I have been coming here for years. I mean since the 90's. So as far as owners taking over I have seen the one in the past and I have no complaints. Must be new owners yet again, only they are not following the recipes. Sadly disappointed,our sandwiches are not the same anymore. Way to many peppers and they don't listen well with the orders, or maybe all of us "original" customers confuse them with our ordering..It also took a crazy amount of time to get our food! I hadn't been here in a while so I wanted to try it out again as I had good memories of the quality of the food. I picked the standard Philly cheesesteak with a side of fries and a drink. Total was $10.60. The food was fair but nowhere near the quality had hoped for. The sandwich was small and the contents were surprisingly bland and tasteless. That being said I did eat. I would not likely recommend this place given the near $11 bill given what I got for it. I'll probably just go across the street to the New York deli instead. read more

This place used to rock but has gone downhill considerably after a couple of ownership/management changes. The rolls are huge, but underfilled. Tonight the service was slow despite no one else being in the restaurant and only one to-go order being filled. One of our sandwiches was not made correctly, and the entire order came out in a to-go bag even after telling the cashier twice that it was an order for "here". Slow service seems to be the norm these days. We used to eat here about once a month, but lately can only manage it a couple of times a year. Stopped in for an early lunch today and this place was great! An easy to read menu hangs on the wall listing all of their sandwiches, drinks, and sides. I ordered up the Grand Slam cheesesteak with hot peppers and an order of fried zucchini sticks. As a previous reviewer wrote, they don't give you a number or take your name. They pay attention to who you are and where you sat and promptly bring your order out to you. Everything was made fresh to order. The rib eye steak they use was very tender and flavored nicely with the onions and hot peppers. The bread was also very soft and fresh and was not overly greasy like some cheesesteak places I've been. The zucchini sticks were greasy - but that's to be expected since they are deep fried :o) I don't think I'd order them again, but I will definitely be back to try another sandwich. Besides Salvaggio's in Boulder, this is the only other cheesesteak place I've really liked. Maybe the meatball or the pizza steak next time! Prices are about $6 for the smaller size sandwiches, which is really all you'll need. read more

After moving here from Philly, I've been on the quest to find the perfect cheesesteak here in Colorado for a while...and I've finally found it! The grand slam is exactly how I used to order in Philly and equally as delicious. The only thing this place is missing is cheese fries and Amoroso bread. I have been going here since I was a child, although I haven't been in years I decided to take my fiancé and his son. They enjoyed it very much!! It is not quite as good as it once was but still one of the better places we have gone for cheesesteaks. We will go here again! read more

It might have been good at some point but they fired their cook .... The only one who knew what he was doing. The quality of the food has drastically gone downhill, the food safety is almost nonexistent. I saw someone touch my food with bare hands and after they wiped them on a nasty towel. Great hole in the wall, awesome steaks! A large chicken slam serves 2 easily, especially if you get the onion rings. I've been going here for years and should probably try a few other menu items (burgers, sandwiches, etc.) but why mess with success? This place gets crowded because it is GOOD! read more

Meat was tender and moist, it wasn't as salty as compared to other places, and the bread was perfectly chewy! They load you up on meat and cheese heavily with the right amount of veggies on the bottom of the bread. If you're eating in, it's perfect for couples or a small group. Staff was friendly and very understanding despite all the additions and substitutions to our meal. Will be back!! read more

Very disappointing. I grew up just outside Philly and recently relocated. After reading the good reviews, I was hoping to get a taste of home... however, their cheesesteaks are nothing like what you get in Philly. I've had plenty of really good cheesteaks that aren't "Philly" cheesesteaks, but their cheesesteaks are just plain BAD. One of the worst I ever had. What's the deal with chopping up the meat into pieces smaller than ground beef??? Philly should be removed from their name. read more

I have a Philly Cheesesteak joint very close to me, and I drive right past it over 5 miles to go here for the Grand Slam with hot peppers. It is the best cheesesteak I have had anywhere, and I am a fairly big appetite, the 12" is what I get and it is plenty. The meat is ribeye perfectly cooked and the cheese melts all the way, the hot peppers are not mushy and just the right tempurature. Going here is something of a special treat for me, it's that good. read more

Being from the Philly area, I was excited to try this place since I haven't found a comparable cheesesteak since moving to Colorado. By far, the worst cheesesteak I've had here. In Colorado, this is the cheesesteak place other places often try to imitate but never equal.... As close to the real deal Philly CheeseSteak as I've found in Colorado....(and I spent my youth in the Philly area...). The new owners have drawn a mustache on the Mona Lisa. This place is a former shell of itself. The bread is two breadsticks with a fraction of the meat and cheese you previously got ,bring your tape measure because 12 inches ain't even close to 12 inches that they claim. I complained about the changes and new owner pulled the my English ain't so good smoke and mirrors routine ,and finally told me tough . Well sayonara chachie. Now I know why take out is in these new styrofoam boxes , because if they wrap them up in butcher paper it would be like carrying a pencil. We usually stop by when we are in the area to always get our philly sandwich fix and they've certainly made improvements since our last visit. Service was better and the food, still DELISH! I am a native of Colorado and grew up in Westminster. I started coming to Olde Philly Towne in my twenties and have lived in Aurora for over a decade now. My family and I would make the drive up and make sure to still remain loyal customers. I drove up to see my friend and and went in to order today noticed the place was remodeled inside and nobody looked familiar and I didn't think too much about it becuase I hadn't been up here in a while. When I tasted the food though, I could taste the difference. I actually looked on Google and discovered through here that the wonderful, good people that had ran this location for as long as I could remember (over 20 years) sold the place to somebody else and I am upset and saddened that this great food staple that has been in community for so long is gone.
