Anyhow, I've come in a few times lately. A lot of employees don't know about this. Tonight, our bartender did seem to remember the offer! Unfortunately, we were informed it stopped after Covid. The glasses we purchased are useless. We were poured a bushwacker in their normal cup and offered a topper for $2. No deal whatsoever. I feel if a customer comes in with the glass and asks for the deal they purchased, it should be honored. You advertised this special...honor it. Anyhow, this is a great place to enjoy a great meal and drinks on the lake. Lots of outdoor dining is available over the water. It's enjoyable to toss some bread to the fish or turtles swimming by. The bushwackers are, indeed, fabulous! The chicken tenders are super tender. Bar fills us with tons of regulars, so get there early to snag a spot at the small bar!

The conversations with the staff were so natural and welcoming that I genuinely felt like I was visiting family. And guess what? Granddaddy himself came out of the kitchen, where he was cooking, just to sit and chat with me! We had a REAL conversation. He told me about his career, his retirement, and even pulled out his phone to show me pictures of his family. No scripted customer service, no forced small talk. Just genuine Southern hospitality. The next morning, before leaving on the next leg of our 4,000+ mile road trip, I couldn't find my wallet, which my wife had been carrying in her purse while we were out on a boat. The restaurant was closed on Monday but, after a little detective work we were able to get in touch with the owner, who called an employee who was going in that day to take care of some things. She opened the place up so we could look around. The wallet wasn't there, but man...they did us a huge favor, and we appreciate their kindness and help immensely. I can't say enough about the food, the service, the owner, and C, who opened the place for us. Top notch human beings and a top notch establishment. Our friends ended up finding my wallet in the end, and have FedExed it to our next destination in Louisiana.
