If I could give zero stars, I would. I never even made it through the car wash because the attendant began screaming at me when I briefly stopped to turn off my automatic rain-sensing wipers. There was no line behind me, and I was not blocking the track--I simply stopped to prevent damage from the hose spray triggering the sensors. Out of nowhere, the attendant reached his hands into my vehicle, yelling in my face aggressively. As a woman, this was extremely intimidating and completely unacceptable. When I asked to speak to the owner, I was told he wasn't even on site. The attendant continued shouting, thrust a camera in my face, and told me he was "right" because he's "been doing this for 22 years." At no point did anyone attempt to de-escalate or treat me with basic professionalism or respect. This was a deeply disturbing experience. I left shaken, without receiving any service. A rude employee yelled at me in Spanish and was annoyed when I couldn't understand what he was saying. He kept saying the same thing in an increasingly angrier and louder voice in Spanish. I have a new car and I was taking a brief moment to figure out a setting I wasn't familiar with. He was very aggressive and nasty towards me, a woman whom was trying to be polite and respectful. Thieves! Do not go here. I have been a regular customer for years and never had a problem until today. The car wash ripped my windshield wiper off. I told the worker and he looked for but said come back tomorrow and put duck tape around the arm. I told him Iam not around tomorrow and can't drive without wipers. He said it's not his problem and that I put the wipers on inside the wash. Are you serious??? I said you are now accusing me of stupidity and won't pay for new wipers or at least give me my $10 back for the wash. He said no. I've been going to Old Towne for at least the past 30 years, the owner and his son know me, and today the son acted so rude and dismissive regarding using the vacuum before entering the wash.....WHAT ?... You really think I am going to back out and not pay the coupon price $7.75 for the wash? Was told by son that the wash had to be recorded in " Computer " before vacuuming.........Old Town Car Wash and Computer in the same sentence? Laughable. If I could give this place a minus rating, I would. I've never cared so much to take the time to submit a review for a car wash. It's a pretty benign service. It's a car wash. How hard could that be? Well, thanks to my experience this weekend at Old Towne, I have been inspired to write this review. After almost 25 years of going to this place, ever since I started driving, I will NEVER go back, and I also strongly recommend the community boycott it. After reading the other reviews, I wonder now if the way I was treated was possibly because I'm a Latina?!? Hmmm... or, was it because I'm a woman?!? Or, was it because these owners are disrespectful, unprofessional, downright nasty people. I had a coupon I received in the mail for $7.75 for a car wash, wax, and vacuum. I waited in line (yes, it was busy) and got to the front, handed him the coupon WITH my credit card, at which point the owner told me there was a $10 minimum using the card. He told me that I could pay for the wax instead, to bring the amount up. Why would I, when the $7.75 was supposed to INCLUDE the wax? Since I didn't have any cash on me, and I didn't want any other service than the $7.75 discount, I told him to forget it, I would simply back out and leave. Mind you, I had PLENTY of room to back out. However, he refused to give me my credit card, turned away from me, and proceeded to continue to charge my card despite my protests and telling him I did NOT authorize him to charge my card. When I yelled at him to give me my card back (yes, I did yell- but I did NOT say anything disparaging, threatening, nor cursing- unlike his father), let me out, or we could just call the police and have them settle the matter, he threw me two dollars and told me it was too late and I HAD to go through the car wash. It was around this point in time that his father came over to me, yelling, calling ME a nutjob, and I got so discombobulated, as a petite woman with two much larger men yelling at me, I proceeded through the carwash anyway. I was shaking so much I had to pull over- I couldn't believe what had just happened, over NOTHING. Yes, I can afford the cost. And you might read this and say, what was such a big deal- it's just a few bucks, but, it wasn't about the money- it was the principle of the matter. And when I got home and saw all these other reviews, I realized it wasn't just me. This father/ son business should retire. I will ALWAYS patronize PJ's from now on. I will NEVER go back to Old Towne, and I also encourage and support all others to do the same. Oh, and BTW, when I got home I saw my credit card had been charged $9.50- hmmm... While my husband and I had frequented Olde Town Car Wash in Manasquan for quite a few years, tipping generously and receiving a nice exterior wash, my experience there today was rushed, unsafe, resulted in a collision IN the car wash and I had to endure abusive, accusatory and threatening language by the owner, who has never been there before when I have used the facility. I have negotiated and navigated their simple tunnel-style car wash quite easily many, many times. Today, it was 4:15, closing time is at 5.....and I was rushed to the point of irresponsibility. Folks, I am a sophisticated driver who traverses Manhattan regularly and drives all over the country. I am also educated and can follow clear directions. Car washes are not rocket science. The collision was a result of him rushing me irresponsibly, yelling at me rudely, distracting me --and starting the conveyor, pushing me forward before he should have. I will never go here again, as I don't pay people to treat me abusively and frankly, I am feeling that Olde Town Car Wash isn't particularly safe, operated as it was today. I think a safety inspection is in order, to insure that the owner is operating the property as he should be....and that his machinery has been inspected recently. read more

Needed an exterior wash and to vacuum out interior from dog hair and I recently got a coupon for Olde Town Car wash that said "Free" use of self service vacuums and free hot wax. . So I decided to try. Got there and it was nothing more than a simple wash and no wax was applied that I could tell. After leaving I went to vacuum my car to find out the machines need quarters to use. What happened to free??? I don't like false advertising and will not go back there again. read more

