We arrived in Bar Harbor via a cruise, and were just there for the day. Since my husband was really looking forward to trying the lobster and clams, we decided we would spend a few hours hiking in Acadia national park and then come back to town for lunch. Unfortunately, after talking to the locals, we were informed that that really wasn't possible as there were no hiking places close by. Instead, we took took the 2 and a half hr tour all over Bar Harbor and Acadia and Cadillac Mountain with Oli's and I'm glad we did. We have a 6 year old who loved taking pictures, but would have had a lot of trouble hiking up those mountains. And our guide, Jimmy, was excellent. read more

This is a review of one downtown tour. The guide wasn't remotely local. He doesn't live here except when he's doing the tours. We got about four or five facts you could find on Wikipedia or a script. The rest of the time, he was pointing out things we could see...like the Subway, the Mexican restaurant, and other places to eat. Not much of anything about when the town was founded, the history of how the territory changed hands, or anything about war experiences. He did mention some facts about the fire of 1947. It's possible other guides are far better. They need better quality control, though. Also, as far as other tours of Acadia, etc, there is now a free bus that runs during season. So if the history/tour part isn't good and you're just using it to get around...go with the free shuttle. read more

Our driver was knowledgeable and made the trip fun! We booked the 2 1/2 hour Acadia National Park Tour. Include in the trip was going to Cadillac Mountain as well. A nice way to view the park without the hassle of driving and trying to park. Passengers aboard the trolley were late getting back to the trolley which made the tour run 15 minutes late. Upon return our tour guide was reprimanded by Larry (maybe a manger or owner) however, our group felt it was unprofessional. read more

My spouse and I took Oli's based on a friend's recommendation. The trolley was a 2 1/2 hour long ride inside an old trolley car that had open windows to allow a breeze. We felt the Acadia National Park was a bit overrated and the amount of traffic and people were overwhelming. Our Oli driver didn't use the microphone headset which made it difficult for us to understand anything he said. We suggest that more time be spent at other stops and eliminate the Jordan Pond stop which was used as a bathroom break. The trolley was semi comfortable with seated cushions that get uncomfortable after awhile. When parking your car expect to pay a lot for parking in the Bar Harbor area. While the park was disability friendly in some locations the trolley was not. There were areas of the park closed due to construction or under protection for wildlife. read more

She was also wiz at maneuvering the trolley through downtown Harbor's tight streets. It's so amazing to be at the peak of Cadillac mountain! We had a group of 7 and took the trip for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Sindy was our tour guide for the 2 1/2 hour tour. She was very informative and had a great personality. Just wish we had a little more time at the stops we made - Especially Cadillac Mountain and Jordan Pond. read more

We chose the 1.5 hour Acadia sunset tour up Cadallac Mountain and were not disappointed. Our guide provided some interesting facts about the island during the drive and we didn't have to fight traffic or find parking spots for the beautiful view of the sunset. read more

Our second Oli's Trolley tour and everything was just as good as expected. The 2 1/2 tour is a great way to get off your feet for a while while exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia Park. A couple stops to stretch the legs are well timed. Jimmie, our driver, was a gentle giant of a man with a homey Texas drawl - an unexpected surprise in Maine - who spun fun stories about the area as we drove around. Highly recommended. read more

We took the 2.5 hour tour of Acadia. This works for a start to vacation for overview or for folks who are not up for a hike. Three stopovers. But you get 14 minutes to explore. Not quite enough time for me. If you want to spend time take the free shuttle running around. Guide informed and great. My 6 year old enjoyed although not perfect for her. read more

Took a trolley tour on 8/22/17 with Kurt as our guide/driver. We visited Acadia National Park (Jordan Pond, Thunder Hole, and Cadillac Mtn). Kurt was very informative of the history of the park, and of Bar Harbor in general. He talked about the history, geology, famous people, personal stories, the Great Fire of 1947, and even gave eating/food recommendations for us to try out. He is a safe driver, with a vast wealth of knowledge! Stay away from lobstah ice cream, but do try all the other flavors when in Bar Harbor Village. LOL. Will like to try other Oli's Trolley tours in the future. Good fun! read more

Friendly and very knowledgeable staff, John (our tour guide) was very knowledge about the island and Cadillac mountain, had plenty of time at the top of Cadillac mountain to take some breathtaking pictures, great way to get a small education on the area, also gave us some great recommendations on places to eat and we even tried the lobster ice cream! We just got back from spending the last 4 days exploring Acadia. I wanted an introduction to the park so I booked Oli's Trolley for the first morning. We did the 2.5 hour Acadia tour. It right on time and ran perfectly on schedule. Our driver Jim was entertaining and informative. I really appreciated getting the history of the park, the town, knowledge about Maine and even great restaurant recommendations! I think everyone should do this tour for a great introduction to Acadia. Getting the overview of the park really helped with planning out the rest of our visit and figuring out where we wanted to explore further. read more

Hubs booked downtown tour one hour only. Driver knew his facts but tour was lackluster. Bench was uncomfortable and decided against booking the 2.5 hour tour. No good photography was had by me. Marketing guy pushy on getting us to book more tours-he needed to chill. Would not recommend. read more

My wife and I took the 2.5 hour trip thru Acadia National Park with Oli's Trolly. We throughly enjoyed our time on this tour. Lucy, our driver shared the extensive history of the park and pointed out scenic panoramas. She kept us on time and answered all questions. Taking the trolley allowed both of us to enjoy the scenery and information, something that we could not have done on our own. read more

This tour was great...it wasn't their fault that it was raining cats and dogs and that we couldn't actually SEE anything...it wasn't their fault that a sight seeing tour was pretty much a listening tour. :) The driver was super friendly and knowledgable. We had a great time...I can now say I stood somewhere where there was a really great view in Acadia National park...but I just got really wet looking at rain. Fun though! If they could control the weather, I'd give them 5 stars! read more

We took the 2 1/2 hour tour on May 17 arriving on the Oceania Marina. Ollie's Trolley is a short walk from where the tender leaves you off. We had a great tour, our tour guide who is a local had a wealth of knowledge and many stories about the area both Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park which he shared with us. The park is beautiful with many great vistas of the coast and the mountains. It was a very worthwhile tour at a fraction of the price of a similar tour offered by the cruise line. I took the 2.5 hour tour. At first I hesitated and thought it would be too long however, time went by pretty quick. Paula was our driver and she was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She made stops at great locations and by the looks of the car traffic we would have never seen on our own. I think the 15 min stops were a bit short but enough time for a quick look and pics. My family (including 15 yr old son) really enjoyed. read more
