guests who could not make the wedding. Overall there is no better wedding venue on Long Island ( I have truly been to them all). I almost don't want people to know about it because it is a 'best kept secret' of the area. If you are looking for a smaller, initmate, quaint wedding with fabulous food, and local on tap beer (where the heck can you get that at a wedding) then this is your venue!! read more
