My wife and I both count Dr. Brady as the favorite doctor we have been involved with over our collective 100 years. A leader and collaborator in our child's care, she has clearly put a great deal of thought into how she approaches the complex and nuanced job she has. People are hard to guide to good outcomes. She does it so well. With the reputation that OHPA has in the real (rather than virtual) world, note the issues those that written about their single star reviews cite. A couple are about OHPA as a business providing service, but the others are about care. I'm a booster because good outcomes for our children are so important. medicine works because it measures and tests. Because it obsesses over data. It ain't esthetics or what feels right. I love them because they take best practices seriously. That means I can have them do the hard work of surveying the complex, multi-disciplinary world of medical knowledge and trust what they say it means. Dr. Long has been extremely helpful. He is kind and welcomes any off the wall new mom question without judgment. The staff have been helpful and are wonderful when giving shots. I also love that they have a line to call for any questions. Being a new mom it is helpful and comforting. read more

Never go here. We scheduled an appointment for a physical for my daughter. Not only did they "lose" the appointment, they weren't apologetic at all. They had all our information but no appointment. We took our daughter out of school, rescheduled our day around this appointment and for nothing. Horrible organization. read more

Where do I even start, first of all the rooms are extremely cold I took my 2 day old newborn here and as soon as I got there they took my daughter out of the room WITHOUT ASKING ME TO DO SO and proceeded to do a rectal temperature reading without my consent. My daughter comes back to the room and then they give me a text message to fill out my information and leave the link for the website doesn't even work I sat their with my wife and child for 20 minutes in this freezing room before anyone bothered to come back and check and to see if we were done when I told them the application doesn't work so they leave again and give me an iPad to do everything again and finally come back after I'm done and then ask me all the same questions I just filled out on the iPad in person so I completely wasted 10 minutes filling out the application for no reason whatsoever the doctor finally comes in the room and directly starts asking why my 2 day newborn daughter doesn't have a hep B vaccine and why we declined it and then we told her we didn't want to give her the Hep b vaccine until she was about 3 months old and she says we can just do it next time then proceeded to take my daughter and put her on a freezing cold metal table naked in a diaper when my daughter began to cry and her skin color changed from the cold room and then the doctor proceeded to tell me she thinks she has jaundice even though we took a test at Vanderbilt hospital where she was at not even 24 hours prior then she leaves the room and another nurse comes into the room and proceeded with the Billy test my daughter was crying profusely and I could not have been more angry yes it was negligence on our part for not asking what this test entailed but come on at least explain the general process of what you are going to do so finally we leave furious and disgusted by the service we received but it doesn't end there they proceeded to call us 30 times in 3 days and most of them were back to back calls not one voicemail just spamming calls which shows me that they are hurting for customers and do not care at all about their practices this place is truly disgusting and deserves to go out of business please as a Parent do better then I did DO NOT CHOSE THIS PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD read more

My 2 children have been with Old Harding Pediatrics since birth, which is going on 12 years now. I love the fact that my child can see a doctor every time they have an appointment. Dr Long is great and my kids don't mind dr appointments as long as there are no shots involved, lol. The office has night and weekend clinics. Nurses and doctors are also available the answer questions via phone after hours. I wouldn't consider taking my kids anywhere else. We have had only good experiences with Old Harding Pediatrics. read more

A good word to describe Dr. Lynda Brady is "thorough!" We owe her everything. We were constantly being told by another pediatrician that our asthmatic daughter's cold symptoms were "viral, and nothing can be done, you just had to wait it out." After week 3 of no improvement and being told the same thing by another pediatrician over the holiday, we took her to Dr. Brady. Dr. Brady actually ran tests and had our daughter her get a chest x-Ray where pneumonia was found in both of her lungs. If we had stuck by the answers given to us by the other pediatricians, it would have likely landed our little girl in the hospital...or even worse. Now, our daughter is getting the help and relief she has needed for 3 weeks!! read more

