Alvarado just took down 3 large poplars right next to my house. They were hit by lightning and needed to removed. Alvarado came out gave a quote and had them removed in two days. The crew came out were very friendly and worked hard through out the day. They brought the trees down and hauled them out. Will use them again. They were also the most efficient in price. There are two listings for this same company. This is our review from the other listing as this one seems to have more traction. We cannot be more upset with this company. They came to take a tree down/haul away and in the process; took out part of our neighbor's fence and also destroyed a very large beautifully stacked woodpile we had in our backyard. They also (via their business card and invoice) said they accept visa/mc/amex on the quote. Upon coming to collect they said their credit card machine was down and we had to pay by check. That seemed odd, but we did and then called the office to voice our concern. We were then told we would be given a $300 credit towards a future job and that they had forgot to cross out the acceptable credit card payments and they do not accept them. We then decided to give them another chance and have them haul away already cut/sectioned downed trees that we had. The quote seemed high, especially with the "$300 credit", but figured they would be more professional. They were not. We asked the crew when here to haul away a few extra pieces of wood. After 10 calls/voicemails to the office that were never responded to; a worker came to the door and told me it would be an extra $150 via the boss. I asked him to have the "boss" call me since they hadn't all morning, to which he said they were not at the office, they were "off." This is 11am on a non-holiday Monday. I told him that price was ridiculous, but stated that hey had to re-stack the wood pile they destroyed during their last job. They did without hesitation. After going back to the area, we noticed that they left an absolute mess. There were large pieces of the tree from the prior job they did not haul away (because it was under the destroyed wood pile) along with limbs and smaller chunks, and also they stashed the neighbor's destroyed fence as well. All phone calls to this company since have gone unanswered and we have yet to get a call back from 10+ voicemails. The company and Jose seemed to be legit, but they are not. Be very very very very wary as their pricing was much cheaper than other companies, but you will be left with much more of a headache and the feeling that you were taken. Oh and they still do not accept credit cards while everything they sign/quote/give says they are happy to accept those methods......We wish we could give negative stars. We wanted to compliment the workers as they were on time and seemed professional until we discovered the mess left from the original tree removal. read more

I called Alvarado to have a large dead pine tree and stump removed from my back yard. They showed up at my home and gave me a quote within a few hours of my call. The price was great. The company had excellent communication. The scheduling was easy. When they came, my wife was home and she commented that the crew of about 4 were all very polite to her and professional. The work was done in very, very quick order. They left the yard clean--took everything away. The stump removal was first class and they took all the surface roots out as I requested. I have used Alvarado a couple of times in the past and always had great service and very good prices. I will use them again whenever the need arises. read more

Very good working experience with this company. I've hired them three times and each time they provide a reasonable estimate and go out of their way to meet my needs. Their staff are professional and courteous and leave your yard looking like new when they're done. The most recent job was yesterday and it was a complex job. They brought in a crane, took down the three massive trees, and did it without trashing the neighborhood or my yard. Great service - I'll hire these guys again! read more

Saw these guys across the street handling my neighbors tree damage after the derecho. They gave me a reasonable estimate and provided copies of their insurance and licensing. These guys are the real deal. They had to take down a giant piece of our tree that was threatening the roof. They made it look easy. They work safe and cleaned up everything including some brush from my neighbors. Top notch service, affordable and safe. They really are certified tree"experts"as their license states. read more

I have used this company several times over the last few years to take down big trees and dead branches from our backyard. They are quick to respond and schedule the work. The work is done to specifications. I've always been happy until this year. I paid Olinda for tree and stump removal and went they needed to reschedule the stump removal several times due to a problem with their equipment we decided we could live with the stump and asked for the $300 we paid for stump removal back. It's now several months later. I've called 8-9 times. I've been told the refund was already mailed. But we still have not received our money back from Olinda. I'm very disappointed and frustrated. read more

Don't use this company. Called to schedule a free estimate and was told the minimum price would be $350. When the person came to my home for the estimate he said the minimum is $500. I told him when I called I was quoted $350. He stated he would give me a break and wrote the estimate for $400. The office called a few days later asking if I planned to use their service. I stated that because they gave me a false price I wasn't interested in their service. The representative then responded you should be glad he gave you an estimate that was lower than $500 and then said good bye and hung up the phone. read more

Do not use this company! Very unhappy customer. I priced out a few companys to cut down two trees in my yard and this was the cheapest so I picked them. Well you get what you pay for I guess. They did a terrible job. Did not cut the trees down to where we discussed. Just lopped the very top off and left. We called them back out to do what they were supposed to because we had already paid and the manager agreed that they messed up and to have the team come out again to cut to the trees further down. The second time the team still only cut the top couple feet off the tree...no where NEAR what we had agreed upon. The form I signed was in broken english so it was hard to fight it, but I know for a fact what the manager and I agreed upon and they did NOT do it. I called him up and told him i wanted them to cut further down before the team left and he gave me an attitude and argued with me and my husband. All we wanted was to get the trees cut down to where there were some holes/knots in the side. It was a very clear mark where we agreed the trees would be cut. But after paying $900 they refused to cut any more and did NOT do what was agreed upon. They left huge tall trees with branches and only cut the very tops off. Now I still have to get them cut further down because the dead part (which is dangerous) is still there. Very very unhappy both with the actual tree cutting as well as the major argument and attitude the manager gave me. He also told me one of his employees is a drunk...he asked me if the drunk guy is the one who came out to see me the first time. Really? Come on Alavarados...stop ripping people off. read more
