They don't return calls, they hang up on you and they take longs to give you appointment. My client has to switch doctor.

Been with dr. O for over 25 years he's the best very professional and understanding never had any issues with him nor his team

The doctor is good. However, a 1 star rating is way to high for his staff. These girls do not know anything and are as dumb as it gets. I am leaving this doctor because I do not have the time to sit on the phone and call the insurance company for them. And if you need to see a specialist - forget it. It took them 2 months before I had to call them back and remind them that I still need specialist. They told me I don't have insurance, when infact I have the best insurance money can buy. read more

Nearly impossible to talk to anyone over the phone. Sent my daughters to get bloodwork and never set up a follow up appointment or answered when I called trying to inquire about the results. I ended up switching my daughter's doctor. read more

Dr. Oliveira is an excellent doctor. His staff sucks!!! There is a wall his staff has created that separates the doctor from his patients. The staff has a bad attitude and acts as though they don't work for you, the patient or the doctor and you are at their mercy. Presently I am considering finding a new doctor. read more

I called this office today the receptionist said she have the Dr sin a RX that is in need and I have a time limit .. This is ridiculous I have called back several times and now the phone just goes to a answer machine and it's still a hr before closing time there .. Worst cs experience with staff hope changes soon place is convenient because of its location but definately needs attention

This place is a joke. The tech/receptionist (Dana Point location) is an airhead - never returns phone calls and has horrible customer service skills. Dr. Oliveira on the other hand is friendly but doesn't follow through with anything. I've been to the office 3 times and all 3 times (sat in the waiting room for an hour each time), I wasted my time. I waited weeks for him to fill out pre- authorization forms for my insurance to approve a medication I needed. He never did. I'm so disappointed they could care less about patients. read more

Doctor Oliveira is UNETHICAL!! He is NOT trustworthy, honest and lacking in integrity. For example: Doctor Oliveira is my son (20 years old), primary care doctor who he has seen previously. I brought my son in to see him last week because he is going back to college in NY in a few weeks. He plays NCAA soccer. Doctor Oliveira is treating him and has written prescriptions meds for my son's ADHD in the past. During our appointment Doctor Oliveira promised us a letter from him (for his college for file with the NCAA) identifying my son as his patient, his medical issue, meds he is on and that he checked out okay from his medical evaluation. This is a mandatory requirement to play college soccer. As of today, no letter as he promised? I have called his Dana Point office and talked to members of his staff (Anna & Eric) numerous times, they tell me he is on vacation? Eric goes on to say, he speaks to the doctor every day and will mention it to him. As other reviews on this site have correctly identified, the STAFF are incompetent and can not provide you with any information only saying "Doctor Oliveira is on vacation". Your primary care doctor see's my son over a week ago, does a full check up, promises you the letter and now he is on Vacation? In addition, during the doctors appointment Doctor Oliveira says that he can't write the prescription that he wrote in April for my son's condition because of new laws? We did the research and talked to our other son's nero-doctor who is treating him for the same issues and that is a BIG FAT Lie there are NO new laws for the specific stimulant medication. To make this worse, Doctor Oliveira will NOT send the medical letter required by the NCAA for my son to play college soccer after talking with his staff over 10 times in the last week? Wow!!!! These facts are why HE is not trustworthy, honest and lacking big time with professional integrity. You better think twice about having Doctor Oliveira as your primary care doctor? No more for us, we've learned our lesson about unethical doctors!!!!! read more

Today I came in for a walk in and I don't understand why they have this option if they are not going to accommodate everyone. I was here at 0730 and they open at 0900. They only took 2 walk Ins. I am not sure how he is as a doctor, but i absolutely HATE making appointment here. I have called on several different occasion to make appointment and to return their phone calls and no one EVER picks up the phone despite its BUSINESS HOURS or return my phone calls or voice message. this is probably not the doctors job, but please get your staff together. Its very frustrating as many people are busy during the day qnd pull out their time to make an appointment only to not receive a response from the office. read more

Small office but the ladies that work here have gone above and beyond to help me on several occasions and Dr.Oliveira is super cool! He isn't some typical pill-pusher of a doctor and doesn't make me feel bad for being a naturalist. For real, this guy is an awesome doctor! I have to say I had a very bad experience with Dr. Oliveria's staff, repeatedly. It took me over two months to get an appointment with him and he did seem a genuinely caring Doctor. However his staff lost my file and could not get me appointments when I needed one to renew prescriptions. When I came into the office because the phone would never be answered I was told Dr. Oliveira was off after 12:00. No wonder it took me so long to get an appointment with him if he's only in for two hours. I finally quit going when I accidentally lost my prescription and the staff couldn't get a hold of him to write me a new prescription. My medication was for something that made my blood pressure skyrocket and I had already been off of it for two days. They told me to go to the emergency room. I work at a hospital, I shouldn't have to go to the emergency room to get a prescription! After I calmly and smoothly told her she had better get a hold of the doctor and get my prescription filled they finally got back to me. The staff does not care about new clients. They obviously can't handle the workload they have. I do not suggest trying to get an appointment there. read more

My entire family (including my 3 kids and father in law) go to Dr. Oliveira and we absolutely ADORE him. He listens and genuinely cares for his patients. He is open minded, which is something we very much appreciate these days, and takes his time addressing our health concerns. We have been thru several Dr.'s in an attempt to find the right one and he is it. We feel extremely blessed to have found him. Also, his staff has always been so helpful, very kind and courteous. Dr. Thomas Oliveira gets a full 5 Star Plus rating as an exceptionally fine and caring doctor, so it makes my head spin wondering how his Dana Point office staff can set the highest mark I've ever experienced for incompetency. A nightmare experience from beginning to end.. whether no response to urgent calls (including from other medical facilities) documents not transmitted, paper work lost, insurance misfiled, office closed during business hours.. it just goes on and on. The best irony of all is of course, instead of an apology, getting nothing in return but rude, truly adolescent excuses, and arrogant, hair flipping, denials of responsibility.
