I wish I'd had a better experience here. I came in on a Tuesday at 1 o'clock for a walk-in appointment. After waiting a half hour, another walk-in came in and was told that they were fully booked for the day (I had not been told that, nor given any estimated wait time). I'm not sure when my haircut was going to be squeezed in if they were fully booked, but after a total of 45 minutes and still no haircut or ETA in sight, I walked out the door. I understand the perils of walking-in, but that doesn't mean I can't be given appropriate warning about the potential wait. And maybe make an extra effort as I put on my coat and explain why I'm leaving, to maybe salvage a new relationship? Better communication would have virtually ensured them a new recurring customer, as my former salon has closed and I'm shopping for a new one. read more

I've at 3:00 pm and I've been waiting for 45 min to get a shape up the female beautician has been on the phone for over 30 min. the other two barbers has taken two heads ahead of me. Great barbers, professional service, and a funky and stylish barbershop. I have received great haircuts from Frank and Bubs (hope I'm remembering their names correctly!), but you can't go wrong with any of the barbers there. The price is standard for a men's haircut in Baltimore, although the barbershop accepts cash only. This place is definitely an asset to the Remington area, and the owners have done the old row home justice in the way they've refinished it. read more

I've been coming to Old Market for a few years now, and I'm still a huge fan. Yesterday, I had a wonderful experience with Sarah - she was kind, cheerful and very attentive and detail-oriented. She took her time perfecting my haircut. When I got home, my bf was blown away at how sexy I looked. He said Sarah did a fantastic job - and that's high praise coming from him as he's a perfectionist with his hair. This place is definitely the best haircut I've had in Baltimore. I have been here 3 times in the last 3 months and had my hair cut by 3 different people, and I have always loved the result. I usually go to Old Bank Hampden, but they are always so busy it often takes well over an hour to get in and out. I tried the Remington location in a effort to save time today and it was much quicker with the same high quality/low price haircut they are known for. Ive gotten my hair cut a lot at the Hampden one and this time at Old Market in Remington the cut was just as good and a whole lot quicker. Didn't even have time to finish my Natty Boh before my name was called. They aren't always perfect, but always solid. I've been complimented/asked where I go quite a bit after getting a fresh cut and /or recommended to multiple people telling them "the worst haircut I've gotten at Old Bank/Market is still better than the best haircut I've gotten anywhere else". That said, please don't go here, I would like it if the wait times stay reasonable. read more

Just a tad smaller here, but easy to find and parking is pretty much level with Old Bank. Check out the schedule so you can come see your favorite barber. Just for clarification: I don't get my hair cut but these awesome guys, my teenager does. He sees Bubs, who has helped him figure out what haircut suits him. Bubs has been a driving force in making sure my kid is confident in what he wants and how to ask for it- making sure he is ready for when he leaves for college and (sadly) will have to find a new barber. read more

After getting disgusted with myself for getting botched haircuts at the local el cheapo barber shop, I drove into the city to Old Market. Parking at that location is easier than Old Bank. Got two haircuts here. First time was super uneven and way shorter than I asked but thought about giving it a second shot. Went back two months later. Was extraordinarily specific about the fact I just wanted a slight trim. He cut my hair extraordinarily short, it is super uneven, looks terrible and there is this one spot he cut a massive hole that is way shorter than anything else. Will unfortunately need to go back as its the most accessible one in the area but will make sure to get any other barber in the place next time. To be clear, this place has given my friend great haircuts, just the guy I got both times screwed me over. read more
