It is a large venue that is open and bright with plenty of seating and parking. My dining companion is a beer connoisseur reason we selected Old Nation to visit. We stopped in for a bev and a snack and opted for the pretzel and cheese, a giant homemade root beer and a beer. Everything we had was delicious! We sat at the nice sized bar and the bartenders were great! There are plenty of TV's for game day also! Not a bad seat in the house. Just down the road from where I live is one of the best little breweries you can find. Their food is delicious and bountiful. The staff is courteous and take their time with you. But the beer is everything you came for. I love this brewery. It's clean, well lit, spacious, and it's almost always spot on. The novelty of dining at a brewery is that you are in for a treat most often. From the sample flights of malted goodness to the homegrown novelty of picking up merchandise with your favorite brewery on it for bragging rights later Is a complete lure But Old Nation does something different. Yikes! So Steve and I did an IPA outing here at Old Nation. This has been a brewery I've been wanting to try for a while and I finally got my wish. We got the Boss Tweed Double IPA and boy does this IPA have a bite and a punch. Granted I started drinking it just a few minutes before eating but it definitely left a buzzy impression on me. Coming in at around 9% abv I suppose I shouldn't wonder why too much. This hazy, smooth IPA also packs quite a punch in flavor which is why I said "yikes" at the beginning. It's a good beer but a bit on the intense side. So be judicious with this one. But again, still an enjoyable drinking experience! read more

We both needed tagabrews from here so we hopped in the car and took a day trip. This is one of our favorite things to do together. I can't wait for things to start opening up early again so we can get an earlier start. But for now we make it work. He made a reservation which was probably a good idea. They weren't packed but it was pretty busy. I ordered a brown (big shock haha) and he ordered an Oktoberfest. We then realized my beer was 9.1... I am a lightweight!! So when we finished, we ended up trading and I drank what he had and he had what I had. Lol. Our waitress, although very sweet, seemed very off. Like when you talked to her she looked confused. I almost thought she was stoned or something. She was also pretty slow, and it was difficult to understand why. It wasn't very busy and there were enough servers. The other waitress was bubbly and on top of things. It was sort of weird. He ordered the pulled pork tots and was unfortunately disappointed. There was very little pulled pork on them and quite underwhelmed. I ordered the salmon salad and it was amazing! Nice portion size and full of flavor. Overall the beer was great as was the food. And we would totally come back! They participate in hop passport so we both got ours stamped which gives you 50% off two beers. So we got 4 beers for the price of 2. Can't beat that! Have always enjoyed the food here. They had a great Mac & Cheese dish with the option of multiple add ons to kick it up. Just discovered that they nixed their pulled pork off of the add on list which pretty much diminishes what was a great menu item. Both over done!! When all burgers compared together it appears they were probably pre-made then over cooked in the heating process. Well it's a Brewery! House pick was exceptionally good. Friends agreed in all of their choices. Good place to meet friends for a cold one! Outside patio seating with umbrellas. Waitstaff efficient but could care less about the poorly made burgers! I went here for lunch on a Friday and it was nice and quiet. The beer was fresh and so was the food; both were fantastic. This brewery beats them all everybody knows the story about the hazy IPA M43 and it's a good one, but look at all the awesome beers they've come up with to follow that up... I'm addicted to B43 lighter mouthful than the original But it's got all the flavor packed into the best brut style IPA anywhere in the country... then for shits and giggles they do grapefruit M 43? That thing tastes like you take a fresh grapefruit slice it in half and stick your face in it but my jam is one of the offerings in the new orthodox series TURPS it's got it all smooth, high alcohol content double IPA it's one of the best they've ever made and don't sleep on the taproom restaurant it's got a little something for everybody read more

Everything tasted great, big portions, didn't even come for the beer, though I enjoyed the sour on the menu as well! The dining/bar area is open and light, and they have a small patio to eat outside. We were happy with our beers, and there were 14 on tap. We tried the wheat beer and the IPA, and both were delicious. The food was a selection of pub fair, nothing crazy but a couple of unique items like a beef pasty and a pretzel. We especially enjoyed the pretzel, Reuben sandwich, and the brussels sprouts. The chicken strips were just so-so. Overall service was friendly and attentive. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and found the atmosphere to be child friendly, and they also had some excellent specials on the kid's meals. It's so nice to have friendly competent cooks and waitstaff nowadays, it is the difference from having an awful dining experience to a super one. Let me start with the fact that we had phenomenal service! Been drinking their beer for years but never stopped in for the food. I took my family tonight (Friday) and it was well worth the 30 minute wait. Large serving of cheese curds which were phenomenal. I highly suggest the avocado steakhouse burger which is what I had with onion rings which are the best kind of onion rings (beer battered). Great place. They make my husband's current favorite beer the M-43, so we definitely had to come by. I have always liked IPA but I have to say the M-43 just doesn't do it for me. The Sanders Bumpy cake was pretty tasty. They have a good beer selection overall and we tried a few samples. As for wine, not really any good choices. Their rootbeer was delicious! I love the look of the place and they also have some outdoor seating which is where we sat on our first visit. We've been twice now. The menu is quite large with a lot of tasty choices. We haven't had the chance to try anything yet and they didn't have any gluten free choices that I saw or that the waitress mentioned. As for service it definitely needs improvement. I'd recommend the first 2 but not the pretzel. The pretzel was a hunk of tasteless dough. The mustard was good but the cheese dip tasted weird. They should rethink that one. Stopped there a while back to try some beers. Remember them being generally good, with the 6 pack we took home, Golden 7 Weizenbock, being outstanding, one of the best beers I've ever had (which puts it up against a lot of competition). We returned yesterday while driving home from up north for a late lunch. We sample three of their "hazy" IPAs--M43, Greenstone, and Boxer. All were good, certainly outside the flavor profile of most IPAs. We ordered pints of the subtly tart M43. My wife got a basic burger, I ordered the chorizo burger, which consisted of a beef patty topped by a chorizo patty and a deep fried avocado half. Mostly I tasted chorizo, not a bad thing itself, but I expected a bit of contrast to that. The queso topping really added no flavor at all. My wife thought her burger was ok. It came cooked well done instead of medium. Nothing to rave about but nothing to send back. We finished with a tulip of the Overprivileged imperial stout, which I thought was a near-perfect version of the style, moderately roasty with good coffee and chocolate flavors and a lingering booziness. We'll be back. There are some other interesting looking menu choices, and the beers are bound to be good. read more
