Stopped in to Old Town Spice Shop in Fort Collins for the first time last week. The staff was welcoming and made great suggestions when we had questions. We snagged some dip mixes and a parmesan everything bagel seasoning that I wanted for a breakfast recipe I'd seen. Tried it out and it's delicious! Looking forward to mixing up the dip seasoning mixes soon. A staff member recommended mixing the Queso & Fiesta dip mixes as one option, so I'm looking forward to trying out that combo! This little shop had loads of spices, seasonings and unique toppings (like their line for adding to popcorn). Go by next time you're in Fort Collins. The spices are so flavorful and they ship them right to your door so you never run out. I compared a Garam Masala spice to the store bought version and the flavor and scent was absolutely incredible! It made my dish flavor packed and was with the investment. read more

Great selection and even better community friendly. We were looking for a specific kind of pepper that couldn't find. The staff person who'd been trying to help us came back in a minute and had found the pepper we wanted on line at another nearby store. Amazing customer care rather make-a-buck attitude. Old Town Spice Shop is my little piece of aromatic heaven on earth. Yet another place I discovered even before I moved here, I'm a regular since I go through the spices so quickly. Recently, I went shopping for Christmas gifts for the husband's side of the family and saw that they're pre-packaging gift box sets of different spices (my personal favorite is the beer and bacon set). They have "Movie Night" gift boxes which include a pre-selected set of their popcorn seasonings, which I wanted to get, but was feeling picky, so I decided to design my own to suit each individual I was ordering for. They provided the boxes and I just filled them with whatever struck my fancy. Birthday Cake for the little ones, Cheddar Bacon for most of the adults, Bacon Salt for the vegan (they use soy-based protein for this salt, similar to what Bacon Bits uses), Pizza seasoning for the aunt and uncle... The possibilities are endless! It can get a little expensive, depending on what you select, but that's what I love about being able to build your own set, and I love the fact that they're not a chain, local and family-owned, which makes me even more eager to put my money there and keep them around. Now the only thing I need them to do for me is bring back the wasabi ranch that disappeared from the shelves a few years ago! I will give all the money for that seasoning, even though I've found some great alternatives in the shop. read more

I placed an order to have shipped to my child. Order was shipped quickly but never delivered. Contacted USPS to see why and label was half tore off and stuck to another package. USPS said I could file a claim but then wouldn't allow me to. Old Town Spice has been good with communication and said they would reship order and that they would deal with the post office. Keeping my fingers crossed the 2nd order gets shipped and delivered quickly. Will update review with product reviews once order gets delivered. read more

The best customer service and SO many different spices and seasonings from around the country and the world. So, if you don't like flavor, this is not the store for you. I am not a good cook, hence why I eat/ order out so much but if I was into cooking, I would totally come here to find inspiration and try new things( spice things up lol) ... I did get rose petals and unicorn sugar because how could I not?! Also, got some blends as gifts for the iron chefs in my life. read more

So happy that we wandered into this adorable little spice shop! We were greeted by a super helpful clerk, who directed us to a ton of different spices we would have never considered before. This place has all the classics you would expect like dried herbs and seasonings, but also fun stuff like hops or bacon salt, and many more you wouldn't be able to find in a grocery store. You can tell their spices, salts, extracts and flavorings are super high quality. I also love how they have different quantities, so you can sample a small batch first. Some for as low as $1.50! Not only did the girl working point us in the right direction, but also told us what to use the spices on, like salting the rim of your glass or seasoning your steak! Then when she found out it was our first time in downtown she recommended a couple local places for us to check out! Very sweet! read more

Thought we would check this place out. It's cute. The displays are on a lot of antique furniture and even a stove. That was a nice touch, but really the only personally in here. As you walk through the door, you smell the spices. There are spices, spicy salts with things like habañero, and also some popcorn flavorings. You can create boxes of different seasonings as well. Great place for a gift for your favorite home chef. They offer samples, small bags as well as jars of the spices. Really nice concept. The place is great, but the woman who helped us (owner?) was not friendly at all. Ruined the whole experience. We did buy a habañero salt and some cumin. If she had been friendly, I would have given this shop 4 stars. read more

This place is totally AWESOME!!! My girlfriend and I enjoyed browsing all the delicious spices and seasonings. And the gentleman that works there, Harry, is the coolest. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about everything in the store and gave great recommendations on how to use some of the more interesting seasonings. I love this spice shop and the prices are great as well. I love that I can buy a new spice or blend for under $3. I would rather have small quantities that I refresh more frequently than be forced to buy large quantities that go stale. I also enjoy the flavored sugars and salts. There is a young guy that works there that is so nice and really gives the store that local "shopping at a friend's place" vibe. read more

It's so hard because I really love this place and I love shopping here. The different sizes you can get are amazing and the quality is excellent. I also have favorites I enjoy coming back for and we've been coming to the store since their previous location on Linden but our recent experiences with an older woman employee have been such a let down. Anytime we ask questions she seems beyond irritated we are there and it actually has made it to the point where we don't want to come in when she's working. Overall, it's still four stars because one sour employee can't stop us from going. read more

I went to this shop over the weekend looking for some spices to use while baking (vanilla bean paste, vanilla beans, etc.). I was extremely disappointed with the entire endeavor. When I walked in the door I was promptly ignored so that the employees focused on other (older) customers. I wandered around for at least 20 minutes trying to find what I wanted (I still hadn't found everything before checking out). The employee checking me out didn't say a single word until I initiated a conversation about not finding any vanilla beans. She mumbled something, ran away and pointed to a bag and walked back to the cash register. So, I walked over to where she just was to grab the bag, that I obviously wanted and went back to the cash register. When I returned there was a different employee finishing my checkout. She didn't say a single word to me and rang up the vanilla bean, charged me and gave me my bag. This entire time she held a conversation with the woman behind me in line about personal matters. She didn't even look at me. I was extremely disappointed and will never return. read more
