The shoes were in perfect condition, with the tags and receipt, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. When he attempted to return them, the employee acted as though they no longer accepted shoe returns. My husband has an accent and is not originally from this country, and the way he was treated made us very uncomfortable and concerned that he was being treated differently because of that. I called the store afterward to clarify the return policy and was assured that there was no policy preventing them from accepting a return on shoes. Then traveled out of the country. Before leaving, a manager had assured us that they would take care of the situation when we returned. Unfortunately, by the time we came back, we were outside the return window for receiving the money back on the original payment method. The new manager we dealt with was not understanding or considerate of the situation. In fact, she told us that even the store manager might not be able to do anything, but that manager would not be back for another five days. After everything that had happened, we were left wondering what the purpose of waiting another five days would be. We ultimately accepted store credit just to resolve the situation and move on. Then, as we were leaving, we could see the three employees together through the window, laughing shortly after our interaction. Whether they were laughing about us or not, that is certainly how it appeared, and it was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. This entire situation could have been handled so easily with basic communication, understanding, and customer service. Instead, it became a frustrating experience from beginning to end. Nordstrom has a reputation for taking care of its customers. Unfortunately, this particular experience was the complete opposite. I sincerely hope management reviews what happened, because every customer deserves to be treated with respect and dignity--regardless of their accent, background, or how they communicate.

The staff took their time with the hat and made sure it looked right instead of rushing through it. They were also great with the boots, helping me figure out what size actually worked for me across different styles and brands. That part matters because cowboy boot sizing can feel like it was invented by someone who wanted to make online shopping impossible. What I appreciated most was that they weren't pushy. They clearly knew their stuff, explained the differences, and seemed to genuinely enjoy helping me find the right fit. When he visited me recently, his Sperry Top-Siders were worn nearly clean through. The heels were cracked and the soles were really thin at the balls of his feet. I Yelped for some nearby stores and found Casual Male XL on Baseline, on the south side of the road near Gilbert Road. The guy who works there greeted us when we walked in. The company website, although not specific to this store, led me to believe there'd be a sizable shoe selection--there really isn't at this particular store. Dad really needed a new pair of shoes...he never complains about anything and wouldn't buy himself new shoes unless his foot fell through the bottom, so I was a bit disappointed because I wanted to get him a new pair. However, we did find a pair of Deer Stag shoes in the top-sider model. He tried them on and loved them. And they were on sale! In addition to shoes, they have jeans, slacks, T-shirts, dress shirts, underwear, polos, and suits. I didn't buy any of those items (yet) but I'll be back.
