So I was a little taken back you got a little bit of everything in this location is really small. And the parking is terrible but what can you expect for downtown? I had to take my ticket inside and if you purchased something from one of the vendors, they have to give you a QR code for the parking garage and it's two dollars for parking. We had Indian food and the food was delicious. The young lady behind the counter was so nice. She let us taste the chicken before purchasing our meals. The food in the North market is expensive. It was almost $40 for two people to eat. Then we had Jennie's ice cream afterwards and it was $15 for two scoops of ice cream. Customer service was great as all the vendors were awesome and explained everything to us. Is this something that I would do again know just because of the parking and most of the restaurants inside of Markette is not something that I would normally eat very clean. There is a second floor for you to sit. I don't know if they had an elevator. I didn't see one, but I know there are stairs to the second floor. Very busy long lines and you feel like you have to rush to order something because all lines were so long.

I was told about this family run farm out in Canal while Ana dinner gathering last week. I can even begin to express how to say it... GET HERE NOW! Sweet tomatoes the size of marbles. Some that were no bigger than a crabapple tree berry. Some the size of my palm. They sell 250+ varieties right here in central Ohio. Can you beat that? Amongst the other succulent tomatoes I bought, I got what resemble tiny tomatillos (in the night shade family); you have to tear away the thin "paper shell". They LITERALLY taste like tropical fruit juice. I kid you not. I met David today, and he's a friendly, knowledgeable gentleman. Him and the co-owner, Joe, sell at a few markets around town, so if you don't catch them at one of those, make the trek southeast. No really. Do it.

There are also U-pick fields for strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, and in the fall there is a pumpkin patch!! They have lots of Amish jams, jellies, pickles, noodles, etc and also homemade Buckeyes and breads! They now take credit cards and Apple Pay. Only a few minutes from downtown Columbus!! Make sure you stop by to pick up your wonderful produce!!

It's way out there, and there's not much signage, so keep your eyes peeled for the market. Check in there and get your baskets weighed (bring your own, or pay 25 cents apiece for plastic bags.) Then drive out to the field, way in the back. Plenty of good berries on Memorial Day weekend, and in maybe half an hour we got 4 pounds. Take them back to get weighed, and pay $2/pound. Or, you know, $5/quart for pre-picked... Baby K was able to pick some, Dada's knees and back held up for most of the time, and we didn't collapse from heat exhaustion. They only have a few other things in the farm market in the spring: jam, noodles, cold drinks. I assume there is a lot more in late summer. We had a good time, got lots of berries for not much money, and have plenty to eat and cook with till ours come in.

My personal favorite is the rustic sourdough bread from Better Late Than Never bakery. I also appreciate that you can buy a variety of locally raised meat. The staff is always friendly and helpful and they often have a farmer/producer available to answer questions. There is a little café area where you can eat, it's sunny and welcoming. Fresh flowers brighten the space and the overall vibe is very charming!

In fact, just this morning we walked down and bought some fresh-picked blackberries. By this afternoon we had made them into a delicious pie. I win. All that being said, the selection isn't all that it could be. Canal is located very close to a number of working farms. However, the market only boasts five fruit and veggie stands. The folks selling locally raised meat haven't been around lately. There is a great bread stand courtesy Great Harvest Bakery, but that's pretty corporate. There are a few too many stands with things like Tupperware and knick-knacks. The farmer's market is open every Saturday morning through mid-October. Until August 27, it's open on Wednesday nights too.

Coffee was amazing, not to sweet, plenty of flavor and a great start to my morning. The slice of quiche was impressive and it was delicious after warming up and enjoying at work. The breakfast bar had no chance and was eaten as soon as I left the establishment and got in my car to leave. The cookie went to my daughter who had no problem devouring it and she thought it was so cute. No complaints everything was great. Overall just the cutest establishment, with lots to offer. Service was good and prompt and the ladies helped me decide on food that morning and got me up to speed quickly with the options they had available and that sold the most. Upon opening at 8am there wasnt many people and I was able to browse and order quickly as well. Cutesy find right by work that I will be visiting more often and already boasted about to others.
