Brought a brand new electric bike in for a premium tuneup and to install a chain. Paid a lot of money for that tuneup... And they did not touch one single thing - they did not tighten up one single thing. They only installed the bike chain. When I dropped the bike off, the service was outstanding. When I picked the bike up the person at the desk (who I paid) was outright hostile towards me. announced to everyone in the store that it was just a cheap electric bike after I asked them why nothing was tightened up. I absolutely love this place! gotten repairs here and shopped: Shopping: I am new to biking and every time I've been in the store they are super helpful but not over bearing like some places can be. When I looked lost they asked if I needed help, gave their honest input without trying to up sell me. I NEVER felt like they were bike snobs and even when I had obvious questions they were very friendly. Repairs: I was really nervous I was going to have to pay a lot but they only did the work that needed to be done and explained everything, why the parts needed to be replaced, etc. The cost ended up being lower than they quoted me which was even better!! Best Part: SAME DAY REPAIR!!!! They had all the parts I needed and were done within an hour!!! They even have a rewards program!!! read more

Swung by to have a fork fitted onto a frame as part of a bike build I am doing. The gang helped out great and explained a couple of other hidden issues I was walking into due to a custom paint job that got in the bottom bracket. USE CAUTION GOING TO THIS "BUSINESS." We took in 3 bikes that needed some repairs/maintenance. We asked for an estimate on the repairs and then we would decide which repairs we would proceed with. We received a verbal quote of $600+ dollars and in all honesty, the bikes are not worth that amount. My husband told them that he needed to talk to me and wasn't sure we would authorize repairs in that amount of money. We were going to decline their services and go pick them up. My husband then received a voicemail that the bikes were repaired and the cost was over $670+ dollars! I called the bike shop to explain we did not authorize this service and wanted to come pick our kids' bikes up. Now, we are told they have NO record of us NOR do they have our bikes! Total SCAM and they obviously stole our property! The "manager" that I spoke to told me that "He'll see me in Court." OK then! read more

Since the company wants to delete my comment on google reviews... I'll post my review on here... Went in with my family looking for bikes for 2 of us. Will never step foot in another one ever again! We went in there and felt immediately judged. We had to pry out information to realize our options in the store. His immediate response was, "we don't have any bikes for you" (full blown discrimination at its best)... (yet we can visually see bikes) So my husband asks, "No beach cruisers or anything?"... then he said he had a couple beach cruisers for me, and pointed us to them. Rudely ending the conversation... You don't want to inform the customers of what you're getting out of a beach cruiser? Or even ask what we are looking for? Sorry to be an inconvenience!!! My gosh!!! Then walked right back to chit chat with the rest of the employees...customer service is beyond suck, and I would have happily given this store 0 stars! Terrible customers service. Employees just look at you and don't speak when you come in the store. When someone finally came over to me they pressed me to leave out. Saying we having had anything in months but I saw bikes on the top rack I can't reach. They could've offered to order me a bike online or something. Maybe I'm the wrong color to shop here...I will definitely take my business to another shop that will make me feel comfortable when I'm about to spend thousands. read more

My sister recommended this shop and I later found it on the Adventure Cycling Association Transamerican Bike Route map #12 (starting map for Yorktown to Portland, Oregon.) I shipped my tour bike out from San Francisco and it suffered a bent brake rotor in transit. When I walked in the door I was warmly greeted by the owner (Dave ?) and he immediately put my wheel up on the truing stand and flattened the rotor so that I could start my tour safely. He would not accept any payment so I can only hope to pass on this good tour start karma to another cyclist. This is a well stocked shop. Highly recommend to all. read more

This is the BEST bike shop in the Burg!!! I have always had a great experience when I have gone in. The guys/gals are extremely knowledgable about bikes and all the accessories that go with them. Prices are reasonable and the staff is more than willing to find whatever merchandise is within your price range. I bought a pair of cycling shoes here and my feet could not get used to them. I returned them and explained my situation and they were more than willing to take them back. They suggested another pair, but they did not have them in stock, they were ordered, delivered, and on my feet within 48 hours! Now that is service. I also purchased pedals from them. Although I did not purchase my road bike from them, they offered to have them installed for free. Love this place. read more

Outstanding bicycle shop! I bought my first Trek MTB from Olde Towne Bicycles about 7 years ago; given the great buying experience with my first purchase I decided to trust this shop once again to purchase my 17 and 14 year old their first quality bike for Christmas (2019). I was assisted by Dan who was not only professional, knowledgeable and friendly, but very patient. Dan took the time to explain my options and helped me pick the right bikes for my sons; not too mention, I was given a very good deal on the Trek and Specialized bikes that I ultimately chose, and the shop is even going to hold the bikes for me until closer to Christmas, so I don't have to hide them in my shed. These guys are just plain awesome and I would definitely recommend them for your bicycle needs! read more

This was one of the reasons I constantly traveled north to Performance Bikes in Springfield VA for service and was told repeatedly of all the Fredericksburg bike customers who came to their store. Performance had service that was reliable, trustworthy, and a git-er-done approach. Tried desperately to get a Performance store in Fredericksburg. What a wonderful shop! The young man was extremely kind, courteous, and efficient. We thought we needed a new bike chain and once he looked at the bike, it just needed the rear wheel adjusted. Been there at least 5 times. With one exception, they've been rude and unhelpful. Final straw was when I came in to get new cables for my bike. They told me it would be at least a week. I said that was too long, especially since they helped the person in front of me get her bike fixed on the spot. They got very defensive and said every place else in town would take two weeks. Traded in our old mountain bikes that we hadn't ridden in ages and bought a couple of Electra Townie bikes at this shop. We drove a little way to get to this shop, as it has a larger selection than the Ashland location. I really liked a blue bike on the sales floor, but the salesman (JD, I think his name was) brought out a different color so I could be sure I was choosing the one I wanted. Once we purchased the bikes, he followed us out to our vehicle to be sure we got the bikes on our hitch rack properly, and he helped fit my ladies bike with a Yakima crossbar adapter so it would fit the bike rack. Everyone at this shop was friendly and seemed to be genuinely interested in helping. We love our new bikes, and we are finally riding again after so many years! read more

Worst bike shop in all of VA brought my bike in for a $250 tune up brought bike home, then took bike out for a ride and didn't make it a quarter mile and derail-er snapped off the bike i was on the paved road not the trail at a low intensity! So then i brought the bike into the shop and the employees began to get very aggressive with me when i mentioned this may be their fault and got into a big argument with me and tried starting a huge fight when i said this was their fault! I then asked for a refund for the tune up and or a New bike for this situation they brought me into and i got neither they didn't refund my $250 for the tune up on the bike they destroyed and they didn't offer to give me a new bike. So all and all i would say DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR BIKE TO OLD TOWN BIKES it's a scam and no one was even fired whom ever worked on my bike. When i brought this to the owners attention the next day i said do you think this may be one of your employee's fault he grinned and said no i do not and nor can we help you in any way! So there you have it folks OLD TOWN BIKES is a scam and they will more then likely do the same to you when i finally decided to buy a new bike from them the frame was destroyed with a wrench im saying chips all over the new bike and when i asked them about it they said it was just shipping problems and didn't even discount the bike. This is the kind of service you should also expect from a place like OLD TOWN BIKES!!! Do not go to OLD TOWN BIKES they will break your bike and not replace it! read more
