I went to this place for a 1-day conference. I must say that the accommodations were OK, but it felt vaguely like I was going back in time. Unfortunately, it wasn't the 1770's, it felt more like the 1970's. The decor of the place is nice and historical and all, but the piped in Barry Manilow and Phil Collins really took me back. Nothing like getting to the hotel after a really long drive and hearing "Looks Like We Made It", a Barry classic, blasting in through the halls. Also, the random pictures of brides and grooms in the halls really made me feel special on my business trip. A couple things with the room and the facilities. The room had a really nice flat screen and good beds, but there were no heating controls - only a heating unit that you could turn on and off. Hard to regulate. The meeting room seemed OK, but again the air conditioning was blowing on me continuously. Overall, though, the front desk, food and accommodations were OK. Best of all, the place was a real value. We came to the Grain House for easter brunch. While the food was good, the service left a little bit to desire. The staff left their tables unattended for a significant period of time. Our server took our drink order and then after about 15 minutes, asked us if we knew what we were doing in terms of the buffet. No one had provided us instructions or explained the layout of how the buffet worked. The food was tasty, but there were long periods of time where there were several empty chafing dishes of food. There clearly wasn't enough of food for the amount of people that had booked reservations. At the end of the service and our server missing for about 1/2 hour, we had asked for coffee and after asking AGAIN is when we finally received the coffee. However we received our check first before we received coffee. The restaurant seemed a little ill prepared for the holiday brunch. read more

We stayed at the Olde Mill Inn for a recent, local weekend getaway The premises were beautiful, our room was cozy, and the staff was impeccably attentive. However, our dinner at the Grainhouse was problematic. The restaurant ran out of the filet, which we were not told until about until after our order had been placed for some time. More importantly, a wedding reception was being held somewhere in the building, and our quiet, romantic dinner was turned into a table-shaking, bass-rattling event in which conversation was impossible. Not what I would have expected from this facility, especially at the premium paid. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant for these reasons. If you're having your wedding here, I guess you'll have a great time. read more

This is a review of the Thanksgiving buffet at The Olde Mill Inn. At $56 per person + 20% surcharge the dinner was not a pleasant experience and management should be ashamed of themselves. 5 of us arrived promptly at our 4:30 seating. We had to wait close to an hour while we watched other parties of 5 arrive after us and get seated. Once we were finally given a "table" we were shocked at what we were given. It was a plastic picnic table with a white tablecloth and cheap flimsy chairs. Unacceptable at this price. On top of that, our servers were terrible. This was definitely the Q team as you could tell the staff did not want to be there. On top of that, water and bread were not provided to us. Again, unacceptable. We ordered drinks and she had to leave and repeat our order 3 times. This is why restaurants should NOT do away with tipping. No way these waitresses deserved a 20% tip. They knew they were getting paid so there was no need to work hard for it. Food was good, but service and table settings were horrible. Avoid. To Glen, not only are you delusional, but you are also a liar. Maybe you do not have the mental capacity to know the difference between lawn furniture and banquet furniture, but Mr. F does. We were, along with other guests, provided lawn furniture by you and your staff. As far as you not knowing about our wait, maybe that is because you were no where to be found on Thanksgiving. The only person at the host station was Lindsay Stewart. Perhaps you were to busy taking care of Niel Cavuto to worry about other guests. A word of advice, take ownership of issues and try to improve upon you & your staff's shortcomings instead of making excuses & passing blame. read more

The hotel is very clean, the front desk rep were so nice and very friendly. Allen is the one that I recall speaking to. The Housekeeping department does not return any calls or emails. I have left 3 voicemail messages on their line for an item I left in the room and have not received a call back. I stayed there on April 26th for a wedding. I have also left a message with Allen for Jose to call me back, since he was not near a phone at the time that I called. I also emailed the establishment, and nothing as of today. It is a shame to have to such bad communication, really makes you not want to go there again. read more

This was a great little find on our way from apple picking up the road. The buffet was very solid with a lot of delicious and varied options for all tastes. The service was a little inattentive (there were a number of events happening, we weren't hotel guests and arrived without a reservation) but we weren't rushed at all, which was nice. The location was perfect for a place to meet some friends so I made reservations and was excited to try it again. The food was horrible. The worst food I have had in the area. Since the location was so good - we figured we would try it again and I would try something else. It was as bad as the first time. I pretty much live in hotels due to my job. I can honestly say that the staff here are the most unwelcoming staff I've come across in 3 years. Not one smile the whole time I was here. This place isn't really that great. Someone else mentioned that it's old like the 70's, not like the restaurant, which is charming. The heat is either on - blasting in your face, off completely off. The breakfast buffet is not good. I had to call each time I tried to log on to the Internet. There are minor repairs that are needed all over the place. I really couldn't recommend this place at all. When I see all the good reviews, I can't help but wonder if anyone who wrote has been in a good hotel. read more

