Our family has been coming to this theater for years, but after our recent experience while trying to see Toy Story 5, we will never return. While checking our tickets and ordering sodas at the front desk, the staff, including Caleb, demanded to search my wife and daughter's purses. We have brought snacks to this and other theaters for years and never had this happen to us, but we obliged anyway. My wife handed over her candy, and my daughter walked back to the car to return hers. The staff conducting the search were borderline rude and lacked professionalism, especially Caleb. The situation escalated dramatically when my daughter returned carrying her thin movie jacket. As we walked down the hallway toward our screen, Caleb loudly yelled down the hall at her, demanding to know if she was hiding anything in her jacket. Being publicly accused like that was incredibly embarrassing. When we told them the jacket was empty, they aggressively demanded that she shake it out to prove it. This triggered a heated shouting match. The handling of this situation was completely unacceptable. Caleb and the staff turned a simple policy enforcement into a public spectacle through hostile, accusatory, and deeply unprofessional behavior. They have officially lost our business. This has been our go to theater. Best theater near Woodland. Clean and easy to navigate. Wide variety of movies. Great low key location and allows you to avoid going into the city for a movie theater experience. This round our only nit was the popcorn was the least amazing popcorn experience at a theater. there were two very rude employees who would not let me bring my SMALL bag into the theater that had my laptop and spare underclothes and hairbrush in it because I was staying somewhere and needed my bag but these two rude female employees took it and would not let me have my necessity's and kept it behind the counter. I've never had an issue like this at this theater. it really ruined my experience and I enjoyed my time at the theater less due to these factors. read more

Much better than last trip. Had house lights up on stairs so you could get in and out safely - not like last time when did not. Sound a little too loud. Clean. Did NOT prebuy seats. I love coming here because it's literally right next to my house! They have the best popcorn and the service is always great! Went and saw Longlegs today in theater room 7, we were the only ones there so it was perfect. HOWEVER the speakers seemed to be blown and so when the sound was loud the speakers made snapping/popping noises which at some points was hard to concentrate on the film. Had the opportunity to catch Jumanji over the weekend at this theatre. I have to say that this is a hidden gem out in Battle Ground, WA. I have been to it a couple of times and this was the busiest I have ever seen it. When we pulled in to the parking lot we noticed a huge line at the box office. I guess all those people didn't know that you can go inside and buy your tickets and the concession stand. My wife jumped in the box office line just in case something had changed and I popped my head inside to check out the concessions. To my amazement, there was a sign that read, buy admission tickets here. I called my wife over and boom we were in the front of the line. Very disappointed to arrive and learn that the alcoholic drinks that are advertised and sold are not available in theaters 4 and 5. I live in town and visit the cinema here often and have always been able to purchase a drink for the movie. Additionally, the staff didn't seem to have an answer as to why no alcohol. The theater had very few people in attendance. Would appreciate some clarity as to why this new rule is in place. read more

Concessions are standard fare, complete with the usual popcorn, candy, etc. No beer sold here, though there is a pub right next door. The screens are not as large as what you'd find at some larger theaters, but you're closer because this theater is smaller so i think the experience is similar. read more

Every other row was blocked off and there were only about 10 people in the whole theater for the 4:50 showing. I felt pretty safe, but I honestly only went to a theater because my elderly mom wanted to go. I love supporting local business, and understand that this cinema isn't a big city, big money establishment. That's ok, I like that. But here's a tip: be careful what food you buy. If the employee gives you bad vibes about your selection, cancel your order and get something else. I just threw away my uneaten nachos. Very friendly staff but otherwise there are some issues. Their loyalty program requires more purchases than other theaters in order to get rewards. Their seating inside the theaters are cramped and many of the seats are broken. Also (this is nit-picky) they have the oldest/strangest pictures of movie stars in the theaters hallway that are kind of freaky. I actually think this could be a nice theater if they upgraded seating and some of the old pictures. read more

This place is clean and exactly what you would expect. Just one issue. The theater was so hot I could barely enjoy the movie.

I have lived in the area for 4 years and consistently go to the Battle Ground Cinema. Although the theatre is not as upgraded as the big chains, I have still had positive experiences here until recently. I have a highly functioning special needs friend who I regularly drop off for movies, and the last time I took him, due to his confusion, i came to pick him up and he was missing. I talked to a very rude blonde women in a blue shirt who claimed to be the manager. I tried to explain the situation to her and she started walking away and yelled at me to go sit and wait for her to come back. I then approached a man in a blue shirt who said he was also a manager. He was more presentable and helped me find my friend. I normally enjoy the theatre but I do not know why this blonde woman treated me like i do not belong. read more

The only downside for me was that o had to stand in the concession line waiting for people to buy snacks before I could get my ticket to see the movie. I'm originally from San Diego, Ca and in the last 6 or 7 years I've seen about 4 movies at a movie theater. It's safe to say I'm not a frequent moviegoer. This wasn't always the case. I can't say for sure when the movie going "experience" changed, but I did notice a change awhile back where I started noticing advertising being introduced to the moviegoers before the movie started. This wasn't the simple slide show advertising for local businesses. This was FULL ON advertising that we'd see if we were watching our Television at home. This was advertising from major brands like Coke and Nike. This changed everything from the classic movie going experience to a get out of a house to go see a television watching experience in a larger venue. I felt like I was being screwed big time by movie theater companies. Here I was paying $8 to $10 per movie to be subjected to the same type of advertising I'd see if I was at home watching my TV. I was paying someone who was in turn making even more money by advertising to me. I was paying someone to show me advertising. I was disgusted by the thought and decided right then and there that if everyone else wants to be suckers and let the movie theater companies screw them that's fine by me. However, I wasn't going to be a sucker and stopped going to the movies. I ended up giving in to my conviction of not going to a movie at a movie theater when my wife wanted to go see a movie that she really wanted to experience on the big screen. We were on vacation at the time, visiting family who live in Amboy, a small town near Battle Ground, and decided since we were on vacation we'd do something different. Wow, what a great experience. We were pleasantly surprised that Battle Ground Cinemas wasn't a sell out and that we weren't subjected to a bunch of TV like ads that we could have stayed at home to watch. We had a true movie going experience the way it should be. I've now relocated to Amboy, Washington to be closer to family, and although I probably won't frequent a movie theater as much as I did in the past, as long as Battle Ground Cinemas doesn't become greedy I can see myself going to movies a whole lot more than I have these last few years.
