This store has a huge selection. You're going to pay more since you're in the middle of nowhere- which is to be expected. Many items are same price I pay at home. I always find great stuff every year when I come up for vacation. Love it! read more

If you're looking for a place to supply up before a big camping trip, then Kalil will hook you up with the brands of food you know and love. Whether you need a pack of Hoffman hotdogs, a bag of hot dog roll, or a sweet tea, then this is the local hot spot you need to check out. And if you want ice cream and beef jerky as well, then this location also has that. If you're lucky, then the chef from the taco shop across the street might even stop buy to buy two heads of cabbage. read more

Best thing in Inlet for food. Good deli in the back. Lots of groceries tucked into a smaller place.

Went to pickup sandwiches before we went camping. The lady in the deli was just not happy to be there. We felt like we were bothering her. At the register the young man never said hello, told me the price. I paid and he literally tossed the receipt at me. Will never go back again. Will stop in Old Forge at the new deli. We have been stopping by here every time we visit the Adirondacks. Their Fruits of the Forest Pie is the BEST PIE EVER! We drive from Webster NY just have this pie for special occasions and Thanksgiving! They have a great selection of your daily needs including several brands of Maple Syrup! I really like Kalil's. The prices are a little higher than the competition in Old Forge but the selection is better and more unique. This is a tiny store with extremely narrow aisles but if you go to the back you find a full scale deli and bakery. I tried a sample of their Snickers cookies and they were to die for!!! I don't even normally like Snickers but I had to have a cookie after that. I also bought some locally produced cheese curds that my family loved. I've had hummus, potato salad with blue cheese and bacon and pickled beets from here. Fresh rolls and bread too. The produce is fine with the very old fashioned way of displaying some of the fruit outside on tables. It's easy to find what you are looking for here in spite of the small size. I like Kalil's and think of it as my favorite Adirondack grocery store. read more

Stopped in after hiking the Fulton Chain Trifecta, before our 2-hour drive home. All I wanted was a cold chocolate milk and some water, and was expecting a little convenience store. I did not have high hopes for fresh chocolate milk but I was surprised to find multiple chocolate milk options. I went with the local dairy and they did not disappoint. On the way out, my dad spotted a Bald Mountain fire tower sticker (one of the mountains we'd just hiked) so it was a successful 90-second shopping trip! read more

Sorry about the bad review but they need to make a change. I was camping at Eighth Lake and we went into town and I bought a 5 gallon jug of water like you see in a work environment. Picked it up, paid, and walked out. There was deposit of like $10 but I didn't care because I knew we would be back in a day or two before we left and would just get it back. When I went to return it I was told I could only exchange it even though I had my receipt. There was a very small sign stating that but who is looking for disclosures when you are buying a bottle of water. I said that they should say that when checking out and or not call it a deposit. Now I am stuck with a 5 gallon bottle and cant return it for my deposit. We now go up the road to the other convenience store. read more

This is a great little country store in the town of Inlet. As far as non-chain stores go this is top of the list for me. Kalil's offers all types of great things to take with you on your journeys through the Adirondacks. They have a large selection of bulk nuts as well as homemade hummus and even lobster! This store also has great character with hard wood floors, and very polite workers. This is my go to store while in the Adirondacks! read more

This is a great grocery store; it's family owned and has been around for as long as I can remember (I started coming to the Adirondacks in the late 1960s). They have a good selection of almost everything you need; prices are reasonable. A super deli and seasonal veggies. They are open year-round; in the summer (July & August) from 7:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. after Labor Day, from 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. They take credit cards. read more

This is pretty much the only "grocery store" nearby to stock up on anything from fruits, vegetables, paper products, beverages, etc. etc. We stopped by twice during our weekend stay. I was surprised to find wayyyy more there than I expected. I mean, they had everything you would find in most grocery stores...and a variety too. The aisles are very narrow and tight, so it does get a little cramped if it's busy, but it's worth it if you are in town and need supplies! They had everything there that you would need to cook a meal. So if you are lodging nearby with a full kitchen, you can go to Kalil's and get everything you need to make your own dinner! Very impressed with their produce selection. Prices seemed decent. read more

(I edited this review) I have been to the Adirondack's for several summers now and have come to understand and love the area more. inlet is a small town and Kalil's appears to be the only grocery in town. The store has a little bit of everything when it comes to meat and produce (even live lobster) and the quality of the products are good. It's a great country grocery, well stocked with food essentials. There is a bakeshop at the back of the store and we bought 3 cheese loaf bread. They wrapped the bread up in a paper bag from La Brea bakery, from Van Nuys, CA! lol. I lived in CA for many years so i found this amusing, I personally like to buy products locally but if you are looking for a one stop shop then this is the place. Kalil's is mainly a food grocer but there are some personal care and hygiene products, brands are generic but well stocked (i purchased lotion and contacts solution). read more
