My cut is a high taper fade, straight at the bottom and about medium length on top that sort of combs over with styling mousse. I have a cowlick and my hair is super thick in the back (I hope I am not going bald) so I am particular on the cut. Awesome place, awesome service. Really busy so appointments maybe the way to go, but we were walk-ins and they still managed to fit us without us having to be there all day. I brought my three nephews ages 12 to 4 and my boys are picky about who touches their heads. However they really liked their cuts and edging. They said they wanted to go back again so we'll be back again. Reasonably priced too. Made my 4 year old nephew feel comfortable when he started getting scared of getting in the chair. Although I wasn't even the one getting the haircut, Marco offered me coffee & powdered cookies while I waited! Lol. The shop is neat & clean, lots of magazines to read & a fridge full of waters & sodas for the customers. They even have a chess board game & Rubik's cubes. Your wait def won't be a boring one. I am very particular about who cuts my hair and how it is done. So finding a proper barber shop has been an exhausting task. I found one in Stafford but they were hit or miss. Last week a gentleman came by to drop off a flyer for Old School Barber Shop and told me to come by. Not sure to expect I drove down the street and gave it a shot. Upon entering it's really comfortable and well laid out. Everything is clean, modern, and up to date but still has an old school barbershop feel to it. Antonio was the one who cut my hair and let me just say this gentleman is AMAZING. He got my fade perfect, my faux hawk just how I like it, and he even went the extra mile with a straight razor cleanup and hot towels to open the pores. I felt like I was treated like a king and Antonio is a master of his craft. I wanted to make sure next time I visit I got the same cut and although he said he would remember me, he took an index car with my contact information on it and filled out all the details of my cut so next time I would not have to explain my cut. It's an old school client system and honestly I think I'm going to write a web application for him to better manage his clients (I'm a software engineer), but seriously the attention to detail Antonio had was incredible. A hair cut with the full treatment was only $20. Compared to cutthroat at $35 (and horrible service at cutthroat) Old School Barber Shop is a bargain for the value you receive. I have been going to Antonio for over a year and he is excellent. Very amiable guy and always takes his time to make your cut the way you want it. He takes notes of your past cuts so if you want to change it up or keep it the same you have a reference point. Always offers you a complimentary neck shave with a straight razor and a hot towel. Never has he made a mistake with my hair, which is why i always come back. Haircuts will cost you $18-20, but you should really be paying more. I've been going to Antonio for well over a year now, and followed him from the shop where he used to work. Antonio's meticulous, knows what he's doing, and provides a quality haircut. What's great is that he's not all chatter, but will make you feel comfortable. He won't make a change to your hairstyle without consulting you first, and ultimately, will make suggestions on what will look good. Things I like: - Free hot towel service - Free soda or bottled water while you wait He's open now for his existing clientele, but will open on 9/1 for new clients. Antonio has been cutting my hair for.... going on 3 years I think! I have always left his chair feeling like a million bucks. I really enjoy going to his new shop in Garden Oaks. The furniture and environment give me a good feeling. No pretentious attitudes. I'm a bit particular with what I do with my hair (which probably drives him nuts) but he is always happy to exceed my requests. He keeps up with latest trends and loves to recommend new hairstyles, I usually trust his input and I haven't been let down since. To be honest, I have had to regretfully try a different barber or two since first going to Antonio (if he wasn't working that day, or whatever the reason), but I always end up coming back to him in the end. The haircut went well except for one minor detail, I had told the man doing my haircut, Marco that I didn't want it short and that I wanted it a little long, the finished result was short. What a hidden gem! I stumbled across this little shop which is located in a rather nondescript strip mall. But do not let first impressions fool you! Once inside it is beautifully decorated and very clean. I was helped by Marco who was very professional and talented. I loved how he was able to use a straight razor with such ease (a skill not found much anymore) and they even have a mini fridge stocked with sodas and Modelo! Came up to shop location after was told over the phone I'd have an appointment. When I arrived nobody was getting their hair cut and I was told the wrong appointment time. I asked to get my beard trimmed - as there was 20 minutes until the customer for next appointment would arrive. Was told no and shown the door and told to go to another barber shop.
