Don't even bother going to a place that doesn't have unlimited free chips. One round of free chips is never enough, and this is the only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to that charged for a refill. The pomegranate margarita I got was okay, but not strong, either in flavor or alcohol. It was a good size but was definitely overpriced considering it didn't really taste like much. I don't think of Scottsbluff as the home of fine dining (although the food and coffee scenes have improved a lot!) but the service everywhere is usually good. I could not believe how slow our server was at Ole. They were busy and we had to wait for a table - no big deal. Once we got seated, though, we couldn't get a server. We waited... and waited... and asked.. and waited. He finally showed up, but without even water, and took our drink orders. Finally somebody toured by with chips and dip (good salsa, weird but good pinto bean dip) and still no drinks. Finally, after 23 minutes, we got ice water. Seriously. I was watching the clock. Everything else was like that, too, super slow. The food was actually pretty good; my beef burro filling was oversalted but everything else our table ordered was tasty and seasoned reasonably well. read more

Ok, well the food was good but there were many issues. First our Margaretas we ordered without sugar or salt on the rim. They come anyway with the sugar on the rim. First sip we couldn't taste or smell any alcohol. We asked the server and she said it was a premix the owner makes. She said we could buy a shot to go into them. Crazy! So, sent them back. Not drinking or paying for flavoured ice for at that price. Then the food came out. Shrimp fajitas, looked good and tasted good: beef enchiladas, oh, wait, she brought me cheese enchiladas. Took 5 minutes to get her attention. She said she would get me the right order. Finally got my correct food. Tasted good enough. Then my friend found a plastic wrapper in her water. Yuck. When we got our check she didn't take off the Margaretas. She said, "you took a drink, so you have to pay for them". Nope. Got the manager, she took it off after we had to explain it all. Server was careless, not paying attention and wrong for charging for items they messed up. Basically, this place is Ok, food is acceptable, service is sketchy. Not going back. I wanted something convenient and this was close to where I was staying. I went in on a Sunday, mid-afternoon. The staff was friendly. It seemed clean from my vantage point and suitable for all age groups. They offered a large selection of items on the menu with the restaurant favorites marked. I asked for further recommendation from my server. I went with her choice, and it was "okay". The steak in the dish was very tough but otherwise the food was reasonably tasty. In fairness, more than one staff member came by to see how I was doing and if everything was OK. I didn't send the food back, nor did I feel it was worth a complaint. However, Scottsbluff Nebraska appears to offer many Mexican style food choices and I would imagine that restaurants need to be top notch with food quality and service in order compete in a saturated market. No, not a complete disappointment, but I think I will try someplace else next time. read more

Our group had 17 people in it when we visited this restaurant which might have been part of the problem. The server was very nice and did a great job of taking care of us. They also have a very good salsa and queso dip. I ordered the Chimichanga though and it wasn't that great. The burrito wasn't fried very much and the shredded beef was dry and a little bit tough. My wife's enchiladas came back with only cheese in them which was not what she ordered. Overall, this isn't the best Mexican restaurant that I have been to but it is far from the worst. read more

Fairly good for Mexican food in Nebraska. Their version of hot sauce is more between medium and mild. Doesn't come close to the Mexican food from San Diego area but it is Nebraska so it was actually better than expected. I would return for the sole reason that all the people in the kitchen are women! Have been here twice. Both times I was NOT impressed. We had a very large party the first time, and NOT ONE person could give a good thumbs up on the drinks or the food. I am visiting Scottsbluff for work and decided to walk here from my hotel. The staff was extremely nice, offering to add plastic silverware and packing multiple salsas so I could try both. We have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. My parents eat here regularly, which is at least once a week. We normally have great service and the food is always amazing. However, our meal tonight took over an hour to send out to us. We only had four adults in our party and two babies. We finally had to point out to management that we had not received our food. The first manager seemed confused and didn't know what to do. The second manager came to our table and apologized. However it was decided that for our years of loyalty and our hour wait, it was only worth a bag of churros and sopapillas. I'm so disappointed that our patronage wasn't respected tonight. Stopped in because Applebee's was on a long wait. Quick seating, but we had to pass out our own menus, which is something I don't enjoy as it takes a few seconds to spread them out and the server is getting paid, not me. We got sat and received chips and salsas before anybody even asked for our drink order, which took several minutes to get placed. When we got our food the server, Lorena, did not place my table mates order gently on the table but almost threw it at him. My oven-temperature plate was not placed in front of me, but several inches to my right, making it so I had to figure out how to move it without burning my hands. If you're going to serve customers hot plates, you should give them something to grab them with or place them in room temperature plates so customers can move plates if need be or share with table mates if so desired. The food was delicious. My shredded beef was nice and tender and the green chili was delicious. I could have used a little more green chili and less meat so I could have tasted the fried tortilla more though. read more
