Great dinner for a hotel restaurant. The place was packed on a Friday night, with live music to boot which was a nice touch as we were here to celebrate a birthday. For food, we had the Caesar salad (great flavor and not overdressed) and the French onion soup (too sweet with not enough bread/cheese to onion ratio). For entrees, we had the burger (amazing and rich), steak au poivre (large portion), chicken (SUPER flavorful) and duck (HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This was a perfectly executed dish). The only sad part was when we ordered dessert, we were brought a card from the staff as a "congratulations". No singing, no candles, nothing. Rather disappointing with how expensive the dinner was. Minus that, overall nice experience.

Went here for the first time for my anniversary. Very nice space but service was just ok at certain points. Overall good service but a free tines where our waiter was missing in action. Despite that it was a lovely meal. Drinks were excellent especially my old fashioned. The crispy Brussels sprout appetizer was excellent. The salmon tartar was tasty and the mussels were amazing. Caesar salad was supposed to be good don't know since I won't eat that ever. We got the flat iron steak which was good. The piece de resistance was the ribeye eye steak with truffle butter. So yummy. Desserts were good as we had bananas foster and warm chocolate cake. Coffees were fine. Overall it was a very good meal but for the price not spectacular. Make your own decision I'm not fully sold but would be willing to give it another go.

We attended this inn with a wedding party and it was great. It is not inexpensive but the staff went overboard to make sure everyone had exactly what they needed. It is a small inn that is perhaps not out of Gilmore Girls but an older inn that has a lot of heritage. The inn has a downstairs which in all skillet hood hosts a ton of weddings. For our 35 or so group that ate there it was perfect. It has a seating area, a bar, and a dance floor. If the group had been 100+ I don't k ow where they would have put us but it was perfect for us. The food was really great and I would recommend it be considered for other weddings and medium sized group functions.

The Bernards Inn has been serving their genteel Somerset Hills clientele for the last 100+ years. Many star chefs have worked there over the decades. Through world wars and depressions and global pandemics, Bernards Inn has been there. A local institution, you never know who you might see at the bar.

Bernards Inn has great food and an excellent wine list. Robert, in particular, is a great waiter and we have enjoyed his service many times. Unfortunately, the manager, Mary Penny, took exception to my sense of humor and told us we were " not welcome" at the restaurant, for " inappropriate comments." The problem was that I didn't say anything to her! Those who heard these "inappropriate comments" thought they were funny, and that was my intent. I later called her to apologize and wanted to return. She said she would call back, and never did. I suppose the restaurant is doing so well, they don't need business.

We celebrate anniversary here. Fresh seafood, worth the money you spent. Love the environment, it's small but neat. You can enjoy the live music here. Waiters are nice too! You won't be disappointed, will definitely come back.

This restaurant is inside a historical hotel, with great ambiance and service that keeps loyal customers keep coming back to stay there and/or dine there. I have been there few times myself, all for business dinner, and I always had a pleasant time and good food. The restaurant is not a huge space but I think it is enough for the area. The main dining room has black and white tiles, creating that old-fashion feel to it, with simple furniture. They don't have crazy amount of tables on top of each other, so there are good amount of space in between each table. It is nice to dine in such relaxing and comfortable setting. But, since there is limited number of tables, reservation is highly recommended. The bartender of the evening, Neia was wonderful, she made awesome cocktails for me, and made sure to wait for me to get my camera ready before she made the cocktails. So sweet! Their food is also great, I usually have some kind of seafood, but my boss insisted on getting their chicken, which turned out to be a winner. Everything is made with great care, all very delicious. We were well taken care of by the servers, they were efficient and polite, do not bother you unless you need something, as this is more of a relaxing atmosphere. At the end, they brought out trays of complimentary sweets. On what else? Silver tier trays. It had chocolate, truffles, and red velvet cakes. They are a miniature size, as you can see them compared to eager fingers reaching out for them. They are very good too, if you are not wanting to have a whole dessert, but just a taste of sweet something, then you can just wait for these to come out instead of ordering a dessert.

