I then waited for an hour to be seen only for the receptionist to be extremely rude to me. I was eventually taken into one of the rooms only to wait another 45 minutes - I literally had to come out and check multiple times and each time the receptionist gave me attitude. The doctor saw me for 30 minutes and then sent me somewhere else to get tests done. When I called to make a follow up appointment the receptionist said the doctor would be out of the office for over two weeks, mind you I can't walk right now until he sees me again. Then a few days later I find an appointment with a different doctor in that office and book it. When I show up no one is there and they don't answer the phone for 20 minutes where I finally connect with someone she stella me that the doctor decided he wanted to leave early for the day and I could come back another time if I wanted.

This review is solely based on the unprofessional disrespectful front desk ladies! OK So let's talk about it! I came into the office on October 18th seen the doc everything went great. He put In a order for orthopedics. I told the front lady about it. She like great I'll give your insurance a call today meaning on the 18th but that didn't happen! Weeks go by my feet are hurting and my knees are starting to cave-in. I called the office November 5th One of the ladies take a message and said she'll leave a note and have her call me back When she arrives at 2 PM I didn't get that phone call! So I called my insurance to see if the order was put in. Nope! no order put in. so I called back the next day November6 now this receptionist said oh she only works on Friday! And she didn't leave a note! Okay! At this point I ask to speak to the doctor, told him It's going on 3 weeks now and I'm still waiting for The receptionist to just make a PHONE CALL!! he said he will handle it I finally get a phone call November 8th from the receptionist with so much aggression in her voice! Telling me she was sick for three weeks and that I'm not the only patient! Wow ok! So I asked her to put the doctor on the phone she put me on hold for about six minutes comes back and said he's busy then her tone changed it went from very hostile to apologetic to she's going to try to do the best she can then to shes sorry! At that point she knew she was out of line! She made the call 3 weeks later! On November 8th! How do I know.. my Insurance told me and it was approved the same day she made the call Fast forward to today! I am in the office on time as away a lady gets there after me but she goes before me I get up and I ask what's going on and tell her the time of my appointment she gives me a very vague and dismissive response I go and sit back down at this point I'm waiting for an hour now it happens again a guy that came after me was called she tries to play me like I'm stupid and say there are different doctors for different people but me and the guy are there to see the same doctor so how was he being called before me so I ask how many people are ahead of me because clearly I was here before everyone she turns her back to me and continue to do what she was doing I ask to speak to the doctor She waits about two minutes before she call his name out just three steps away from her in a different room he comes out and I explain to him what happened! Then she jumps in and tries to over talk me then she whispered to the doctor and told him I was rude to a lady on the phone but what she didn't know is all my phone calls are recorded! So not only are you a liar you're a disgusting disrespectful unprofessional worker! These front desk ladies are bad for business! They do not represent the doctor very well! Next step is HR! Upsetting...I went in to be proactive on a potential ingrown toenail. I am scrupulous about taking…read morecare of my feet due to a history of a broken leg with metal from a cycling accident 3 years ago. My orthopedic surgeon from HSS had told me to be careful as that leg with the metal plates is more vulnerable to infection. So when I thought I was getting an ingrown toenail I thought I was being proactive and researched and found Dr Newmark who had positive reviews. I made an appointment for that very day. That perhaps should have been my first warning. That he had an available appointment immediately. His bedside manner is very nice and due to his positive reviews I felt at ease. However as he was cutting (just a little of the toenail in his words) he cut my toe quite deeply. I couldn't believe it. When I got home and evaluated it more closely I was so upset. I called him and asked him for oral antibiotics to prevent an infection in that leg with the metal plates. But first he said are you sure I cut you and that it is not the Betadine? First of all I know he knows he cut me as in the office he hid it from me with his hand blocking my view of the bleeding so that was completely disingenuous. Second of all I am in the healthcare profession myself and I know blood when I see it but even a child would have realized this was blood and not Betadine. Third of all the pain from this cut was and is intense. I wasn't going to post a review as I don't like posting anything negative and I also think he is a nice person. However nice doesn't make it OK and this could be a serious complication for me and I am so worried. I don't want anyone else to make a similar mistake and that is why I decided to share my experience. I showed the photos to a good friend who is a podiatrist and who had been cutting my nails for me the last 3 years since my accident and never once cut my toe. The only reason I didn't see her this time is she is away and I was being proactive. What a mistake on my part. Anyway my podiatrist friend said and I quote " I don't like saying anything bad about other doctors but this is inexcusable" I am also quite concerned about his sterilization methods and I pray his instruments were autoclaved. In hindsight I am very worried as the office (and again this is in hindsight and you know hindsight is always 20/20) didn't seem all that clean. Ugh so sorry to have to share this experience but I couldn't live with the thought I didn't share in order to prevent someone else from dealing with this. I hope this doctor learns something from this experience and goes on to be more careful with others. I told him all about my surgery and metal plates in that leg and still this is what he did to me. Good: - Weekend hours and willing to accommodate your schedule - They are budget conscious if your insurance sucks Bad: - The receptionist is nice in person but not so nice over the phone and seemed a bit incompetent. - The office is dirty and seriously out of date. They made me stand to get an xray of my foot. The whole reason I was there was because I couldn't stand. -To get to this office there are stairs or a non- ADA compliant ramp. Why is a doctor's office that treats foot problems not accessible?! - I left in more pain than when I came in and ended up getting a second opinion elsewhere.

