I rarely shop at Ala Moana Center (AMC) as parking and heavy foot traffic keeps me away. Just the other month, a former colleague and good friend came back to Hawaii for just a few days and we spent the day together. After a quick lunch at Don Quixote, she wanted to go shopping so we headed to AMC and headed to Ross Dress For Less to take advantage of 10% off senior discount on Tuesdays. After shopping at Ross, we had time to kill to meet her nephew and decided to move on over to neighboring Old Navy (ON). ON has been around for quite some time. How long do you ask? They started in 1994 by parent company Gap Inc. and has grown to over 1100 stores worldwide. ON's window fall display drew my friend in as there these suede boots was a fall coat that really appealed to her. We made our way in and our lucky stars lined up as the boots were in her size and had the color she wanted and had the coat in her size of extra small. She tried the coat on and just loved it. However, there were 2 things that concerned her: the weak Japanese yen against the US dollar and that many people had probably touched that coat and wanted a new one. Sadly, after going through store inventory, it was revealed that was the last extra small on hand. She asked if they would drop the price where the associate declined but instead offered to have her open a credit card for an automatic discount. My friend now declares her residence full time in Japan and the thought of billing discouraged the purchase. She instead just bought some suede boots and festive fall accessories, and then headed to the checkout line. It was disappointing that there were only 2 associates behind the counter. Those associates were assisting customers checking out where they had a lot of items. The associates engaged with the customers as we witnessed laughing here and there. Time ticked and then next thing we noticed the line grew 10+ customers now waiting to check out. We were in line for about 15min waiting until finally a 3rd associate came down to assist with checkout. Our turn arrived where we paid for our purchase and walked out. Mixed feelings on my recent visit where customer service should have been better. It wasn't meant for my friend to get the coat. I've shopped at ON multiple times previously and have also received gifts purchased here. Prices are affordable and of good quality which makes me return to ON. 2025 #65 read more

Why da boys get all the fun... The mens area for some reason has much more fun and hilarious print shirts which some does say it's unisex but wished if it's so have a unisex section so that we all are able to see them as well...not sure if Hello Kitty falls in that category btw nevertheless I love Old Navy as they have so much to choose from especially with the current seasonal trend including holidays as you're able to express yourself in many ways from head to toe. This Ala Moana Center location is located on the lower street level all the way near Ross's with a couple of entrances from either the mall level across from Longs's by escalator or walk in on the street level facing the beach. Super spacious and so much to see I usually love their shirts and the prints and some collaboration with fun characters are a great deal that not many places do offer is so hard to resist and as summer is approaching having something cool to wear is a must and with lots of price friendly items and staff that are nice and helpful it's a place for everyone. I was visiting from another island and I was on my summer vacation. I thought I'd take a look around Old Navy. It was on July 5th in the earlier part of the evening between 4 pm and 5 pm and I was so excited to try on some clothes that were on sale in the fitting room. The worker, an older woman, who was working in the fitting room had the most obnoxious attitude that I've ever encountered. Pouty face no personality. I feel sorry for the other workers having to deal with someone with her demeanor. Hopefully the managers who work there will discipline workers like her who have such shitty attitudes. I wasn't familiar with this brand of clothing back-in-da-dayz, but to my understanding , it is owned by Gap. Old Navy features casual wear, and the prices on their clothing is incredible, especially when you can get it on sale, or when it's marked down! It was a wonderful experience. I found a coat but there wasn't any other sizes. I can and associate to call the other stores and see if they could hold it for me. The great part as well is that the coat was available at the other store and they were willing to hold it for me and the coat was on sale! The price of the coat was 50% off. Shopping at Old Navy today was truly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt off. The greeter at the door was noticeably rude and snarky -- not the warm welcome you'd expect, especially in Hawai'i. At checkout, things didn't improve. The cashier was too busy chatting with a friend, openly making fun of someone -- whether it was a customer or someone they knew personally, it was unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness. When our personal shopping bag broke, we asked for a replacement and were told that it was store policy to purchase a bag. Rather than argue, we bought a $4 pack of gum just to get a bag -- which, ironically, was a large one we could've used all along to continue shopping. It felt petty and unnecessarily frustrating. We also asked for assistance with swimwear, only to be told -- quite rudely -- that they didn't have any because "it's not the season." This is O'ahu. The beach is always in season. Even if inventory is low, there's a way to respond with basic courtesy -- something clearly lacking here. We ended up buying just one shirt and putting the rest back. As we left, one of the store managers did say "Hi" while chatting with another manager, but by that point, the damage was done. The entire experience felt cold, disorganized, and completely lacking the aloha spirit. The inventory was underwhelming, and we ended up going to UNIQLO instead -- a much better experience overall. I've never been more dissatisfied with an Old Navy visit. It's unfortunate, because I used to enjoy shopping here. read more

