This was by far one of the worst places we have eaten at our entire vacation. We came to grab something quick instead of sitting down and waiting at a restaurant on the island. I got a Buffalo chicken wrap. My boyfriend got a hot dog, cheese burger, and cheese fries. A square of cheese you'd get out of a package was melting on to the fries. You can literally see the outline... my wrap had maybe had 5-6 small cut pieces in each side. 17.99 was the price of the wrap and it was mainly lettuce. Please avoid so you don't ruin your day. Total was $58 pictures shown below.. Another note to add was a girl who works here came in and the owner was loud and rude. Very unprofessional we were sitting trying to eat what food had already ruined our mood and she's bullying her staff. Very unprofessional. Don't let your children work here apparently either !

For starters I made a major mistake. I ordered a hot lobster roll from "Old Harbor View Takeout" last year when I visited Block Island for the day. Unfortunately I was not the Yelper I am today so I didn't check in, and I couldn't remember the name of the place. So I made the mistake of posting my picture but gave credit to another establishment across the street. DOOHH!! Well this time I will not make that mistake. I was craving a lobster roll mid-week through our vacation but just like last year, I didn't have one until I was waiting for the ferry to leave the island. I have to say the one I had last year was a tad bit better for some odd reason, but the one I had was still yummy!! It was meaty and buttery. The boss lady walks around greeting everyone, while trying to convince you to sit and eat. I washed it all down with a strawberry/lemonade smoothie. Its Block Island so be prepared to shell out a little bit of $$$. Two rolls and fries $54.

Great lobster roll. They take credit cards.

Clean seats under umbrellas on brick patio across the shops in the center of Old Harbor. Convenient to the Ferries. And a public bathroom. Great food, ice cream and beverages. Even Dels lemonade as you exit. Great for families, couples and single diners. Great large chunked lobster rolls served with butter -unlike the take out across the street at Rebecca's which only serves then cold with mayo. I think this place is nicer. You see them washing own the tables. Best lobster rolls!!! Expensive here, and back home in CT. Lady in charge greets you.

Ordered a $30 hot lobster roll and received two huge/ tough, drenched in butter piece of lobster on top of a roll that was soaked in butter. The two pieces of lobster were too big to fit in the roll so they were just laying on top making it very difficult to eat. No silverware was provided and when I brought it back to the cashier the chef was very unfriendly and careless.

$20 wraps that are mostly lettuce. Thought we'd get a quick, decent lunch but this was not worth it at all.

Very good lobster roll, but not cheap and not a huge portion. It was over $30 for the roll and clam chowder. Worth it as I was visiting.

I appreciate that their food is "farm to table" fresh, but the portion sizes should match the prices. Our table of ten spent an average of $320 per couple, and three of the couples had split their dinners. We did order appetizers and drinks as well. I explained my food allergies to the waitress. She relayed the info to the kitchen and did her best to accommodate me. I ordered a small charcuterie without blue cheese. It came with Prosciutto, manchego cheese wedges, pitted olives, red grapes, a few crostini, and a drop of honey. For my entree, I ordered a filet mignon. It came with dollops of instant-like mashed potatoes and prosciutto wrapped asparagus. My friend ordered a filet as well but his was cooked more than the temp he ordered. Instead of medium, it came out well done... charred on the outside, no pink, and dry. Mine, on the other hand, was cooked perfectly even though mine was medium as well. Would I come back? Only for a special occasion perhaps. ‍

They work in front of basically half the tables and always keep their cool. With as busy as they are, they don't have an enormous menu and I feel that it's better that way. I'm not sure how often they change the menu as the online page showed slightly different meals. The wait staff are plentiful and it's rather amazing how well they keep up. The way my family and I were treated upon arrival was extremely disappointing. The male host was unnecessarily disrespectful and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in, despite us being polite and having every intention of dining there. After getting a reservation online and returning, the female host/manager was also a little rude and dismissive toward us at first. That only added to the uncomfortable atmosphere we felt. Even the bartenders didn't acknowledge us. Staff would catch eye contact with us and just keep going. Thankfully, the experience improved once we were seated. Our waiter (Cam) was genuinely kind, professional, and attentive throughout the meal, and the food itself was excellent. The chefs clearly know what they're doing, because every dish was prepared beautifully and tasted amazing. It's unfortunate that such strong food and service from the waitstaff are overshadowed by the poor attitude at the front of the restaurant. A little basic respect and hospitality toward guests would make a huge difference. Growing up in the hospitality service (restaurant) then working in retail to aviation. We're all taught from the beginning. A person walks in, greet them with a smile and let them know you'll be with them shortly. Not ignore them then to be slightly rude. We all understand being busy. But don't take it out on the customers. Especially when they didn't cause your stress. I'm giving them a high score because Cam and the chefs were amazing. Even the chefs said goodnight to us and thanked us.

Great service, yummy food, good drink menu, photos of cute dogs on the wall... what more could you want after a long day at the beach? The tuna nachos were to die for. They definitely had some kick! The bread basket with the garlic butter was a nice touch. I loved my salmon and the bite I took of my partner's burger was juicy and delicious. The thick seasoned fries with the burger were also great. Unfortunately we filled up on everything and didn't save room for dessert, but we will definitely have dessert next time.

Instead, you wait in line and order at the bar and they bring it to your table number. If you're looking for a fancy dinner, this isn't the place, but if you're looking for an option in between cheap and nice, this is the place. My boyfriend got the mac n cheese which was $16 (perhaps a little pricey). He said it wasn't very cheesy but personally I like it like that! I ordered the salmon and asked for just farro and corn instead of the succatash and goat cheese and all that, but they didn't bring any farro. I then asked for it and the guy asked me if I ordered it. I said yes, I know I did, and he said he'd go check, but he never came back. After 10-15 minutes I went to find the guy I asked and he seemed confused. He said "I couldn't find her" and I didn't know what he meant, but apparently he was looking for the girl who took my order? I guess to validate that I hadn't asked them to remove the farro? Very odd. A nice employee at the bar told him to just get me some farro (because it's really not that big of a deal) and he brought me a cold small plastic cup of unseasoned farro (pictured). Whole thing struck me as very odd and a little annoying. The dish was $29 which also felt a little expensive, especially without a big portion, but it's definitely more affordable than other places on the island. Overall, great view, but the rest of our experience was meh!