Lunch menu is interesting. We had Salmon and pasta Cavatine with red heirloom tomato sauce for the mains and kale salad and chilled tomato soup for the appetizers. We also ordered a bottle of wine where the main confusion started. They didn't have four of the full bottles in the vintage years as mentioned in the wine menu list. The server Ms.Kathy was very polite and friendly she apologized for the miscommunication and charged us $69 for the 2017 of the same wine in place of $96.

Amazing dinner at Bernard's with friends for Kim's birthday, exceptional service, wine selection, menu and dinner! Fantastic martini to start, Belvedere, up 2 blue cheese olives, a little dirty. Foie gras and crispy pork belly (oh yeah), then dinner with a strip steak and porterhouse lamb for Kim. Great dinner, great service, good time with friends! They brought out a desert treat for Kim, playing happy birthday on the piano, and even had a card! Very nice, thoughtful!

The vast amounts of green space surrounding the pool use to be great for the kids to throw a ball or play games. It's no longer allowed. No in depth pool rules are posted on the website or at the pool facility. And yet lifeguards constantly blow their whistles for the most minor things. Without rules, who knows why or what you can or cannot do. Further the swim managers encourage constant whistles being blown by lifeguards and it makes the entire swim area very, very tense. The restaurant, which has been closed for renovation for many, many months reopened only to offer very standard and uninspired items. And very, very little for non-meat options. This will be our last season with this club, unless management makes the necessary changes, as there are countless great clubs and pools in our area.

I very much liked the fact that the vegetables I was eating came from the garden that was in my view. The recommended Carrot Hummus was pretty good accompaniment to the crunchy vegetables. The pastry options weren't the best however, the plain and chocolate croissants felt day old at best and weren't flaky to be honest. Sit down brunch was much better. It all started with a fresh smoked salmon tray with capers, tomato, and red onion. It went well with a warmed basket of mini bagels. The main entree of Eggs Benedict was rich, the poached eggs were done well on top of Canadian Bacon and a toasted English Muffin. An accompaniment of bacon and sausage was appreciated but not necessary but boy was it tasty! The Yukon potatoes were some of the best brunch potatoes ever, tasty and crispy. Same goes for the fries, which were still crispy as leftovers later in the day as well. The mini dessert platter was ordinary but a Red Velvet cake slice was really good. I also want to give Sean, the manager who oversaw my event, a special thanks!!! He treated me like royalty, anticipating my every need and was incredibly organized and kept me on schedule. I had three different outfits and he had his eye on the clock, shuttling me back and forth on his golf cart to the bridal suite when it was time for an outfit change. I also performed a solo dance to Madonna's "Like a Prayer," which went really well, thanks to Sean being so on the ball!! He moved the party guests from the bar area to the dance floor and coordinated with the DJ so I could make a surprise entrance from the rear of the building! The service was appreciated and helpful. The cocktail hour had a number of different station including a mashed potato bar, carving station, pasta station, cold foods, etc. I will not comment on everything I tried but just give a few highlights. There were also servers passing around a lot of dishes. Some of the highlights for me was the brisket at the carving station as it was very tender and meaty. The eggplant rollatini was flavorful with plenty of cheese and tomato sauce. My favorite pass around item was the bacon wrapped scallops while the worst was the mini chicken and waffle as it was soggy and not very good. For the main dinner, there was a salad, intermezzo, main entrée, and dessert. The signature grain house salad consisted of mixed greens, Roquefort cheese, Anjou pears, toasted pecans, and aged sherry vinaigrette. This was nicely done. All of the ingredients worked well with one another and the vinaigrette brought everything together. The intermezzo was a lemon sorbet which was definitely refreshing. For my main course, I had the honey miso glazed salmon. It came with wild rice and asparagus. This was great. The salmon was cooked perfectly and there was a perfect amount of the honey miso present. It was a nice sized portion as well. I also tried the vegetarian entrée that contained roasted red pepper stuffed with butternut squash risotto. This was surprisingly good too. The risotto was filling and creamy. I did not have any dessert. I also had their continental breakfast the next morning. It was a standard one with fruits, granola, oatmeal, donuts, breads, hard boiled eggs. The bread was a little stale, but besides that, it was what one expects at a continental breakfast.
