A Delicious Toasted Bagel Sandwich with bacon, cheese, avocado, cream cheese and pesto
    Chuck A.

Discovered the Old Liberty Theater in Ridgefield ,WA., while on our way to the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. We wanted to grab a couple coffee drinks and something small to snack on before spending the rest of the day at Wildlife Refuge. It was there that we tried their Toasted Bagel Sandwich. What a wonderful combination of flavors, cream cheese, bacon, avocado, cheese and pesto. We also added a tasty cowgirl cookie, gluten free. This is our go to place before or after visiting the wildlife refuge. We love the ambiance and charming character of the Old Liberty Theater. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and have Morgan make you their signature Toasted Bagel Sandwich, you won't be disappointed.

My GPS was sending me to the wrong end of the community college and apparently, that is common for people, according to the staff. Be mindful and look for the little signs they put out when they have performances. I would have preferred getting there early especially since I completely missed getting an ADA parking spot. The parking lot is rather large but, for sold out shows - that's a challenge. The theater is pretty great! There's many seats, a creative layout and I was shocked, they could tuck the orchestra above the stage so we could see the conductor a touch. With the layout it feels almost intimate.

The auditorium is spacious, and boasts an assortment of comfortable seating throughout - including ADA accommodations. Although it's an hour drive from my home, I will make a point of attending performances here in the future.

Gratefully that is not the case here and I was able to get in and out with no issues. I will say that they're ADA seating is a bit of a distance because the seating is sloped and ADA it's down front so you do need to go a bit steeply to downhill. The person I was supposed to go with was unable to attend so the lack of a seat was not an issue. But I was seats A5 and A6 and seat A5 was an open space so I'm assuming they have chairs they can bring out. I did not grab concessions but they actually looked to have a pretty ample selection. It's really good to know though for the future. The stage is quite large and I was delighted to see a really wonderfully done production of Arsenic and Old Lace. They seem to have a parking lot in the rear. Luckily I was able to grab something among the street quickly with only a small walk.

My oldest daughter was in The Sound of Music the summer before last and both my daughters were in Willy Wonka this past summer. What a great local resource that, for some unknown reason took me too long to discover after moving here 6 years ago! I've met some really nice and talented people from the local community and beyond. Shoestring doesn't have it's own facility so it can be a bit costly to put on performances, but they do a nice job at the St. Helens HS and, more recently, at the new Scappoose HS auditorium. I recently volunteered and was elected to serve as the Secretary on the Board and am hoping to see some more community support for this group and the arts in this community in general so I don't have to always go to Portland to scratch that itch. While my talents don't lie in acting, dancing, doing anything backstage, etc, I love watching! Through my kids' involvement with Shoestring, I also found that I enjoy taking tickets and manning concessions, probably because I enjoy meeting and talking to people. We are lucky to have this in our area!

Thank you to all of the volunteers, sponsors and contributors who have contributed your time and money to ensure the theater remains open for future generations. Located in downtown Longview, the theater is positioned in a northwest-facing plaza with plenty of neighboring restaurants and cafes, as well as a dedicated parking lot in the rear. Visitors will also find plenty of street parking in the blocks surrounding the theater. The theater boasts a spacious lobby, with concessions and restrooms down a hallway to the left. This configuration prevents congestion in the lobby, however it can get crowded in the hallway. The theater has great acoustics, comfortable seating, and mostly unubstructed sightines throughout the auditorium.
