On my first day I was rudely awoken to a verbal assault from a staff member who used dehumanizing language, calling me a "stupid f***ing addict." I filed a grievance and nothing was done about him. She not only helped me individually, but eventually after seeing her for many months I was able to bring my partner (now husband) in for couples therapy, which was a HUGE move for him. Because of her our relationship grew stronger. She never let her personal beliefs or feelings get in between our couples therapy sessions. There was even one session when I remember my husband making a sarcastic remark towards a specific religion. I chuckled because I just happened to know that Pam had once been of that faith. But Pam stayed so professional and never even led him onto know this, she just let him continue to vent. I miss working with her dearly, but HIGHLY recommend her services to anyone.

She's a joy, knowledgeable, loves what she does and a continual encouragement in all challenges others may face. We only interfaced with one other particular individual who has promoted herself with a title of which she is not. She ASSISTS someone who is licensed, but is not herself. Due to our insurance, we were not allowed to see the licensed professional. This assistants office was filled with items reflecting and promoting personal conduct she engages in, believes in, and only my child picked up on symbolism around the office I was unaware of. In the hour we were with her, she mocked personal beliefs and overtly undermined the role that a parent plays in the life of a child. Due to other circumstances, an attempt to reach Human Resources revealed that the one person lives in a different country and carries out their job remotely. By nature of what that job entails...living in another country means much is missed in the oversight and accountability of personnel. There are many others working here that we are unaware of their care for clients. So that has to be considered when help is sought.

I came to this practice specifically seeking integrated therapy and medication management, which…read moretheir website and scheduler confirmed was available -- and that Asia handled both. My intake paperwork reflected that. During the assessment, I was asked to revisit past traumas and go through my full medication history in detail. At the end, I was told therapy is not regularly offered, and despite my history showing that an entire class of antidepressants had not worked for me, Asia said she would prescribe within that same class because "she didn't know me." No prior medical records were requested. The GeneSight test advertised on their site was never mentioned or offered. Instead, I was sent home with a self-administered ADHD assessment to diagnose myself. Had I known therapy wasn't available, I would have canceled before the appointment -- not after reliving my trauma. I completed the take-home test and returned it as requested, then canceled my follow-up because I no longer felt safe or respected in this care relationship. Asia followed up about the cancellation, so I asked about my results. She said she could still provide them -- but six days later, after I followed up on June 8th, I was told she'd send them "when she got around to it." Those results were already part of a scheduled appointment I paid for. Withholding them after I canceled felt retaliatory and like a money grab. This experience made an already difficult process feel more discouraging and retraumatizing. Advocate for yourself early -- you don't have to wait to trust your instincts about your care.

The counselors at Hope Evergreen really go beyond the basic and try to find the best way to communicate and connect with someone where they are and what they're experiencing, and that's rare. When you have a counselor who is striving to treat you as an individual, it makes such a difference in working out your issues. I can't recommend Hope Evergreen enough.
