I first called one of the larger pest control companies and was told that they would be at my house the next morning to assess the situation. Then, they called back 20 minutes later and told me they wouldn't be able to do the job and actually said, "just let it die and call a chimney sweep to clean it out"! That was a bit unsettling, so I called Dunbar. They first said they had a full schedule and would not be able to look at it until the next week. But after a few minutes discussing the issue, they said they would move their schedule and stop over early the next morning. They did come over, but after thoroughly checking the chimney, they found that the squirrel was somehow able to climb out himself. I was very impressed by their professionalism and effort to help me, rather than let the squirrel possibly die in the chimney. I would definitely call them first next time!

When I was unexpectedly home a day before the appointment, I called and Matt came that afternoon. He investigated and found the hole to the crawlspace. A trap was set and we had Bucky the groundhog the next day. Matt closed up the hole for us. When we heard it again a few days later, Matt came back. There was nothing, so we think Bucky's SO escaped for good. Matt is responsive, responsible, changed his schedule when I asked if he could come a day early and he got the critter. Pest control isn't something we think about, but when we needed it, we were more than pleased with Matt's service. Pricing was reasonable and the process was simple. We'll use Upstate Pest & Wildlife Control again if needed and we highly recommend.

It was time to call a wildlife specialist. The positive reviews I was reading for Upstate Pest & Wildlife Control were convincing enough for me to call them. They were able to schedule a visit for the next day. Jake from UPW&C (no relation to Jake from State Farm) arrived on time and assessed the situation. He was friendly, very informative, and knowledgeable. The cost for the services he proposed and explained was reasonable. He was able to set traps that same day. Jake returned after a couple of days to check the traps. While the traps had not caught anything yet, and we hadn't heard critters any longer in the ceiling, he made modifications and adjustments to the traps and planned another visit the following day. Today, after assuring that there were no more squirrels in the soffits, and no new points of entry, he removed the traps and sealed the soffit hole. (Note: one trap did have part of a squirrel's tail.) I definitely recommend this family owned business if you have problems with wildlife pests. Their entire operation is very professional and reassuring.

It has been a few weeks and Josh has visited to install a one-way "trap." This allowed the critters to leave our attic crawl space and then be sealed a few weeks later. He sealed one side of the house first, put traps on the other side and then returned to seal them out permanently. It has been another few weeks and it is still quiet. No noise of invaders running muck in our attic area. Thank you Josh. Would definitely call them again. Price was reasonable for the value of ridding our home of the little critters.

He saw that not only do we have carpenter bees but we also have a big problem with carpenter ants. Part of the house was being eaten away by the carpenter ants. He was very thorough and knowledgable and I changed over to Thomas. I feel much more confident working with them and am already repairing part of the house that had been being destroyed by carpenter ants that our previous exterminator never even noticed. I spoke to Landon over the phone about this and found him unsympathetic and rude. I did however, speak at length w the boss, JP who was very nice and tried to rectify my issue. I am not able to get any $ back but NW will be coming to the house to help with a 1 time treatment for mice at no cost. I have yet to see if this works