I attended a wedding here and stayed the night. We went to the Grain House for dinner, the water barely came around however the bus boy was always refilling my water glass which was nice. The steak salad I had was good and has a nice citrus twist. After dinner I took a shower and the water wouldn't go down, when I opened the curtain I had a large puddle on the floor I had to clean up because apparently the shower curtain isn't long enough. Next my husband took a shower and I tried to blow dry my hair, he yelled what did you do? It seems when I plugged in the blow dryer the power in the bathroom went out. About 11:30pm a wedding must have worked it's way outside and they were out yelling and having a good time until almost 2am. When my sister the bride complained the next morning she was told "you should have called the desk" and then got a blank stare from the person behind the front desk. Her afternoon wedding was nice, took place outside at the gazebo. The maître d couldn't get the bridal runner undone and said forget it we'll say it's defective. My husband got very angry and said give it to me and he and the pastor unrolled it. After the ceremony the cocktail hour took palce outside under a tent and at one point I heard my sister get loud with the maître d asking for water. It seems she wasn't entitled to drinks during cocktail hour so she said I have pregnant women here please bring out water to she was replied to extremely rudely it's not in your contract until 1pm. She said it's now 1pm please bring out water! The maître d went inside and when he came out I caught him and nicely said I understand the cocktail hour doesn't include drinks however it would have been nice if water had been put out for people, it's very hot out today. He responded yes we're working on it, but it's not in her contract. I said I understand but we're only asking for water. Next the reception started inside it went off well until after cake when they started cleaning up. She asked what time it was and I replied 3:45pm. They were due to have the hall until 5pm however they were now rushing because they apparently had another wedding there and wanted to set up. Because she wasn't paying attention to the time she didn't realize they brought the cake out so early. After there were other issues as well such as they lost the stand that held the jar with the sand in it they filled during the ceremony, they took away an entire container of flowers left behind by the florist for her to hand out after the reception to aunts. Overall the rooms are dated, some staff, (not all of them) are rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend them read more

In house host however, well she was just plain nasty. One of those bouncy party hosts that turns into Gollum if you cross the line. This incident occurred at the Grain House. During a private party an elderly guest requested to take the remainder of her meal home as she barely ate her dinner. The waiter told her he would ask the manager. The manager appeared and told the 91 year old guest no - the restaurant wont allow it. Keep in mind this was not a buffet - but a sit down dinner. I would imagine the party host would be mortified to know that her guest was treated so poorly. How disappointing- I would have expected more from this establishment. The food was fair but disrespecting an elderly guest is inexcusable. read more

I was here for a wedding. The Olde Mill Inn was wonderful to the bride, groom and the rest of the bridal party. Everything flowed very smoothly, especially because of Amanda, the maitre d. She kept everything rolling and took care of anything the couple needed. The wedding took place at the gazebo and it was so beautiful. The bridal party didn't get to enjoy much of the cocktail hour because we were off taking pictures. However, the few things we did get to sample were wonderful. The mashed potato bar was great. There were chives, shredded cheese, bacon, pancetta, broccoli, roasted garlic, marshmallows (for the sweet potatoes), and sour cream. TASTY! I also stayed at the Inn for the weekend, and it was a great stay. I was relaxed, the staff were friendly, and the rooms were cozy. I really loved that each of the rooms led to the outside, either via a balcony or a door leading to the main floor. It was a lovely visit and I would definitely stay here again. read more

This is by far the best hotel I've stayed in, rooms are great and for the price, you definitely get your money's worth. However.... similar going to a nice restaurant and enjoying a meal... beautifully cooked and then the dessert being s**t. Upon waking up and heading down towards the area where breakfast was served, there was a second area with a hot breakfast and no apparent segregation of that and the cold breakfast..my friends and I made our way and grabbed some eggs and various breakfast meats. After getting our food and sitting down. One of the hotel staff asked if we were part of a particular wedding and we replied no becuaee we were actually part of another wedding party. The hotel staff told us pretty rudely told us that breakfast is not yours and walked away and stood by the door to make sure we didn't get up and grab some more. To me it's not the fact the breakfast was for someone else. It more along the lines of how they treated us and guarded us like inmates. For that alone and the complete rudeness I will not stay again. Maybe there's a reason why only old time B-class celebs stayed here and not A-class actors.... food for thought. read more

