My husband and I had a travel agent book us this amazing place in 2015. I fell in love with it so much I came back with my best friend in 2017. It's a very reasonably priced place for everything you endure here. It's a restored little castle that you are encouraged to explore during your stay. It's located on a farm that you are welcome to collect eggs, milk cows and pet the animals (optional). The inside of this place is something out of a Victorian dream or something you see in a movie. Very exquisite interior, sparkly clean, spacious rooms, cozy and comfortable. Water is provided in your rooms, outside food or drink is not accepted (understandably). It's a completely divine experience you will never forget. The hosts are wonderful and deliver such heartfelt hospitality. In the mornings they go above and beyond for a breakfast, milk and cheese made on their farm. They have a lovely menu you are sure to want more. The first time I stayed here, my husband and I were the only ones on the entire facility. The staff had a huge presentation of a delicious breakfast buffet, I was blown away. I had the exact same experience the second time with two other families and it was lovely. I truly can't express enough how much I love this place, I would move here and work here in a heartbeat. I want so much for everyone to enjoy what I can only dream of. I've traveled a handful of countries and many places in the US, I have never had a move gorgeous memory. We stayed at Faithlegg House and Golf Club when visiting the Waterford area. When driving into the…read moregrounds, the views are breathtaking! The golf course is expansive and there is the hotel house, pro shop, clubhouse, cocktail lounge, and formal restaurant on site. When checking into our rooms, we quickly realized that we were not in the correct rooms per our reservation. We had a golf course view rather than garden view and bed sizes were incorrect. Management was not able to do anything till the following day but accommodated our group for the error with a comped 3 course dinner and drinks in the formal dining room. The food between dinner and breakfast was some of the best we've tried on the trip thus far for flavor. Drinks were also made extremely well and the hotel offers free live music in the lounge every other day from 9:30 - 11:30pm. The rooms were very spacious and beautifully historical. The bathrooms appeared to be updated in opposition to the rooms. Note that all rooms do not have air conditioning but they supply each room with a fan and certain windows can open. Golfing didn't start till around 8am so noise wasn't an issue in the mornings. The drive into town was about 20-25 minutes and ubers/taxi rides were about 20-26 euros to get there. Overall, we had a tough start to our experience but they did take care of us, the grounds were beautiful, and it was wonderful staying somewhere that was historical.

There was a signature drink in the lobby upon arrival to refresh you after a long day exploring. Check-in was a breeze; they handed you an old-style key for your room. The rooms were nice with an added raised area to be able to put your luggage. The restaurant was very accommodating of a gluten allergy, and they would walk me through what was available and change some of the items on the menu to fit my dietary needs. He went so far as to provide us with a ride to town when we wanted to go out to eat for dinner. My husband is on a strict diet due to allergies, and Des was able to provide us with gluten-free toast for breakfast, which was fantastic. The room itself had a wonderful view and was so cute and homey. The whole house is decorated very nicely and has dried flowers all over. This is a very historical home with an abandoned castle on its grounds, which you can explore at your leisure. In the sitting room was a book about the history of the castle and how it came to its current state. It was very interesting and Des was able to provide some additional insight on this matter as well as other local history. The next thing we noticed was the stained carpet and the noise coming from outside of the window. Once we use the bathroom, we saw that the sink was not draining and in the shower the water was so hot that you couldn't use it without burning yourself. When went downstairs to complain and to ask for a different room, we were told that there was none available and that we would have to wait till the next day. We were also told that the noise outside the window was coming from a kitchen fan and that it would stop momentarily. This was not true and the noise continued throughout the night. The manager was barely apologetic and did not offer us a discount on the room or even to buy us breakfast the next morning. Overall, I think this could have been handled much better. We were given a better room the next day. Although we ended up staying for the next few days, I would not recommend this hotel again. If you're hoping for a river view, you probably won't get it as most windows do not face out that way. Instead, you will probably end up with a view of the roof and equipment. The food in the restaurant was actually very good. You can tell that their main focus is special events, like weddings, as they were constantly busy. If you're ever offered room 103, I suggest that you pass as that room is noisy, smells and does not offer Air Conditioning in the summer.

I met them in the lift, the halls, and everywhere. Food I ordered was wrong. Breakfast - I didn't bother, but reports back from family was that they were out of everything and closed earlier than supposed to and had a ridiculously early closing breakfast on a weekend to start with. Staff were nice but check-in was a disaster. So as the manager stated they wedding party called to say how happy there were. I can guarantee, I am related to this wedding party, they would be happy in a tent in Mosney, in fact that would be upscale for them. So if your standards are low then you will not be disappointed, and if you are as delusional as the manager then possibly you will think you hit the jackpot. However if you are a normal well balanced human being and are looking for a decent 4* hotel, this is not it.
