It says 4 stars but I'm giving it a 4.5. A great place to find that unique or hard to find liquor. Also, if you are a bartender or like to mix your own drink, their bitter selection is huge! They have a great selection of bourbon and wine, their beer selection is a good size as well. They have growlers too. On the outside there are multiple murals, one I believe is by the local Louisville artist Noah Church. I love his murals, he's done others on bardstown road, like Cafe 360. There is also a large 3-piece neon sign on the corner, one being an arrow pointing to the drive through. The inside of the store is rather dark but don't worry, you can see everything. The isles are nice and roomy so also don't worry about bumping into anything. This is one of Louisville's most well known and award winning liquor stores. The reason for the four star rating is because, surprisingly, I could not find what I was looking for that day. The other is that I wish this place stayed open for an extra hour.

The guys in here are always super helpful & friendly and always ready with their recommendations for me! They encourage mixing and matching and trying all kinds of new things! From beer to wine to amazing local ice cream like Louisville Cream and pastas from Lotsa Pasta....there is so much to choose from. If you've got time, just stroll around the whole store and see what there is to offer!

    Growler station!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to review Old Town. This is the BEST liquor store in town for wine, beer, and liquor needs...and even some tasty snacks to go along with your drink as well. I lived a couple of blocks away from this spot for 11 years and I cannot tell you how many times I would swing in at the last minute for something and they always had exactly what I wanted. If I go in just to browse, they are always helpful in gearing you in the right direction based on your tastes/needs. I cannot say enough about how awesome this store is to step into on any given day. Part of their crew has been there forever and that makes it that much more special to me. I love that they have added a growler station in the recent past! Such a good way to keep up with the trends of beer and try some local/regional brews that you may not otherwise get to experience. I have gained so much beer and wine knowledge just from frequenting this shop. Thanks for making me a slight wine and beer snob, Old Town! Ha! They also have a wine shop up the road, The Wine Market. It is an excellent stop for wine if you are in bit more of a hurry and want to view a smaller selection.

Engaging employees who enjoy chatting with you about bourbon options, offering small tastings before purchase. Good selection!

I still think it is awfully...rough feeling, but the surrounding area is having a bit of a renaissance it seems and I can only hope that it will benefit this local business and perhaps give them a nudge to nice-en up the place a bit. It is a fairly basic two-aisle liquor store. But I have found what I wanted or needed every time I have visited. Most recently it was for wine. I was in ever so dire neeeeed of some inexpensive wine (because there was a winter storm coming and a party to attend and I needed to be prepared for both!) The center aisle of shelves is mostly wine. It comes up to about waist/ribcage height (on a short, short gal like me). Everything is easy to see and easy to reach. And I was pleased and impressed with the selection of local options! Not the biggest or best selection ever, but for a small, neighborhood liquor store is was nice to see. Prices are decent, the staff is as friendly as any liquor store staff I have encountered (which might not actually be saying much, but as a comparison...you know...) I recently moved to the 'hood so I anticipate bringing them my business unless my needs are very specific or very expensive, neither of which are a regular occurrence.

Nothing inspiring, but friendly enough service. Never a destination, just a convenience. I will limit my complaining to this. There is a drive-thru for those too busy or lazy or disabled to get out of their car. And on top of that there are something like 18 parking spaces for a business that couldn't possibly need more than four or five. And to beautify the landscape, there is one small, rather neglected tree on the easement. I wouldn't ask for a garden or anything major. Maybe a flower box?

What a delightful spot in Shelby Park to shop!…read more My friend and I stopped in here after attending a private event next door at the Canary Club. And I wanted to buy so much! This spot has such a fun assortment of gift items to buy. For example, I saw Heated Rivalry-themed items, Louisville stickers and art, Moomin toys, a large Peanuts display and so many other bits of kitsch and fun. For food, there's a freezer of Louisville Cream, great sauces, candy and more. And the alcohol selection is really what shines! Lots of wine, beer and bourbon -- some you can drink on-site and others you'd take home. I ended up buying two types of seltzers I've been wanting to try. If this all sounds jumbled together, it's really not. It all works, and I love the style of Breeze so much as well. This store is pleasantly filled without feelings disjointed or overstuffed. It's definitely a great spot to peruse if you're in the area!

Little locally-created cards, foodie candles, cookbooks and more line the shelves. I also love their NA spirits selection. The Kin Euphorics cans literally elevate my mood without the negative effects of alcohol. This is also a good casual date spot. Their is a cafe with yummy treats, high quality chocolates, and coffee drinks. You can enjoy your bites and sips on the front or back patio for a little extra sunshine in your day. Staff is always friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Oh, and they have pints of Louisville Cream for a quick fix, too!