Hubby and I came here to look at the clearance section. I didn't find anything I liked here. I needed new jeans but didn't find any on sale in my size. They all looked too big in my size and some jeans had pre ripped at the knees. Ughh. I can't wear ripped jeans to work lol. Many different sizes too, and well stocked. My husband is small built, and he prefer his shirts from here because it is soft, lightweight, and isn't too long. I came here for my last minute Father's Day gift. It was really an act of desperation at this point. I went to another store in the morning and I just couldn't find something that he would like. Then I looked in my email and saw one from Old Navy. Old Navy/Gap is good about sending emails about specials and deals they have. They send one everyday so if you're not into that maybe signing up for emails are not such a good idea. Anyway, on that Father's Day, they had shorts on sale. Old Navy is a little far from my house so I decided to check out their online options. It looked like it was available for pick up at the Ala Moana location. So I added two pairs of shorts to my cart. It was so simple. Then I checked to text me when the order is ready. Less than two hours later, it was ready. There's no curbside pickup, I don't think, so I went inside to pick it up. It was so fast and easy. The lady at the front of the store directed me to the pick up counter and I just waited for someone to come and bring my shorts out. It was wonderful. I'm so glad that their service was so quick. I was in and out of there in five minutes and my dad had a Father's Day present in time. Double score! read more

Old Navy is ok I mean fashion wish. They really great for basics. Occasionally, they'll come out with one great shirt out of 20, or a dress for women which sell out fast. But basic clothing is usually decent quality. I'll usually just pick up some basic work polos and some shorts and bathing suit i'll take on the trails and get get mud stained. It's great for tourist though, if you're short on something its consistent nationwide and cheap so you know it fits. read more

The store might not have the kind of clothes I'm out looking for, but, as a Gap brand, they carry the banner and customer service seems decent. Sales help are friendly and fairly available. Only nit is that it's got struck a strange layout, as the main entrance off the mall at Ala Moana is a stairway and escalator heading downstairs. You'd've thunk they'd've just leased space on the main mall level and be done with it rather than hassle with being a story below. read more

I don't usually shop at Old Navy, but this was my first time in years. Literally, years!! On this day, I think the air conditioner was broken because it was quite warm, but thankfully there were fans throughout the store. All around the store had sales - from tops, sweaters, pants, jeans, jackets, and almost anything you're looking for (men, women, and children). There was a special rack by the register with different clothing for a clearance price. I found a great tank top for an event for my work. The original price was $16, but with the sales event, it came out to be $11!! What a deal! At the register, you can add your email address and they'll send you sales, which is daily :) The layout of the store was a bit confusing first - especially the dressing room. The dressing room had many rooms. The attendant was very helpful and thorough with her job. Although there was a line, she gave great customer service by greeting them and apologizing for the wait. She also was great to talk to as well. At the register, the clerk was also kind and great conversationalist. Two thumbs up! read more

The few times I shopped here and needed help, I had to walk around to find an employee yet I've been greeted each time I went in. I love old navy! This location always has great customer service and lots of deals. In my opinion, this store has way more deals than the outlet in Waikele. Everywhere I look I always see clearance signs and just dropped signs...I mean who doesn't love a good deal?! Fitting rooms are open and I notice they sanitize after every customer and only have every other room open, I'm sure for social distancing purposes. I'm also sure they have a store capacity but I've never had to wait in line so that's a plus. read more

Careful guys... i bought shorts on sale for $15. Good price, couldn't go wrong, HOWEVER...be aware..the shorts label says 10" inseam, butbthere actually 9" inseams. When i got home i looked at the receipt and it said 9", but the label says 10".. i returned them and questioned a "sales" person, I use that term lightly, she said, "yes we sell our 9" as 10"...." HUH? As the only Old Navy located in Honolulu, this location at Ala Moana Center next to the former Sears building is busy. The store has a huge selection of apparel to choose from at affordable prices. The experience of shopping here can be troublesome though. It seems like a storm has passed through with clothes on the ground or in unfolded clumps from the crowds that have come through. This seems to indicate that perhaps they don't have enough staff to keep the store orderly. Lines are also particularly bad. Especially for Black Friday. There are 12 checkout lines, but only half were open when I visited on BF. They go slow enough to make you feel whether should even bother standing in the line to wait. If you can deal with a little adversity, you will be awarded with some deals here. If you can't deal with the pain of B&M shopping of searching, trying on clothes and checking out which can be a hour ordeal, I would suggest shopping on the Old Navy website instead for your needs. read more