Love these guys. We interviewed numerous pediatrician groups prior to having our first kid and we really dug the vibe we got from here. Unfortunately, we saw them way too many times during the first year of my son's life because he got a bajillion ear infections. When we got to the end of year one, they helped us make the decision to go ahead and get tubes put in. Let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions we ever made. Our primary physician is Dr. Long. He is a super-enthusiastic, high-energy individual and has a great personality. The fact that he has three young children of his own really helps him relate to what you are going through. He has an amazing memory and always brings up personal details that I have no idea how he remembers given that he probably has dozens and dozens of patients. It is so refreshing to find a primary care physician that has social skills. Now if I could just find a doc like Dr. Long for people my age. We have had to face a number of tough decisions as new parents and he has been fantastic at helping us to work through our options. I'll never forget waking up face down in a chair at Vanderbilt's birthing center looking at his shoes and waking up as he came to visit us on our first day as parents in the hospital. When Dr. Long isn't in, we have seen other docs, most frequently Dr. Keffer, again, has a great personality and can actually have a conversation with you. He also taught our pre-birth orientation as well and was able to answer a lot of our questions. Fantastic care-givers here. read more

Dr Patton is one of the most incapable doctors I've ever seen, oh and the front desk people, some I've the rudest people I've ever come into contact with. Dr Patton shouldnt even be considered a dr she wasnt Thourough and tried to prescribe me something I was allergic to and it was obviously stated in my chart that I'm allergic to it, I hope she loses her license. A coworker referred me to OHPA. I had a baby at Vanderbilt in December and I am very happy with OHPA. Our doctor is Dr. Keffer and he is great. Very personable and funny. When I delivered my son at Vanderbilt, Dr. Keffer was out of town so two other doctors came to check on our son both mornings he was in the hospital. They were also both very helpful and informative. The office calls to confirm all appointments and Dr. Keffer called me personally to tell me the day after my son had an ultrasound done to tell me the results. OHPA has weekend and evening hours and an online system for appointments and payments. One of the main praises my coworker had for them was that no matter which doctor you see, they are all great. I know that if an emergency arrives, we will be well taken care of. read more

We have a high deductible insurance plan and for about the past 5 years I've noticed huge bills from this office. My recent bill for a physical was $394. Do not go to this office if you have to pay for it out of pocket. They are extremely dishonest and did a complete physical on my daughter (she went by herself because she's 17) when she went for a med check but then didn't write the prescription she came for. I would have thought they would decide she didn't need the medicine and then send her home. Not do the whole physical and then decide. There is a desperation at this office like they are not getting enough business. I've felt this way for years and now I'm sure of it. read more

This was an absolute TERRIBLE experience. My daughter had jaundice so we drove an hour and a half to this doctor's office for them to check her Jaundice levels. Literally all they did was poke her skin and make an assumption as to what the level was. (You are supposed to do a blood test) The front desk lady was very rude also and the nurses were very inexperienced. Their billing department is also very terrible and RUDE. They literally called me two months after the visit and said that they were about to bill me and my insurance doesn't cover the first 30 days of birth anymore. I called my insurance to confirm and they said that they were incorrect. I called the doctor's office back and they got an attitude with me and told me that my insurance is wrong but they will try to bill them anyways. Tell me why the new pediatrician we have been taking her to has been billing my insurance just fine? I don't recommend this terrible place to anyone. read more

We've had OHPA physicians since my daughter was a baby. The MDs, nurses, office staff have always been helpful and customer service oriented. Most recently, they have started a new check in process that is ridiculously cumbersome. Clearly more work for the parents and a total waste of time when you are there to focus on caring for your child. Instead, you have to spend ten minutes tapping details into your phone/all information you've given them for years prior during all of the numerous visits you've made. Dr Keffer provides stellar medical care to my child (4 years old now) since birth. We are always able to get in quickly when there's a sickness, and the after hours doctors (they rotate on call Drs from the group) have all been spectacular. The billing office is easy to deal with, and the nurses are always very good with my child. read more

