Clay shooting is amazing, first time shooting skeet, and we had a good time. Will be returning, and recommend.

Higdon House - Bridal party breaking it down to the Harlem Shake

Words cannot begin to express how much we…read moreappreciate all that the Higdon House has done to make our special day absolutely sheer poetry! We booked this venue 3 1/2 years ago and since my husband is in the military we've had to reschedule our wedding twice. I couldn't have picked a better venue, because they were so understanding about our situation. Jack the owner and Harvey the event manager became like family to me by the end of it all. Always encouraging me and telling me not to worry when I would feel defeated about our hectic schedule changes! Pick this venue to have your wedding, because you will not be disappointed. Our wedding coordinator was Kathryn. She immediately emails or calls you back and is always there to answer any questions you have. She helped out so much from easing differing opinions, to reminding you of things you would have never known to do, and was so key in directing our ceremony. If you're a worrier like I am, she is amazing at reassuring you everything is going to be fine and if something does go wrong she is there to take care of it before you even realize it's happened. She made our wedding day so amazing because we knew she was on top of it all. Burke Brennan was our DJ! He was a delight to work with. He's the type of DJ that would get out on the dance floor and teach you the wobble! Who wouldn't want an interactive DJ!? I also recommend Judy Leeson from At Your Service Catering for your caterer. Judy answered all my emails. Helped me put a light summer menu together, I mean our guests couldn't say enough about the dinner, service and overall the atmosphere her and her staff provided for us. Beside the venue itself being BREATHTAKINGLY GORGEOUS, the friendly staff provided impeccable service! They were easy to work with and every single one of them was professional, organized, and happy. They were full of great ideas, and I can't even begin to describe what a value they are! The venue provide SO much standard with their all-inclusive pricing, they can't be touched by competitors. Anyone who is lucky enough to book their wedding with The Higdon House will not only not be disappointed, but should be prepared to be blown away! Thank you so much for making our wedding day the best day of our life!

The Lavender Blueberrty Moscow Mule is phenomenal! And so was the Spinach Goat Cheese pizza on cauliflower crust. We also wholeheartedly enjoyed the awesome Steakhouse burger and Truffle Fries. Beautiful Setting, Disappointing Service…read more We frequent this restaurant because the venue itself is a great place to spend time. Unfortunately, the food has consistently been mediocre, and today's brunch was no exception. What really prompted this review, though, was the service. At her meal-arrival check-in, I told our server that we were missing a side item, and she acknowledged it. At the end of the meal, after the entrée had been eaten, I again confirmed that the side had never arrived. Since it was too late to receive the item, I asked whether they would consider taking a percentage off the bill. Rather than addressing my request or apologizing for the oversight, the server asked my dining companion whether he would prefer the missing item packaged to go. That was an odd assumption; not only that he should be the one to decide, but that he was necessarily the person paying for the inadequate meal. The bigger issue is that when a customer expresses dissatisfaction, the server should listen, apologize, and, involve management to determine how to make the situation right. At minimum, an apology would have gone a long way; unfortunately, none was offered. With the prices being charged and the food being only so-so, this restaurant really needs to capitalize on what it does have going for it, the beautiful setting. By making the service experience exceptional, a lot of faults could be overlooked. We enjoy coming here and would love to see the restaurant do better.

We were catching up with family so we did not chat much with the staff about the beers but if we would have, they would have been very knowledgeable and talked all about it. I could taste the habanero finish and it was so unique! I made an excellent choice. We also had the stout and this was chocolatey and creamy. Delicious! Our glasses were plastic. It could be due to COVID-19. Prices were about $30 for 4 people to have one round. The staff was very warm and laid back but not too laid back that we felt uncomfortable to speak to them. I noticed when I travel to the south, I often feel like I don't want to be a burden. According to their website, they have a lot of events. They are easing back into it again after the pandemic. Next time I visit, I can't wait to listen to some live country music. They have a large space in the main seating area. If you went here you would be EXTREMELY social distanced. It seemed to be dog friendly as well (plus). I could imagine this would be a great wedding destination for a barn feel.