This was a very sweaty buffet. I sent my family ahead to the buffet in order to collect myself. There was a dusty silk plant on the table and some Xeroxed napkin rings. I said a silent prayer that there was a bar, and amused myself listening to a mom at the next table torturing the manager. I don't know exactly what her complaint was, but every permutation of complaining was justified. The food was like a wedding at Costco, easter at an old folk's home. I mean to tell you, it was old and sad. And, it bears repeating, it was all sweating. I circled the buffet table 3 times trying to find things I could bear to put on my plate. The adjacent hysterical matriarch ultimately got a profound apology, scratched out in the beleaguered inkeep's tears, accompanied by a gift certificate for a return trip to be disappointed at a future date. (You would straight up have to pay me to go back). In the interim, a young woman grabbed my unfinished glass of gin, over the lip, showcasing four fashion nail tips and a child's bandaid, as she tried to refill it with water. I watched my spouse push velveta shells around his plate for a few more minutes, and then helped him with the 20-minute process of requesting and eagerly awaiting a check. 2 stars because we'll laugh about it when we are old. read more

Stayed here about 5 years ago and booked it again for a quick trip. I seen to remember the rooms as being larger or nicer. The bed was ok, and the desk manager was nice enough to move us to an upper floor so one was above us. They had some kind of meeting there and the hotel was quite busy. The noise of the in wall heater/ air conditioner kept us up, but outside of that it was ok for one night. Room was $140 with breakfast, so a pretty good deal. read more

This place is absolutely awful and I suggest you stay anywhere else! When you first enter the lobby you can smell this musty damp smell that never gets better. Your room has not been updated since what appears to be the 1970's with a beer bottle opener attached to the bathroom sink. Instead of installing a thermostat they rigged a motion detector to the wall unit so when it's 90 degrees and 100% humidity you return to a sauna after a hard day at work. Think you will enjoy your private balcony think again unless you enjoy sharing it with wasps and lots of spiders. I asked them to sweep the webs and bugs off the balcony and it didn't happen. If you like powdered eggs your in luck for breakfast! Dinners are crazy expensive and you have to walk across a parking lot to have some, I didn't chance it. The outside is beautiful as well as the courtyard but do not let that deceive you. The staff is not friendly except the one guy who drives the shuttle when he is not performing maintenance. Just do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! read more

Had my wedding at OMI 6/4/16. Everything was fantastic! The grounds were magnificent, and the food was off the hooks wonderful. The crew at the OMI takes great care of the rooms and the grounds. The rooms at the inn were large and spacious. The AC worked wonderful and cooled the rooms down quickly. I was able to check in early which was a plus. Would highly recommend this location for a wedding or just to get away for a weekend. read more

The perfect venue for our wedding! We loved our wedding at the Olde Mill Inn!! In every way possible, The Olde Mill Inn made all of our wedding day dreams come true. I can't express enough how wonderful our wedding experience with them was. We are still getting massive compliments from our families and friends, many of whom have said they have never been to a more beautiful wedding. Working with coordinator Lindsay and maitre'd John was such a delightful experience as well. My husband and I enjoyed spending time with both of them, planning down to every little detail how we wanted our rehearsal dinner (which we had at The Grain House, and was equally wonderful), cocktail hour and reception to be, and they not only fulfilled our expectations - they went above and beyond. We were really blown away by how delicious all of the food was, the excellent service, and the little surprise extras that they contributed as well. Lindsay is such a sweetheart, and was so kind, creative, and patient with us throughout the process (including numerous calls and emails from me over many months, asking tons of questions). John was awesome as well - he really knows his stuff, was delightful to work with, and he not only made sure everything ran perfectly the evening of our wedding, but he also made sure that my husband and I got to eat! J The venue itself was so clean, well-maintained, beautiful inside and out, and allowed us to have numerous lovely backdrops for our photos. The Olde Mill Inn has such a warm, welcoming feeling, and that really resonated with us and our guests. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and incredibly talented. I would 100% absolutely recommend this venue to any couple getting married. You won't regret it! read more