Minus stars. I wish I had read these reviews before going there. I went on Feb. 5 2021 at 4 pm. I entered they kept telling me to move to the left. As soon as I started going through I heard a loud crunching sound. When I got through the wash my driver side mirror was ripped off. I immediately went around and showed them. they call Brian and he said to come back on Saturday, which I could not. I went back on Monday Feb. 8th and spoke with one of the workers. He gave me Brian's #. I called , texted left VM no answer. I returned on Saturday 2/ 13 at 2 pm because the worker said Brian is there on Saturdays 2-5. He would not even look at my car. He said they do not replace mirrors? Even though he has insurance and knows they did it. we took photos. He was not interested at all. He said the # I had was his father who also would never answer me. I called the police and they told me to get a lawyer and follow up that way. I called my insurance company. I also witnessed the German Shepard in a very small cage barking and going wild from being so confined. I thing he has the dog there to intimidate the customers if there are any issues. I have been going to this car wash for 30 years. Have never written a yelp review. I gave one star because you have to give at least one. Several weeks ago, while going thru the car wash, it hyperextended my rear view mirror (that was properly pushed in) and broke it. I immediately showed it to the owner (the son) and he told me to go next door to Monmouth Auto Body and they would take care of ordering a new one and fix it. I did so. When it came time to pay the bill($350), he refused. I would suggest using the new/updated car wash next to McDonald's on Route 88 in Point Pleasant. I have never written a bad review about any business. I always give people the benefit of the doubt but my experience here was so awful I feel the need to warn people about going here. Especially with children in the car. It started off ok, I selected my wash, gave my money. They told me to drive up which I did. I guess my car wasn't on the track properly, I don't know I couldn't see it. The old man manning the entry to the car wash starting screaming at me and knocking, no, POUNDING on my window telling me it's all screwed up. To turn the wheel! To put it in neutral! To not use the brakes! I was obviously following his direction. I have worked at this car wash when I was a kid. I always thought they did a good job until today. I have had clients and friends remark about the complacency and rudeness of the son. Now I agree. While loading cars in the tunnel, they try to put them as close together as possible as they can. I guess to save money on the water and electric. I always feared that one day I could run into the back of the car in front of me. They wave you on to get closer and closer. I have had enough! I stopped by this week as I have come here many times in the past, sometimes good and sometimes bad. After this last time, no more! The owner (the older man, not the son) rushed me to come forward faster and closer to the car in front of mine until the track engaged my vehicle. First of all it wasn't busy, no need to have placed us so close together with no room for error. As the vehicle in front of me was just about to reach the exit opening, the car in front of me just stopped. The driver must have applied the brake to put her car in drive to exit but must have jumped the drive roller on the track some the space between our two vehicles was no longer there. If I didn't start using the horn to get the drivers attention my truck would have rammed into her car. The last thing that I wanted to do today was to be involved in an accident, I just wanted to get my truck washed. I have tipped the workers in the past because they will make an extra effort when I gave them a $2.00 tip, but when the older owner waves you on forward faster then the workers pace, why tip because you don't receive that extra care. The owner is an older man, a patient of mine who has always been pleasant. Yesterday I pulled in and the son was collecting the money. He asked what I wanted and I said just a wash. He handed me my change and then told me to pull up 3 times before I had a chance to put my money away. He was obviously angry about something. I said there's no one behind me I'm going as fast as I can. I asked him what was the matter and he said "I'm in a bad mood " I asked why ? He said " because your CHEAP !!! I said what are talking about. He said you have this expensive car and you get the cheap wash. He was quite angry. I told him I'll never come back again and he said good. I pulled up a little where his father was standing and introduced myself as his Doctor and informed him that his son was very rude to me. The father was quite angry too and also yelled at me and said don't come back. At this point I thought they were both crazy. Then the son says don't come back here again you F*#KING GINNY !!!! I guess they figured that I was Italian ? Can you believe this from a local business and from the owners themselves. This car wash is TERRIBLE! I opted for a car wash with turtle wax and my car came out still dirty with a clump of wax on the side. The vacuums were not operating and after consulting with the one responsive employee, I was directed to another vacuum station. He turned on the vacuum automatically and it let run while I was still moving my car to that station, wasting my operating time. The vacuum halfway through became detached between the hose and nozzle. During the many missteps of my visit, the owner never bothered to approach me and remedy the issues. I was the woman in the Ford Edge who paid for my wash using the coupon you issued and left a 37% tip in advance of the service. But. Then I balked at the agressive waving to continue pulling up further since I was literally on the bumper of the car in front of me. You know how that survival instinct kicks in? So unnecessary and vulnerable, but aggressively waved closer by an older man sitting next to the entrance, who became loud, yelling. At which point I put my window down and told him I did not want to move closer. He yelled at me about his 40 years of experience and he knows what he's doing and I dont and move up and I'm holding up the line. (#noline) His manner was so shocking that I told him i was never coming back, and he told me where to go and they didn't want "my kind" there. Stunned, I looked between the young and old owners for an ounce of sanity. None and the yelling continued so I dropped a couple f-bombs on the older man (#notproudbutwentthereanyway) and went through. When I pulled around to use the vacuum you, the younger owner, said, "so now you are going to complain?" I replied, "excuse me?" And you said "sorry wrong person" and disappeared. Well no...you had the right girl alright and I considered asking for my tip back but was not willing to approach you, who situated yourself out of reach beyond a vicious German Shepard locked in a cage.