I'm updating my previous review. I've now been to this podiatrist 3 times in a year (twice within 4…read moreweeks). My issue is that I returned after a year of trying conservative management of my painful feet issues, to no avail. I needed a more in-depth investigation into the cause of the pain. He ordered an ultrasound of my feet which I had done at an NYU facility, and he ordered PT with very generic diagnoses (not based on any diagnostic evidence). In retrospect, PT should have been ordered after the ultrasound results were reviewed. The day I started PT I received my US results so I was able to show the PT the results, because he wanted to know what we were treating, since it was vague. I have multiple neuromas, plantar plate tears and little toe joint inflammation. The PT said PT doesn't help for neuroma pain and was annoyed by the lack of direction from the podiatrist. And I was getting annoyed as well. I went to my follow up podiatry appointment and it was like we were meeting for the 1st time. He didn't remember what my problems were or that I had had an ultrasound. He gets the results but I guess doesn't read them in advance, like not even right before I walk into his office, like just read your past notes quickly so that you remember the background info of the patient's issue. So I reiterated all my pain issues and informed him I did the US he ordered and has he seen the results as well. He then quickly looked at it and reiterated the neuromas (which aren't new), didn't mention the bursitis or the ligament tears. I had to point it out and ask. We talked about cortisone injections which I wanted to try since I really just wanted some relief. The 1st injection was so rough and painful that I flinched and felt the needle (which started through the top of foot) hit or even go through the ball of my foot. It's been 6 weeks and I still feel pain in that spot, like there's a small rock in the ball of my foot. I did another injection in my peroneal tendon which also hurts, and it helped very minimally. I also finally conceded to custom orthotics. He seemed a little clumsy making the molds (which were tbe foam boxes you step in and aren't used by most good podiatrists anymore) and had to do it over. He said it should take about 4 weeks and they'll call me when it's ready. After 6 weeks I hadn't heard from anyone so I called. The receptionist didn't know what I was talking about and there was no note of the molds being sent out. Plus, had they been sent out and received, I would've been billed since they won't make them without being paid first. So he probably stuck them in a corner somewhere, and maybe they got thrown out and he didn't remember he made them in the 1st place, because had he realized they didn't go out, you'd think he'd call and apologize for the mishap and we need to redo the molds. I went and saw someone else shortly after who was much more helpful, ordered an MRI, rx'd anti-inflammatories, taught me taping techniques, made casts for orthotics which I got back within 2 weeks. So, he's a nice guy, and made an ok 1st impression, but is overall pretty sloppy, has poor follow through, and questionable skill with procedures and diagnostic ability...

They took a couple of months to be made and cost about 500 dollars. They didn't help. I went to another podiatrist in the neighborhood who gave me cotton stick on metatarsal pads at no additional cost. They have helped immensely. I wear them in all my shoes. Metarsalgia, I've come to understand is such a common problem. He should have been the first one to give me the cotton pads. I didn't need to be taken for a ride. Thinking of this, a few years later still makes me so upset. Go elsewhere. I'm assuming he got a cut of the profits from the orthotics company.