Thanksgiving 2015 at the Olde Mill Inn was not what we hoped it would be. When making our reservation we were told we would be on the second floor balcony. There was one flight of stairs to our table. The chairs at our table were folding chairs with little padding. The chairs were very uncomfortable. At the table next to us there was a well behaved young boy who pinched his finger in the folding chair. The injury was severe enough to draw blood. My family felt terrible for the child and to see that family cut their dinner short. The serving staff greeted us in a friendly manner, took our drink requests and directed us to the buffet. The buffet was two flights of stairs below the balcony where we were seated. We passed through two dining rooms. The diners in those rooms had nice banquet chairs not folding chairs. The food was just okay, nothing outstanding. We are uncertain if it was the distance from the buffet to our table, but by the time we tasted several items on our plates the food was just luke warm and did appear to be hot enough. The cost was $54.00 per adult. Two medium glasses of soda were an additional $3.50 each and not included in the buffet price. 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill for the serving staff. We were very disappointed in our Thanksgiving at the Olde Mill Inn. The price was extremely high in comparison to quality and comfort of our visit. We will not go back nor recommend it. read more

Our ceremony and reception took place in The Grain House and all of our guests stayed at and pictures took place at the Old Mill Inn. Amanda, the maitre d, is an angel sent from the heavens! Her calming, organized, and professional attitude eased the craziness of having a wedding. She answered a billion emails from me even while she was away on vacation. Maria and Piedad, the captain and bridal attendant catered to every need we had and treated us with such love. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure our glasses and bellies were always full and that our wedding day went flawless with everyone in attendance feeling comfortable and having fun. This is a review of the Mother's Day brunch. Our first time there, and NEVER AGAIN! My husband and I arrived with our 14 month old to our 2:30pm reservation. The buffet ends at 3:30, so this was near the end of the event. Busy, but not super packed. Nonetheless, we were seated at a table, in the corner of the "piano room" which was essentially in the hallway. We literally were looking at the doors of people's hotel rooms. Our waitress arrived and clearly did NOT want to be there. She was miserable. Then, we come to find out that the entire buffet was located TWO flights down, plus a walk through a hallway and a large room. This was just not acceptable, especially with a young toddler and for nearly $60 per person! When we asked to be moved closer to the buffet, the lovely personalities running the show gave us a bit of attitude and stated that reservations were already made and blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile, there were plenty of open tables as the event was nearing its end. They finally accomodated us, but not without another rude comment from our pretentious hostess stating that we were made aware of the seating arrangement when the reservation was made over the phone - implying that essentially this is our fault that we are unhappy and they are doing us a HUGE favor by allowing us to eat there. My thought was - I don't work here! Being told that we are being seated in the "piano room" over the phone means nothing to me. Not to mention, the person taking the reservation said the food would just be a quick walk down the stairs. This was not accurate. But as far as I'm concerned, when you're in the hospitality business - the customer is always right! Don't you want people to have a nice experience - on Mother's Day no less, and come back again? Like other reviewers have stated, it is EXPENSIVE. I was really looking forward to celebrating Mother's Day there, and bringing back my in-laws next year, but NEVER again will I go back. On top of the awful service, the food was just mediocre - and all of it was ice cold! These people really do think they are doing you a favor by allowing you to eat there. Totally not appreciated as a customer who chose to spend her Mother's Day at the Olde Mill! They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves as far as I'm concerned. read more

My Daughter's Wedding took place here. I was very disappointed. Many of the things were unorganized. They actually didn't serve our table food until last. This gave us less time with to walk around and talk to guests. They made a bunch of mistakes. The person that took my reservation for a room was disinterested at best. Our maitre d, John Lietz, was fantastic and totally on top of everything. The food was fantastic, and the whole place just has a wonderful, charming atmosphere. Everyone still talks about how great our wedding was, the afterparty at the Coppertop Pub was a ton of fun, and the guests who stayed the night loved that they were already at the hotel, and didn't have to take a shuttle anywhere. I was at the old mill inn for my best friends wedding on Labor Day. This place and the maitre d John Lietz was the most unprofessional establishment I have ever been too. The runner at the ceremony was a major commotion. Then After the ceremony we had a cocktail hour with appetizers which were good but NOTHING to drink except the glass of champagne they hand you leaving the ceremony. When I say NOTHING to drink I mean no water no soda NOTHING. I then asked the John the matre d about drinks for the guest and he told me we have to wait a HOUR for drinks and juices and mimosa will be served. I understand there was no alcohol but no water and soda when your serving food is insane people could CHOKE. I answered him as such that this was ludicrous and he then screamed at told me to shut up in front of all the guest and the bride. Then he turned to my best friend and yelled at her too. HE RUINED what was a beautiful day. This place and john is totally UNPROFESSIONAL and a DISGRACE. He also kept asking DJ to lower music and just was so horrid. read more
