What a unique and entertaining experience! We spent 2 hours exploring the Old Jail with 2 guides and a small group of people. The team provided tools to help with the paranormal investigation and provided ample historical information to aid us in our quest. As a history enthusiast, I was very pleased and excited to see the jail after hours. I had no clue to how much cruelty there was in one place. We did experience something. If I could give this more than five stars I would. This was the best ghost tour there is! Fran was super friendly and such an amazing tour guide. He explained the history of the jail and talked about different stories that happened within the jail. He also explained all the different equipment well and explained what different pieces of equipment do. This experience is unlike any other ghost tour I've ever done. It's more of a "paranormal experience" rather than a tour, so if you're looking for more of a guided experience I would suggest the Ghosts and Gravestones tour. In the Old Jail After Dark, we were briefed for about 15 minutes about some of the darker historical events that occurred in the jail (I sadly can't remember our guide's name - but he did an amazing job). You are then let loose to explore inside of the jail on your own with several pieces of ghost hunting equipment for about 30 minutes. We had soooo much fun being locked in the jail! We visited the old jail during the day to make sure we knew where to be that night, and this man walked past us and we started talking. I didn't recognize him from the poster at first (longer hair and beard) but he was so nice and stood with us for about 15 minutes talking about his life and why he stared doing this. He was so nice! He told us what to expect and even took the time to show us pictures he had of activity in the jail, and told us some stories! He could have just walked past us and said hi, but instead he was so awesome! It made us so excited for what that night would bring!!! All I'm going to say about that night was 3 people ran out of there not even ten minutes into it! We had a blast and we will be back!!! Maybe by then they might have more locations?? ;) read more

I normally don't leave reviews but I absolutely had to for this paranormal investigation. Me and my friend travel around the country seeking out haunted experiences and this fit the bill. The night began at midnight, which is the perfect hour to get in touch with ghosts, spirits, and demons. Fran (cool beard) was our tour leader and he walked us through the eventful history of the Old Jail and showed us the tools we would be using. This was the most advanced equipment I have ever used. Between the dowsing rods and thermal camera we were in paranormal heaven! We weren't even through the full intro when a light on the property went out. From there, the adrenaline started to kick in. We couldn't wait to get inside. We walked in and got right into it. Immediately, I could feel the aura of the jail. I knew we were going to have some serious encounters. Below I have listed some very real, scientific fact based evidence we encountered: -Various ghosts, spirits, and demons saying the words Japanese, knife, and the number 34. -grid movement in solitary confinement -legit beans -shapes having sexual interactions on the bed near us -phantom urine Finally, the craziest experience of all was my health. When I went inside I felt great, but once I was inside I could tell some of the spirits were messing with my insides. I had to take brief periods of the trip to step outside and vomit because of these strong sensations. This was crazy and unexplained but if vomiting is the price I have to pay to get in touch with another world, then I will pay that 362 days out of the year (closed on 4th of July, Christmas, and Christmas Eve). Such a cool experience! You are taught how to use the devices to pick up any kind of activity and they set you loose in the jail. We love paranormal shows and tours but this is the first real experience we had speaking with a spirit. Our tour was at 11:30 and I only wish it was longer!!! I would've paid a lot of money to spend the night!!!! Our guide was a paranormal investigator and she gave us plenty of precautions and advice in order to have the best experience! If your thinking about trying this, do something else. The site says 45 minute tours but 15 of your minutes is taken up by introducing the tools. You pay for a 45 minute tour but actually get a 30 minute tour with 15 minutes of talking before and after. There is no reason this can't be extended to an hour. There are other haunted attractions that give you better value in the area. Unless they up the time, stay away. Guides where cool but the actual exploring part was sub par at best. read more

The old jail after dark was amazing! Our tour guide was very informative on the history of the old jail. He showed us how to use various equipment for ghost investigation. He allowed us to walk around and take pictures of the jail cells. He also showed us various pictures on his phone of paranormal activity over the years. The staff also cleaned the equipment and everything guests touched. I would recommend this ghost tour and investigation to anyone. It would be really cool if the Old Time Jail After Dark did an over night stay for the avid ghost fan! read more
