Every snip of the scissors is a conversation between artist and canvas. I'm pretty sure I heard angels harmonizing the first time I got hit with a fade here. My wife looked at me when I got home and said "who are you?" Not because I looked different. Because I looked like the man she always hoped I'd become. Carlos built this place, and whatever dark sorcery he's teaching back there, it's working. This man has assembled an entire roster of assassins. I've sat in multiple chairs at this shop over the years, and every single one of these barbers is cut from the same legendary cloth. You could walk in blindfolded, sit in any chair, and walk out looking like you were put on this earth to be photographed. The Argyle League is a "not so well" kept secret in the Montrose neighborhood. It is always jamming with most of the barbers booked way out in advance. I would strongly suggest booking through their web site for the best and easiest way to assure you get the time and barber you want. This said... I love them! Jeremy usually takes care of me, and he is the nicest and best barber I have let near my face with a sharp blade. He is amazing! But I have had other barbers here too, and the quality is always very high. I joke that they look like the cast from a motorcycle show on AMC, but that is not far off really. Usually these guys have extreme tattoos and facial hair to spare. But they are all very skilled and know about customer service. The entire place is like a giant man-cave. Lots of wood, a smattering of animal skulls, and heavy metal often playing. All the employees are guys... even at the front desk. They also serve bourbon if you want to go even further down the testosterone trail. All they need to cap this off is a gun range out back. I love this place. It feels like a manly barbershop, and the staff looks like they could all join the Mayans. But never fear, they are talented and professional.
