Strolling couples look happy, kids are having fun, the vendors are smiling, and all the dogs are wagging their tails. The food diversity is amazing here! We bought Mexican tamales, Indian samosas, Thai dumplings, Argentine chorizo, Venezuelan empanadas, and some good old American sourdough (probably the best we've ever tasted!), along with award winning honey, lots of fresh veggies, some gorgeous mushrooms, beef jerky, and some delicious cinnamon rolls. There were about 50 vendors last Saturday, a live guitarist and the cutest petting zoo. We will definitely be back here more often.

Stop by Dee's Nuts (yes you read that correctly) and by some Sriracha Ranch and Dill Pickle flavors to mix (yes you read that correctly). Delish! Also grabbed some Ruin beverages. Instead, you have to sign up in person (given very little notice), pay with cash before receiving a hand-written receipt, and have your info sheet added to a giant, messy appearing binder. This organizational method has routinely caused many issues, including double booking same-type vendors and losing track of cancellations/communication with vendors. We have attended 14 of the last 15 Katy Market Days as a well-loved vendor of fresh-squeezed lemonade, kettle corn, and shaved ice. Our first 6 or so events with Katy Market Days ran smooth with very little interaction with Betsy and Harry Proctor, the owners of The Limited Edition Art and Antiques and coordinators of Katy Market Day. As the months progressed, more issues appeared, including multiple lemonade, kettle corn, and shaved iced vendors attending the market, despite reassurance this wouldn't happen. We were always met with excuses such as, "a new girl let the other vendors book". The market this past Saturday started with a duplicate shaved ice truck parked directly across from our booth. Harry, Betsy's husband, handled the situation with respect and professionalism. He apologized for the double booking and offered a refund for this month's market. His attitude and demeanor was much appreciated in the midst of a frustrating situation for both vendors. Shortly after, a large, white food truck pulled directly in front of our booth and parked, hiding us from view of customers. My husband asked Betsy if the truck was going to stay, as it was an unusual spot and there was plenty of other options. My husband walked back to our booth and Betsy chased him down and began YELLING that the "truck is not moving" and we are "more trouble than we're worth". This outburst made the vendors surrounding us and the customers in my line visibly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this display was not out of character for Betsy as we've witnessed numerous verbal disputes and disproportionate negative reactions toward other vendors over the course of our time. We've seen Betsy run after and scream at another vendor leaving the event early. Betsy routinely speaks abruptly and disrespectful toward vendors while signing up. In our early days of attending KMD, she even refused to let me and my young son use the restroom in her store while I was heavily pregnant and in dire need. Sometimes making an exception to a rule is necessary and compassionate. You'll hear numerous similar stories from most every vendor. Katy Market Day has the potential to be an excellent monthly event for the community but sadly falls short due to ineffective, unprofessional, and callous management.

The manager I believed welcomed me BACK. I said "Oh thank you", but in my head I was thinking this was my first time back in months, lol. I must have a twin, lol. Ok, back to the review. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. There's also plenty of seating in a quaint, charming little market setting, making it a great spot to sit, relax, and enjoy your drink. Definitely a hidden gem--I'll be back to try more flavors! 5 stars!

Houston Flea Market is the definition of "you get what you pay for." It's overcrowded, disorganized, and feels like a maze of the same vendors selling the same cheap imported products over and over. The aisles can be dirty, parking is chaotic, and customer service varies wildly depending on who you're dealing with. Prices aren't always the bargain you'd expect either--many sellers charge close to retail unless you're willing to haggle. The food is one of the better parts, but it isn't enough to make up for the overall experience. If you're hoping to find unique antiques or hidden treasures, you'll probably leave disappointed after digging through piles of low-quality merchandise. Unless you specifically enjoy the flea market atmosphere or know exactly what you're looking for, there are much better ways to spend your time.

I've been going to this farmer's market for a few months. To me, it's worth the 20 minute drive…read morefrom my Sugar Land house. It's bigger than most farmer's markets, but not too big. The place is owned and run by family. All of them are very nice. The guy farms several vegetables himself. The other fruit and veggies he gets from the area distributors. This makes for some fresh produce and a lot better than what you get in the grocery stores. His prices are reaonable and compare (if not cheaper) to HEB. Like any place that sells fresh produce, sometimes you might get a bad peach or such. However, 99% of the time I've always had good fruit and vegetables from them. They also sell some jar items, but never tried them. If you go, you might want to call first because they are seasonal. I think they close down after November. If you go out Hwy 36 from Rosenberg watch for the red "Open" sign. The turn off road is right across Hwy 36 from a concrete yard. My one and only complaint is having to cross a busy railroad track to get in.

If you're looking for the lowest price this isn't the place, but it is higher quality than Wally World when it comes the item for item. I'll pay the difference given the taste.
