Upon arrival you will notice a clean and well kept parking lot (without carts everywhere). When you enter the store you are instantly in the large produce section. It is split into organic and non organic items. The produce quality is good and some of it is locally sourced. Next you will walk through the bakery where many of their items are housemade, or again, locally sourced. You can find tomato pie as well as Hemstroughts half moons. My favorite is their pistachio muffins. Get there early because they run out quick! The deli and cheese sections are fairly run of the mill. They have some natural or organic items but not a lot. The dairy, beer, and frozen sections are ok. Overall the store is clean, well organized, and rarely will you find something that is expired. My parents have had really good luck with the pharmacy here too.

However, make sure you stop at Aldi down the road first for produce. They stock the same brands (Driscolls, Foxy) for almost half the price. Then make your way to Hannaford for what you can't get at Aldi.

Not all of the cheeses are produced by small farms, but there is a large selection of those that are. We got lucky enough to make it to their "Customer Appreciation Day" and meet many of the food vendors. It was fun to put faces to the companies and farms - not all were Amish folks, some were outsiders who seemed to be treated with just as much respect. The store is welcoming and seems to have a good attitude. I was hesitant at first, but after a few visits I feel very comfortable shopping there.

Price Chopper places coupons on items with a next day sell date so I saved a $1 on the veggies. The tuna was very well priced, an 11 ounce steak for $6.02. In the end, I had a delicious and healthy meal for less than $8. #winning Our cashier was extremely friendly and provided some useful around town tips once he learned we were visiting from out of town. The store was well stocked and the bakery featured a large selection of prepackaged and fresh baked goods. Strawberry shortcakes were on sale for $4.99, that's a real NY bargain! It's new to the young people, but older folks will remember. Not quite the Grand Union my late grandma went to in Albany County, but like the old days, having it out of reach only makes me want to go back. Now if they could just replace closed Tops's in Syracuse on the south side and Westvale as well as Ithaca on S Meadow Dr and Great American in Star Lake.