I LOVE this office. And Dr. Keffer is the best human being and doctor ever as our his nurses! My kids love him and I have never had a problem ever in our 8 years of being patients here. We have seen two different doctors at this practice, at two different locations. I don't know if it's because my daughter is a teen but they didn't impress either of us with bedside manner nor time. At the Bellevue office they didn't even bother walking us to the room they just gestured and grunted the room number. Dr. Betts had no personality whatsoever and was very dry. The second time we went, we went to the Belle Meade office to see Dr. Patton. He could barely give us five minutes of his time and they billed us wrong at the front desk. Maybe these doctors are good with smaller kids but I definitely would not recommend them for teens which is a shame because teens need to see doctors too. read more

I am thrilled to have OHPA as for all our diverse pediatric needs! Our Doctor is Dr.Paul Heil. He has been the pediatrician for our 3 children for over 16 years. Dr. Heil and his staff , Kim (front desk) Pam R.N. Allison R.N. along with new R.N. s are always caring , kind and friendly! When our new born didn't tolerate breast milk . Dr.Heil suggested the problem might be with me ( mom) and my diet. He asked me to eliminate all diary . I did and as a result my daughter fed and had no more feeding issue ! She is now a healthy 10 year old. My son , now 16 , was born with Downsyndrome . The entire team at OHPA walked us through many health issues . At age 2 our son was very fussy and just would not sleep very much. I made an appointment with Dr.Heil who on a hunch and ordered a Tempanogam exam to look for possible fluid in the inner ear. It did and we were quickly referred to Dr. Werkhaven at Vanderbilt. Dr.Werhaven decided Tubes were needed . After the operation, in the recovery room, my son took his FIRST STEPS ever! Until then he had never walked due to balance problems . The test Dr.Heil gave him revealed a health problem that left untterated , would've interfered with every area of my sons growth and development! What a break through! I'm so grateful for Dr. Heil along with the entire staff at Old Haring Pediatrics. Thank you for always being there for us! Your care is a comfort and an answer to prayers! Thank you! read more

I agree with the last poster's view that they do not seriously consider what parents have to say regarding the care of their child. I stayed home with my kids through infancy and recently went back to work. The other day when I suspected my 2 yr old had an ear infection, I had my husband take her in to see a doctor for a sick visit. My older daughter had her wellness and school visit and all was fine. Sure enough, the 2 yr old had an ear infection. We asked for Augmentin, the only antibiotic that had worked for her past ear infections (we had tried amoxiciliin and Omnicef but her infections came back with a few days of completing the medicine). Dr. Patton absolutely refused to prescribe it - despite numerous phone calls and explanations about why we preferred Augmentin and our daughter's past medical history. He was, however, happy to prescribe Azithromycin, an antibiotic that she hadn't tried before and my husband is severely allergic to. Apparently he is going by CDC guidelines only without any regard to parents' experiences with their children or their concerns. Why pump my child full of antibiotics that likely won't work for her or a new one that might make her sick instead of giving her one that we know already worked and doesn't cause a reaction? I made it clear that if had an allergic reaction or that the ear infection returned after the antibiotics, I would hold them responsible. I'm new to Nashville, but won't be seeing Dr. Patton again. read more

Not a good pediatric office. I took my 2 babies to Dr. Smeltzer, who is suppose to be one of the best 26 in the city, and we have seen Dr. Betts and Dr. Heil durring their weekend hours and days when Smeltzer was out of office.They don't take mother's worries seriously, they don't tell you the side affects of medication after you have asked and they use a condescending tone of voice to talk to you. The care for your child isn't consistent and when your kids are really sick and I'm talking throwing up, diarrehea, rash and ear infection all at once you want someone who cares and will pay attention to your concerns and be gentle with your baby. Because of the lack of concern I had to take my babies to Vanderbilt emergency room and get the meds that cleared up the rash and finally killed the infection after 2 weeks and 5 visits and an emergency room visit. I just don't think that should happen to any child. read more
