Good selection of leather goods, especially belts, many of which are hand crafted. Atmosphere is good and prices are fair.

A little expensive but considering where they're located that's to be expected. Got some beautiful Minnetonka moccasins that I couldn't be happier with. The clerk was very nice and knowledgeable. If you are looking for Native American inspired items Old Town Leather may have what you need. As the name states, they also sell a good bit of leather clothing including items an avid biker would enjoy. I happened to notice a special area with "dixie" related goods such as bumper stickers and t-shirts. And if you aren't sure what I mean, I'll be more specific, confederate flag gear. Making Peta members cry. Since spent a good portion of my life living in Daytona, I have seen a lot of leather clothing. As soon as bike week came around, you were immediately exposed to leather clothing, and all it's...um..charm? Nonetheless I hold no prejudice toward the fashion sub-genre. In fact I really liked places like Wilson Leather (that is until they closed). But this place appeals to a very specific *kind* of leather fan, and I have to say that shopping here just feels a little weird. The Good: So many jackets: If you are into riding motorcycles, this place has an entire wall devoted to just motorcycle jackets. Red ones, blue ones, ones with funky sleeves....you want it, they got it. Plenty of comfy shoes: Anyone who lives in Florida must own a decent pair of moccasins, and this place has a pretty nice assortment of the ultra-comfy shoes. The bad: Poor aesthetics: The look of this place just makes it look like a cheap dixie outpost, which is not a good thing. There's animal heads on the walls, and a whole bunch of southern confederate memorabilia. The look of the place was quite a turn off. Uninspired Stock:sure this place sells a million and one jackets and shoes, but nothing else? No really cool novelties? Overall I just found Old Town Leather to feel drab. I'm not sure how to review this store. It was kitschy like the rest of Old Town, had lots of leather jackets, moccasins, hats, and belt buckles. I had fun trying on hats, but it's not really my scene. If you like the West maybe you'll like it. I did like the Mickey machine inside. I thought it was going to be another wizard or something Western theme but it was just Mickey. read more

Can you call back later?" and hung up on me. I would've understood that she was too busy, but was it necessary to hang up on me??? I was referred by a friend who suggested I shop here for a new motorcycle jacket.. he noted that they carried decent quality jackets and their price was not too hard on the pocketbook. I visited during mid-week of January 19th. Given my added girth I needed a much larger size then in available stock. A style was selected and the order placed. Orlando can be bad place for retailers, many honest customers but as well many shady ones as well. I committed that you order the jacket I will buy it (as first quality goods). The expected date of arrival was January 27th and the store manager Brian and his wife delivered as promised, called me, texted me and later today I picked up the jacket. I can tell you that good service is rare these days.. and when you receive good service, good value and a first quality product... then that should be noted. Well done and thank you... This shop doesn't care about customers. Apparently they are in it for the money only. I purchased a motorcycle jacket from them on 20 Sep 08. I briefly tried it on in the store to make sure it fits. From that time it hung in my closet, due to my busy schedule. Finally I had some free time to go riding and decided to use the jacket I bought from oldtown leather. Needless to say I was upset. The zipper didn't function correctly. I used a different jacket that day. So today, 12 Oct 08, I decided to go up there and return the jacket since it was defective. I get there about noon time, and the man working at that time told me he wasn't authorized to do any returns, and to return after 1630 to speak with the manager . Ok. I returned about 1800 and spoke to the manager. The manager would not give me a return because the store policy dictates it. I looked all around the store to see the sign that states no refund. Nothing. Anyway, I spend the next 20 minutes arguing with the manager. At first she didn't want to do anything. Eventually she exchanged the jacket, which is what I didn't want. I wanted a refund. I did ask to speak to her boss, but he was on "vacation". But before that she told me that the man who was working earlier that day, had heard my wife and I speaking in Spanish talking about the jacket and that nothing was wrong with it. I told the manager that he had me confused with someone else because my wife doesn't speak Spanish, she speaks German. Well, I left upset, vowing never to purchase anything from that store again. I will tell everyone I know, meet, or come visit me to stay away from that business. They are not customer friendly and definitely not military friendly. Upset Army Recruiter. read more

If I could I would give this place a negative 3 stars. So I went to old town just for this store and it ruined our entire trip. First- as soon as we walked in we saw a Man and a woman owners I think. The lady was yelling at other customers about taking pictures in the store. Second-For someone with bad knees this store will kill you. The floor it so bad that ever step you take makes you feel like you are going to fall through. Third-my 4 year old niece picked up a slingshot and as soon as her hand hit the slingshot the lady eyed me then eyed my niece. She then straightened up and started to yell but I interpreted her before she did because if she was doing something wrong I was going to be the one to yell at her not some stranger. She could have just asked me to not allow the kids to touch things. Fourth-the reason I really went was to get my sister a leather bracelet that had her medical alert on it for Christmas but I wanted her to pick it out. She said she has a few bracelets but she doesn't have a belt we both talked it over and I told her that she could still put it on it but it couldn't be worn as a replacement for the bracelet or necklace. Her reply was I know that but I have so many bracelets necklaces and even rings with that on it so this will be something new. I made it clear to all the negatives about it but she still wanted it so I said ok. Now let me say the guy was as nice as could be helped with the belt size, the buckle, and how the engraving process worked. He gave us a book of what font we could get. As we were looking the lady was standing by and heard me say that it should be something bold and easy to read. She rudly asked what we wanted it to say. We told her what it was going to be and her reply was "really that's a stupid idea to get that above your butt. I guess you could get it if you wanted but I don't recommend it, I mean I would never do that its just pointless and a waste of money. But whatever I guess it's up to you." After that my sister changed her made and got her name on the belt. I have seen people with worse things engraved on their belts and for anyone let alone an owner or employee to say that to a PAYING customer is wrong I wouldn't have been so upset if she had asked if we were sure we wanted that but I would have rather spent extra money and gone somewhere better. I was tired of the belts that I bought at the retail stores that would fall apart after a couple weeks. I walked into the "Old Town Leather" store and had some doubts. The gentleman inside understood what I was talking about. He was very knowledgeable about leather and readily shared some of his knowledge with me. He showed me some belts that looked to me to be the same I bought elsewhere, but he explained that he used the leather from the back of the steer. "It's the same leather that is used to make reins, fobs, whips, etc." The belt I bought has lasted over 20 years and the years have made it look better. I also love the smell of leather and this store has that in just the right amount. read more
