Clearance section

Hubby and I came here to look at the clearance section. I didn't find anything I liked here. I needed new jeans but didn't find any on sale in my size. They all looked too big in my size and some jeans had pre ripped at the knees. Ughh. I can't wear ripped jeans to work lol. I was highly disappointed in the selection here as nothing was to my liking. I used to shop here but I hardly ever buy clothes here. The store was huge and organized. Hubby managed to find out daughter some nice pants on sale. The selection on clearance wasn't that great. It was just an okay experience.

I came here for my last minute Father's Day gift. It was really an act of desperation at this point. I went to another store in the morning and I just couldn't find something that he would like. Then I looked in my email and saw one from Old Navy. Old Navy/Gap is good about sending emails about specials and deals they have. They send one everyday so if you're not into that maybe signing up for emails are not such a good idea. Anyway, on that Father's Day, they had shorts on sale. Old Navy is a little far from my house so I decided to check out their online options. It looked like it was available for pick up at the Ala Moana location. So I added two pairs of shorts to my cart. It was so simple. Then I checked to text me when the order is ready. Less than two hours later, it was ready. There's no curbside pickup, I don't think, so I went inside to pick it up. It was so fast and easy. The lady at the front of the store directed me to the pick up counter and I just waited for someone to come and bring my shorts out. It was wonderful. I'm so glad that their service was so quick. I was in and out of there in five minutes and my dad had a Father's Day present in time. Double score!

I love this store for discount kids clothes and swim wear! Super affordable and they offer a military discount on top of sale prices! Great play clothes for the whole family!

Can never have too many socks and slippahs...

Old Navy Location: Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ground Level, Ewa End, Oceanside near Bloomingdales, Japan Village Walk, etc. Love this store. Hate the perpetually long check-out line. Be aware of your prices because sometimes they don't match with the cash registers. I can understand why it happens since they're always having a sale or things on markdown. Slippahs are stylishly cool. But I love the vinyl sandals. They make me flat footed but it's super comfortable & has good traction on wet & slippery floors. Knock on wood.

Upon entering you're warmly greeted & constantly checked over during the shopping trip which is always plus! The store takes in good quality items so you know what you're buying is something they would purchase for their own family. I could easily spend an hour in here just digging through the toy bin, racks of clothes & shelves. Parking lot can get busy at times but hasn't been an issue for me for the times I have been. Can't recommend this place enough when I know you have littles in your life who go thru so many growths & interests.

She's at the age where she changes shoe sizes every couple months and we're not sure she's going to be a Ginger Rogers. The store is somewhat cluttered with lots of great deals. Every square inch is covered with merchandise. The clerk/owner is Aloha friendly and will help you find something. Several other people were shopping for clothes and backpacks. We did find the tap shoes at about a third of the price of new shoes. What was nice is that she could try them on so we could sure they fit right before we bought them. She tried about six pair before we found the perfect fit. (She is a princess, for sure.) We also picked up a gymnastics leotard for her for a couple bucks. The shop has a small shared parking lot with free parking.

There was just one clerk there and the reason for this poor review is the way i was treated as a customer. I asked for a recommendation for what is popular and the woman pointed out an item, which I bought. When I went to check out, she was almost hostile, did not crack a smile, say thank you, or anything. When I asked for the gift receipt she said something like, "just a minute" and not in a nice way then kinda tossed the gift receipt at me. The items in the store are cute, but expensive, but I try to support small businesses. I've shopped here before and have never been treated this way. This woman was not a teenager or young help who did not know better. It may be awhile before I stop in here again bit hope their service improves.

I saw the sign where you could get 25% off an item in the window and went in. Maybe it was senior moment but lately I can go into a store for a specific item and leave with something else, only to kick myself when I got home. So when I went to purchase my items I completely forgot about the special. I wasn't reminded about it either. I went to Complete Kitchen and bought a couple of items there. The cashier was telling everyone about their sales and the discounts. So I went back to Up and Riding and asked if the items I bought (over $100) were eligible. They were and she did take 25% off the most expensive item. In terms of customer service the cashiers at Complete Kitchen were so much more helpful (not only to me because I heard their spiel to others too).

I would stock up on socks and sweaters with abandon from the Uniqlos closer to my home in San Francisco. That was why it surprised me that I would seek out this familiar store at the mammoth Ala Moana Center. However, I had seen a local vlogger's YouTube video where he showcased the Hawaiian-exclusive clothing they sell here. Jamie W and I decided to drop by when we were at Ala Moana. Although not at the scale of the Tokyo Ginza flagship, it's one of the global chain's larger stores with an expansive multi-floor space. They offer the Brands Hawaiian Loco line, which is quite a distinct array of T-shirts spotlighting locally renowned businesses like Leonard's Bakery, Hawaiian Airlines, and Zippy's. I even bought one featuring a bowl of Zippy's saimin called Zipmin (Photo 4). I also really liked their line of aloha shirts because designs came from top quality Japanese block prints. I fell in love with one shirt based on Hokusai's "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa". I had never seen one like that before. They even offer opportunities to customize T-shirts and tote bags using exclusive designs from local artists. There's enough here to justify a shopping expedition. If you think one Uniqlo is like another, reconsider and come here. RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://yelp.to/06Oa2Epa6T
