Meh. Decent food. It's basic bar & grill type food. Plenty of options. The guys thought the pizza was good but average. I was trying to eat light, so I had the grilled chicken breasts with veggies. I must say it was nice and moist and a generous portion. We all got plenty to eat and left full, which is a positive. The highlight and everyone's favorite was the soft pretzel with beer cheese appetizer. This one was above average, very good. The service was a little subpar. We stopped in after normal dinnertime hours, around 8:30 p.m., so luckily it wasn't busy, because the bartender had to bartend AND wait on tables. So he was stretched too thin. In his defense, there was a private party upstairs, so the wait staff was sent upstairs to tend to the party. However, they should have had enough staff on hand to handle both the regular business in addition to the party. Being that it used to be a lumber business, I did think the building was really neat. I was very underwhelmed by the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. The store bought BBQ sauce was just poured on top of braised pork like ketchup. I should have had a clue when I walked in and the place was empty, while another place two or three doors down was busy. It was extremely noisy, despite being empty. The noise came from line dancing classes in the space above the bar/restaurant, and the games along the wall which weren't being played One tip to the young lady who was my server - Please don't call people "dear" or "honey". Don't even bother. We went in and, although it was crowded, were able to find a booth. Waited 10 minutes as no less than three servers walked by us, two made eye contact and basically ignored us. I walked to the bar and asked if I'd have to order from there, which wouldn't be a problem, but they said someone would be at our table soon. Food was not good, burgers and chicken were obviously frozen, it did not taste good yet was very expensive. The asked for my card because it was "game day" and held it until we were done. They have some good pizza and wings but this place has gotten SO DIRTY. The women's bathroom is awful and the sinks are coming off of the walls. The floors and toilets are just so gross and the main restaurant is usually a bit dirty. They need to have a better cleaning system and more regular. read more

Everything about this place was a mess. Walked in and asked a server if I seat myself and he said yes, after I sat down I waited over 30 minutes to get a menu and a drink order. The food was practically microwaved food. We tried several things and nothing was good, down to the stale chips. We clearly didn't eat anything or ask for boxes but the server made no comment. I had to get up twice to find our server to get our check. The service and food were horrible. read more

We came on a Monday night around 9pm so not the most popular time lol.. we were the only ones there for a majority of the time, but it was ok because of the many TV's and the great music they were playing!! I feel like I have been a frequent customer of OLC for the past few years, always loved their wing deals. The past few times I have come to get their wing deals, something is always upcharged for no reason. One time, their ranch was 75 cents for a half little cup, didn't tell us at all until the bill. And this time, there were no free refils on soda?? What other restaurant doesn't give free refils for diet coke? Customer service is just horrible, the girl should have said that soda was extra if it was, not when i realize i have to pay 6$ for a soda that costed them .50 cents. Arrived to a fairly empty space. Maybe 4-5 people were in with me for the first little bit. Took about 10 minutes for anyone to even walk up and ask me if I wanted anything. With 3-4 employees just sitting around and not doing much, that definitely irked me a bit. When ordering, I ordered the Purple Grain brew and it was good. Food was mediocre bar food. I was not overly impressed with the food. The decor is quite eclectic. I say this because it has your typical beer signs, but it also is a game room with arcade games and a pool table sharing the space. Lived in Vermillion for over four years and was never quite satisfied with OLC, as the locals call it. Drinks are overpriced compared to other bars in town and the service is mediocre. The whole place is overhyped. Positives include free peanuts to snack on anytime, cool bathrooms, and a clean, new dining space. The building/space is very nice. Large rectangular bar, great tap beer system. They have Angry Orchard on tap...my favorite. Their menu isn't huge, but it's nice. Burgers, wraps, salads, usual appetizers. I had BBQ chicken nachos, they were great. I plan to bring my husband here sometime. I think he'll love the place. Nice restrooms! By far the best bar in Vermillion if you are looking to just go out and enjoy some quality beverages while hanging out with your friends and the locals. The food is typical bar food, but nothing to complain about. There are plenty of good beers on tap. As for the building, it is beautiful and spacious. It is made completely out of wood. The pillars and ceiling beams are absolutely massive, but only seem to impress people who know a lick about construction. There is also a dance floor upstairs. Overall, choose "OLC" if you want to go to a clean, fun "sports" bar without the crowds and noise. read more

If what you're looking for is a good location to watch a game while you have a drink, this is the best spot in Vermillion, as long as you don't mind having to go to the bar to ask for a refill. In the years it's been open, they have YET to figure out any basic level of service. Staff will be standing around chatting and still not come back to check on tables. The food is good...if and when you manage to get it. The fried portobello mushrooms are our favorite. The menu is pretty limited, mostly appetizers. If you want a meal, try another bar or a real restaurant. Still hoping they figure it out because it's a good location and has so much potential. read more

Pretty sure we were served odd fake chicken instead of a very plain hamburger. Such a small menu. No milk and nothing for kids, yet the entire space was filled with pre-teen, teen game players. I have only been here once, it was a Saturday night, maybe around 7-8 PM. It was fairly busy, but not too much. There was a wedding party going on upstairs I think, because we could hear the very loud music thumping from up there. There was also a lot of stomping around and what not coming from above, and a few children dressed up nicely running around downstairs, who came from upstairs. Great bar, bad food. Let me say first I love the atmosphere, the staff, the TV's, the beer selection and everything about the bar, but I can't recommend eating here. My first experience was ok. I had a simple, though a bit tendon-filled, chicken sandwich that was fine. Portion was fine, it was cooked through but just a bit blah. However, my second experience was bad. I ordered chicken wings with fries and my table mate ordered fried pickle spears. It took a very long time for our order to come out, and we saw a table that came in after us get their food first. Ouch. There were only 4 tables in tbe place. The Spears were a standard, frozen, from a bag spear. No complaints on those. But my wings were made using old chicken. Like, seriously I can taste that these have nearly turned rancid old. On top of that, I was still charged for the wings after calmly, nicely telling the server the kitchen should check their wings for being past their prime. Sure, I got a free beer out of the deal, but the beer wasn't the problem, the wings were. Go for the beer, go for the peanuts and TV's, but I'll never get anything but fried fare if I go again. read more

Awful service. Went in on Sunday at 12 and they didn't have the full menu out. Ordered and then they switched the menus 10 minutes later. Could have easily told us to wait if we would like. OLC is kind of like that kid that has a lot of potential and is really bright but ends up failing and getting into trouble all the time. And you really wonder why it's like that, then you meet their parents and you're like OH. That kid is the whole venue of OLC and that parent is Chad, who is the owner of OLC. He's a bum and an asshole. There's been multiple times I've been in or been told about by friends where Chad berates his employees heavily. He's been known to hold back checks and not pay his employees on time. Then we can get to how overpriced the menu is. A basket of 6 wings is 10 dollars! Is that a joke? These things are so mid. When you treat your employees like garbage visibly, no one is going to support your business. They have an amazing wide open space bar, an amazing rooftop, and karaoke, yet they still can't get their prices and morals figured out. Old Lumber Company is the "new bar" in Vermillion. There must be 30 large TVs around the bar. They have a lot of beers on tap and I'm pretty sure it's a full bar, but I'm not 100% on that. They have peanuts free for people to snack on while they have a few drinks or are waiting for their burger or wings when the kitchen is open (until 10 PM). The bathroom are really neat too. read more
