This place has all the details right. From the cute schoolhouse decor and menu to the attention to execution on the food. I ordered essentially a Denver omelet by customizing a menu item - they had no issues with that. Thank goodness I "downsized" as well, thank goodness, because it was still big! It was perfectly fluffy and the ham was top notch. Every single bite of the hashbrowns were crispy. This is a chef who knows the importance of a proper crispy hasnbrown. Tired of toast that is half dripping in butter, half dry as a crouton? This is your place. They butter the toast evenly with actual butter. The service is what you imagine in an idyllic little town. After passing by this little cafe and not going because they weren't open for diner, we decided to try it this morning for breakfast. OMG!! There were 4 of us and we all walked away full and very satisfied. The omelets were huge (can be downsized) and loaded with all your favorites. The pancakes were delicious and ginormoThe atmosphere was great and fitting with the era of the Old School. Service was outstanding and we had the foresight to purchase some of their home baked cookies for a snack later. Very Good. We will repeat soon and often. Remember, they are only open for breakfast and lunch and do not take any credit cards or cash cards. Bring cash. There is an ATM at the bank in town. read more

Every good review point others have posted is true. The place is charming and friendly. The food is EXCEPTIONAL. Portions are rather large. Service is fast, but no one need feel rushed. Only negative might be that the hours are quite limited. We left the restaurant full, but made a plan to return before we even got in the car. read more

What a gem my mother and I found in Mantorville! Set in a nostalgic old school house, nestled in a beautifully designed flower garden is the perfect place for breakfast or lunch! A husband wife duo, Doug and Linda, are friendly and know good home cooking. I had a perfectly grilled burger and fries. My 101 year old mother had the daily special, lasagna, so big that she brought home the leftovers for another meal. And we topped it off with mouth watering sour cream raisin pie, all made from scratch: Linda's mother's recipe. I used to make pies for a restaurant myself and this pie was as good as it gets! Next time we are looking forward to trying some of the breakfast items, like blueberry pancakes or one of the many kinds of omelets. They open early but note that they also close at one. Next time I am going to bring my husband. He'll love it! read more

I love this place! It is set in an old school house, hence the name. The little town is so cute and worth the trip! The place is clean and bright, and the staff is very friendly. It is a family that runs the place and they know what they are doing! The food is great and the hash browns are the best I have every had! We drive in from Rochester just for breakfast! Great spot for Saturday morning breakfast or any day! Traditional breakfast, not fussy, generous portions. My husband had pancakes while I chose the special, eggs Benedict. Both dishes were equally delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Set in a 19th century schoolhouse, you'll have fun looking at all the vintage decor. This renovated old school house is a delightful place to eat. The food is delicious and the servings are more than plentiful. Everything is home cooked. You will enjoy looking at the special gifts available as well as the flower garden in spring and summer. The staff is friendly and efficient. It is amazing to find such a restaurant in a small town!!