Their AC was off and by the time it got turned back on, the place was overloaded and like an oven. Its usually fine though. Havent shopped at Old Navy in years but as my style needed more basic items I realized, that they have amazing deals and steals especially when you sign up for their mailing list. If you sign up for their mailing list online, you get special steals on items that are special to you and may not be available to the general public. They also always have a special code that is emailed to you for additional savings. My new fav thing is their "buy online pick up in store option" mainly because i hate browsing and parking at Ala Moana can be a huge mess and i never want to spend time trying on clothes in the store. With this option, I can buy all the items I want online with my special discount (all while lying in bed in my pajamas or in my underwear/bathing suit), and then someone in the store can grab and pull all the items, put them in a nice bag for me and then when i get there i can walk straight to the FRONT of the line, dont have to wait at all, just waltz up to the "buy online pick up in store" sign and grab my items since they are already paid for. Super Super easy. Then I can go home try it all on in the comfort of my own home and if I need to return anything, then i have 90 days to do so. When I went there I was treated amazingly by Bruce, super helpful and got me in and out of there within 5 min. Old navy has recently remodeled making the store a lot more accessible and easy to find items. I love that the cash registers are in the middle of the store rather than in the front. It makes it that much more space efficient and room for more clothing! Love it! I also felt that it was much more organized than in the past other than their clearance rack that always seems to be jam packed with clothing everywhere! I got really lucky and found a shirt on sale for a little toddler and it came out to only $1.97!! Where can you find that anywhere else?! I'm sure that if I had the patience to look through the racks I would find a lot more deals like that! I just don't, so I will never get that! They have different apparel ranging from sports wear to children's clothing. Everything for the entire family! Nice cotton clothing at an affordable price. They also have accessories like slippers, beach accessories, and little things for sale at checkout. Great place to find gifts as well! They are currently having a sale on their entire store is 50% off or less. Pretty good deals! They even carry character tees such as Spider-Man, and other trademark characters. Definitely super cute for the kids and even the men! The staff are very friendly and are willing to help. Checkout was quick and they will try to offer you to get a credit card. I only occasionally shop here so I don't really need one. Only down side is that they are on the ground floor and is difficult to get there if you have a stroller. There is an escalator going down across from longs and next to banana republic. There is also another entrance facing the parking structure ocean side. Very large Old Navy store located in the Ala Moana mall. They have pretty much anything you could want from Old Navy, the selection is not lacking. The store is pretty well kept. There's a lot of inventory so it seems never ending but still neat. The staff is friendly and helpful. My one and only complaint is there are never checkout registers opened. I've been to this store 3 separate occasions and every time there's been an absolutely ridiculous line. This last time I put my stuff back without purchasing it was that long of a line almost to the door. read more

Old Navy always has deals. Their logos isn't shown too often on their products themselves and that's a good thing. My friend and I started looking around at the different items and deals that they have to offer. The first thing that caught our attention where the Christmas pajamas our professor showed us earlier that she had gotten her daughters. One I really liked in particular were the candy cane patterns. (Light bulb: figured out what to get someone for Christmas!) Anyways, I also looked at their flats. Sometimes people are so rude leaving the shoes they've tried on, on the floor. I was never really a fan of Old Navy, but just have recently found my love for it...especially the Ala Moana location. I started coming here for Christmas shopping, because they were having a pretty good deal a few days before Black Friday. I saw that they have recently renovated this location and I'm in love with it! The place is so bright, and everything is so easy to locate. If you can't find something, you're sure to find an employee near by who can help. They have a large selection of clothing for everyone in the family at a good price. I'm chang, I always look for a good deal. And since I have a lot of girls in the family that was on my Christmas list, I was able to find a ton of shirts on sale. To my surprise, a lot of the shirts that I was able to buy for 97 cents - $2.99 were all regular price at the other Old Navy locations, INCLUDING their outlet in Waikele. That would make it the main reason why I choose the Ala Moana location over the other ones. Also, they have a bathroom that's easy to locate, because it's right in the area where their dressing rooms are, too. I appreciate that they have bathrooms right there, because if I'm there with my baby and his stroller, I don't have to walk a good amount to find the nearest bathroom or go upstairs to the bathroom near Banana Republic. read more

This one, located down the escalators, adjacent to Sears, is just alright. It's usually pretty crazy with people, so the areas are not as nicely organized and tidy (sometimes the racks are way to full to look at, too). This particular location is huge too. You can either enter through the mall or the doors from the parking garage. I don't believe I ever bought anything here. Why do we keep coming here? Optimism, maybe. Curiosity, maybe. Familiarity with the brand, maybe. Ok, sometimes we use this store to get to the other stores located nearby (this is the only mall I know of, with so many nooks and crannies- stores/restaurants/coffee places are located in the parking garage and inside other stores, so it can be a bit confusing). read more
