I am a third generation Denver native who's only exposure to Philly is watching It's Always Sunny on FX. I can't tell you how "authentic" this place is, but I know a good sandwich when I taste one. And I'm not alone. It's tough to find a table in this place around lunchtime. They have lots of combinations. Fries, onion rings, and fried zucchini are also good. Pretty good for my first time going here. I've lived in Broomfield for the past 16 years and I have never been here. It's very squished and hidden in between so it's hard to notice. The sandwich itself was solid. I got the foot long pepper cheese steak with green peppers. The meat was a bit dry and not too much flavor. It was juicy, a little bit more cheese would've been nicer. The bread was tasty. Onions and green peppers were good. The fries definitely could've used a larger portion size and there could have been more of them. The lady taking my order got me down as an 8 inch when I ordered the big 12 incher. I liked it and definitely will be coming back for more sometime soon. read more

I've been visiting this place for several years now, and am never disappointed in the service or the food. The food always comes out in a timely manner, and never varies in quality from visit to visit. I've tried a variety of their philly's, however on my most recent visit I ordered the "Combo Steak": -COMBO STEAK-(#5) I found this sandwich to be exceptional, certainly not the best philly I've ever had, but one of the better ones I've had outside of Philadelphia. As it reads on the menu: "Steak, grilled onions, & peppers w/ melted cheese". You have the option of getting hot, mild, or mixed peppers, and I personally recommend the mixed, as I've had all of the pepper varieties. The mild is a little too flavorless and doesn't have much impact on the sandwich, and the hot is almost too overbearing (unless you handle spicy food well). The meat is very well flavored, however the meat is almost too finely chopped. The bread that they use for their phillie's is very good, as it is an authentic hoagie which they use on phillie's in Philadelphia. One thing I think they really lack on their CHEESEsteaks though, is amount of cheese. I strongly recommend when ordering your sandwich you ask for extra cheese. Overall, I give it 3.8/5 Slices The atmosphere is basic and loud with the dining area and the kitchen being in the same, small room with limited seating area, however I don't come here for the atmosphere and I could honestly care less, as long as they keep making delicious sandwiches. I would recommend this place to anybody, even philly cheesesteak snobs, as I feel that this philly could contend with any non-Philadelphia cheesesteak. read more

This is the best cheesestake place I have found in Colorado. The meat, bread and toppings are all of the highest quality and flavorful but not overly salted. The only drawbacks are that the cook times are sometimes a bit long as they get busy and the cheese often sticks to the packaging when you get them togo. read more

OMG! what have you people been smoking? I was told about this place from a co-worker who said that they had decent cheese steaks here. I ordered a 8" cheese steak with onions. What I got was a 2" diameter half roll, 6.5 inches long with about 2 ounces of over chopped dry steak and 2 slivers of rough chopped onion. Barely a snack for anyone except maybe a small child. Very unimpressed. I grew up on the east coast and we are sandwich ppl. We like our bread warm and crusty. Also our sandwiches are so stuffed with meat it's over flowing. I had the Italian hoagie and it was just not up to par. It did not even have the correct type of meat in it. It should be cappicola, ham and salami. And anyone who has ever had a philly cheese steak knows they come with the choice of whizz or provolone. The sad truth is, I have yet to find an east coast sandwich shop on the west coast. read more

I have been going to "OPT" (that's how it's programmed in my phone) for over 30 years. Minimal menu changes and decor,no frills, no atmosphere, decent prices, and consistent good food have kept me driving there long after I moved away from Broomfield. The combo steak sandwich with mixed peppers has to be one of the greatest sandwiches ever. A coworker of mine from Philadelphia went there on my suggestion. He now drives down once a week for lunch. I got an Italian hoagie (I have not had a cheese steak here). I'm from Philly and I am picky about my steaks and hoagies. My "sub" fell far short of my expectations. The roll was wimpy and squashed down to almost nothing when grabbed. The roll opening was filled with veggies, and then meat was laid over the opening and roll... like an open-faced sandwich topped in meat. The salami (my favorite meat) was bland... not salty or especially fatty. The other meat which I assume was supposed to be ham was more like bologna, which should come no where near an Italian hoagie. All the meat was cut paper thin. I don't think there was any capicola on the sandwich. I put this hoagie on par with a Subway sandwich, which I don't think highly of. I ate a large one and I'm not totally full. I think their hoagies weigh significantly less than a Jimmy John's sub. read more

Now, some more words; This place is deliciousness, simplicity, comfort, consistency, and temptation all grilled up and served in just a few minutes with a smile and without a painful hit to the pocketbook. Our cashier Amber was a cheerful breath of fresh air. The sandwich (a basic Philly Cheese steak with no peppers or onions) was out in less than 3 minutes, piping hot, and I fear I may now be going to hell for enjoying it so much. This place got bought. When I got told that, I gasped and started crying. I decided to try it out, just to see if the new owners had changed anything.... needless to say, they had changed EVERYTHING. Worse meat and bread, so the meat was fatty and the bread was soggy. The service was terrible and probably won't be going back. If you buy a great business, you can at least TRY to maintain it. I have been eating here off and on for the past decade plus. I was first introduced to this place on a trip up to Fort Collins and loved it. Then I moved in the neighborhood and love stopping by here to grab a sandwich. From my observations the things that make this awesome are the ingredients. The roll is crisp and crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle which makes it a perfect pillow for the filling. I always get the grand slam and have also had the cheese steak (regular). I want to try other menu items but I love those two so much it is all I want if I come in. The meat is sliced ribeye and the veggies are always fresh. So if the meat is shaved ribeye the price is going to be a little bit higher. They have a special on Mondays right now for lunch $5 a sandwich, check it out!! read more

Always have loved this place. Recently they change mgmt/owners and things have changed. Workers don't seem as happy. AND my Biggest pet peeve... they fill Heinz ketchup bottles with some other cheap ketchup. Pretty sure this is illegal but I have to do more research. There were so many incredibly enthusiastic reviews that we hiked 30 minutes to this place. It wasn't worth it. The cheesesteaks, our main reason for the pilgrimage, were mediocre. They were bland. The meat was generally flavorless. The portion sizes were small. And it wasn't much of a bargain. The zucchini sticks are very good, but what isn't good if you batter and deep fry it? Broomfield can be a pain to navigate and it's certainly not worth going out of your way to eat here. read more

I ordered the Grand Slam Philly and a side of Fried Zucchini. The Grand Slam may not be an authentic Philly and that is fine by me. I've been going to Olde Philly Towne for years, exclusively for the Philly Grand Slam. I love this sandwich! They don't make the mistake here that many places make by toasting the bun. The Grand Slam's bun is fresh and soft, the way it should be. The steak is high quality and is chopped and mixed on the grill with fresh mushrooms, onions and peppers. I personally get either mild or mixed peppers. I'm not a huge fan of the fries, but I usually don't order them anyway. Can't say anything, unfortunately, about the rest of the menu. I always go into Olde Philly Towne thinking I'll try something new, and always walk out with a Grand Slam. read more
