Since the Palm Springs location closed, I have found myself venturing to Palm Desert just to pick up a bottle of my favorites. Olive a sudden is a great little hidden gem that I highly recommend stopping by and checking out. Not only do they carry olive oil, but also an incredible spread of balsamic vinegars. The shop is laid out like a fancy perfume boutique with large canisters boasting every flavor you could imagine. The associate I interacted with on this last trip was super friendly and encouraged me to sample as many of the offerings as my heart desired. Small little plastic cups are provided, and she even pulled out some crackers to help with the experience. I've been here a number of times and every time has been great. This time we came to select a bottle of the black cherry balsamic . I used to think that I was not a vinegar girl, but this place changed my mind. The infused balsamic are my favorite, but don't sleep on the White balsamic either. They are just as tasty and go great in a salad or on top of fruit even! For those who don't like things to be too sweet, but want a little kick to their dishes. I highly recommend grabbing a bottle or two. Plenty of parking in this shopping center, so no problems finding a spot to browse! read more

We found this place accidentally and so glad we did! We were greeted by Garry who was amazing! He was knowledgeable and very helpful. He offered us many combinations that were delicious! They have every type of Olive oil and Balsamic vinegar (white and red). They have small and large bottles. They also carry the best truffle oils. I ended up purchasing variety of bottles. When it comes to selling olive oils, this is indeed as good as it gets. Olive A' Sudden sells olive oils, balsamics, and other specialty oils like truffle and almond. Now you may be hesitant to buy a whole bottle of something like lavender olive oil or a super spicy blend. However, the store lets you sample pretty much everything, so go nuts! I am a big fan of the garlic olive oil. I also got the hassina which is very, very spicy. I wanted the smaller size of that one but they were out of stock. It worked out though; they sold me the bigger bottle for the price of a small one! Now that's how you keep business. read more

Absolutely amazing, this is one of those places that you HAVE to go to when you're in the area. Everyone is so incredibly sweet, the different tastes and aromas of the oils can only be experienced while you're there. All of the oils are set up around an area and you have small cups to sample out of. There are also several different balsamic oils to try, as well. Found this place through a friend who recommended it. the assortment of olive oils and balsamic vinegars are just outstanding. they offer you the ability to sample both oils and vinegars. they sell individual bottled and gift boxes with four smaller bottles of which they do requests for particular selections in the gift boxes. the staff is very helpful and friendly. great place. read more

Great experience here, the owner walked us through some basics of olive oil. We were looking for a flavorful oil to enjoy and were novices, tasted several oils and decided on one that fits our taste palate. If we lived in this community this would be a regular on our shopping trips. read more

My boyfriend and I have been big fans of Olive A Sudden products for a long time now but hadn't had a chance to go into the store until recently. We dropped by the Rancho Mirage location over the Labor Day Weekend and were immediately greeted by Ali. She was very friendly, attentive and helpful without being pushy We told Ali about the flavors we had tried in the past and what we liked and were looking for. She quickly made some recommendations that are sure to be our new favorites - the Harissa olive oil and the Blackberry Ginger Balsamic - and also introduced us to the newly released flavors. We ended up choosing four bottles and Ali made sure to specially package the ones we were gifting. We will have to come back soon for other flavors as soon as we have more pantry space. I have been looking for a gourmet olive oil and balsamic vinegar specialty store in the desert. Happy to find this new place centrally located on Hwy 111. I had a nice talk with the owner and the manager and was offered a sample of any and all the products. I bought the traditional balsamic and cinnamon/pear. They have 3 different sizes and fabulous flavors. I found the prices competitive with another store in the LA area - in fact a bit lower. read more

I am a regular here. They are very helpful with their recommendations. I mostly use for dressings. My favs are the Pineapple Vinegar (paring with the Tuscan Herb Oil) and the Cranberry Pear. I add a bit of fresh oregano and thyme, salt and pepper to the mix and the result is unique and wonderful. No need to ever buy bottled dressings again. read more

Hooray! I'm a former gourmet cook and my husband had only had imitation aged balsamic goop before so I bought him a very expensive bottle of balsamic that was a revelation to him. Apparently, it was to other people also because the site ran out and hasn't had any since. How wonderful to find something just as good here, in quantity and much less expensive! Great Products! Super Courteous Service! Had fun visiting with staff at the Palm Desert Store today. Love that you can taste test all their varieties of Balsamic Vinegars & Olive Oils. Offering several sizes of bottles and price points, including a perfect "sample size" bottle for $5 (60ml). Very knowledgeable Staff offered multiple uses for each specific vinegar/oil. I loved my first "sample size" of Cinnamon Pear Balsamic on Asparagus and fresh Green Beans, or Chicken & so much more....ran out, so this time I was confident to purchase their largest bottle for $18 (375ml). My fav Balsamics so far: Cinnamon Pear, Black Cherry, Espresso, & Raspberry.... Just purchased their Tuscan Herb Olive Oil, Sweet & Sour Mustard...can't wait to try them!
