I'm so glad I found this Doc he was so great with me and made me feel as if I had been going to him for year's. He was genuinely concerned with my health and cared enough to ask me questions that I had never been asked by any other doctor on an annual visit. I didn't even have to ask for all the tests I wanted him to run on me because he took it upon himself to tell me that he thought it would be a good idea to run them. I'm impressed!! Dr Robert Peterson is a wonderful physician, however he sold his practice to the absolute worst medical group imaginable, still under the name Murrieta Family Medicine . I came to this office for almost 5 years. I never actually met Dr. Peterson I was only ever seen by the practitioners. The one I liked left and after that It wasn't the same. I only went here because that is who my provider set me up with. Reviews did not lie, my first visit was okay. But the second one went horribly. I was first told they could not do the immunizations on the same day as the physicals for my kids. Then that I could just walk in for the immunizations, then to make an appointment. So I made the appointment, but when I went in I was told no doctors were in and who I was there to see. I told them I had an appointment for immunizations. The receptionist that made my appointment 2 days before told me I had no appointment( get everything in writing), no idea how that happened since she was the one that made the appointment for me. They also don't have enough stock on immunizations...WHAT THAT IS CRAZY for being a Physicians's place. I won't go back for sure and I will contact my insurance. read more

There is so much to say about this doctors office. Dr. Peterson and P.A. Zulema Carillo are great. I can never get in to see Dr. Peterson he only works a few days a week in the morning, working primarily in hospice care as I was told. We have had so many issues with getting labs being sent, friendliness and helpfulness from main receptionist who never identified herself unless asked. I thought it was just me but our health insurance had issues dealing with office and so did another clinic requesting items from them. We went back and forth 4 times for labs they said were sent and never were. The receptionist is rude and short with you on the phone. It's been one thing after another since they have been out primary we are planning on switching if doesn't improve. I feel office staff is ruining the reputation of the doctors by not being professional. You dont feel welcomed or that they care about you when you go in or call. It's really too bad!! read more

Peterson is great and very personable but doesn't run a full work week schedule. He's on his way out to retirement and a younger, female Dr. is taking over. He told me her medical degree is from Mexico. Hmmmm. I have always enjoyed him but the office staff has fouled up too many prescription orders and I'm tired of holding their hands to get things done (e.g., follow-up calls, etc.). Doctor walked in, abruptly said there was no cure for a skin condition and could offer no help other than to refer me to a dermatologist. Was a real quick interaction and was kind of shocked that I just paid a co-pay for two minutes of the doctors time for almost nothing. How good a doctor's office is depends on a lot of factors. Not least of these is the office staff. I would recommend finding another doctor's office as the staff here finds patient pain and frustration with the offices' inability to sign an authorization within a normal timeframe extremely entertaining. Had to find a new physician upon moving up to the area. Found Dr. Peterson through recommendations, and was glad I did. He was able to diagnose what was going on with my legs, send me to testing covered by my insurance, and now my legs are pain free. Genuinely warm and caring doctor. read more

Dr. Peterson's office is AWESOME! Everyone there is so helpful and I have been going there for almost 3 years. Michelle Broad is GREAT-- she listens to your needs, and is very caring. I have always been able to make a same day appointment or next day appt. ALMOST every time. Dr. Peterson is a great Primary Care physician, and I personally would not want to go to any other Dr, in the area. He is a very attentive doctor and cares about his patients. When you have an issue, and need to get it resolved..Dr. Peterson and his staff are great. I have been able to get the referrals I needed and quickly. I needed blood work and testing done, and they were on top of it! I am a Breast Cancer survivor so I have many needs, and I cannot say enough about Dr. Peterson and his staff! read more

I had the best experience at Dr. Peterson's office. The PA and her nurse were so great and amazing. Their staff is so nice and welcoming and helpful. I received my results and referrals in a timely manner, knowing that I have an HMO insurance I realized that other offices have taken up to weeks to get my referral submitted and the referral coordinator has gotten it to me within the week. They listen to me and answered all my questions I had thoroughly. Zulema and her nurse are so great and always smiling which puts me in a great mood. I highly recommend this office!!!! read more

I have been a patient at this practice for over 6 years. Both Dr. Peterson and the PA Zulema as well as their nurses are beyond helpful,caring and always so kind. Both practitioners take their time and address all your issues. While there may sometimes be a wait, i dont mind waiting due to being very well cared for. I have always received my referrals within 3-4 days as i am aware i have an HMO and most offices drop the ball and take weeks. The front office staff is very welcoming and the referral coordinator always goes the extra mile. Dr. Peterson is very reasonable with his care and i understand not everything can be handled by a family practitioner. Dr. Peterson's nurse is so helpful and will always take the time to address my concerns. She stays on top of everything and is so assertive. I could not ask for a better family doctor. read more

Do yourself a favor and look for another Dr. Wait times usually run about 1 hour in the waiting room. Dr Peterson does not examine you but spends most of his time entering information on his laptop!! One time, after waiting for more the 1hour to be seen, Dr Peterson comes into the room announces that he thought I had had a stroke or maybe I had MS and then he wanted to rush out of the room because he said he had 2 other patients waiting! I almost became paralyzed while the front desk staff were refusing to put in a Stat request for authorization for me to see a neurologist on an urgent basis. These girls were arguing, telling me that my condition was not that serious!! Well, I ended up being hospitalized for 3 weeks!! I would not recommend this Dr to anyone. read more

I have been going to this practice for 3 years. I was very happy with the PA I am currently seeing, I mean was seeing. The office help is not very helpful. I was told I needed some blood work done. They referred me to Quest Diagnostics. They told me no appointment needed. OK. So I show up at this Lab with no appointment and the wait time is over 2 hours. But they do take appointments. So, I left and went online to make an appointment. This is a fasting blood test, and the earliest "Appointment " was 2:30pm. That's 2 weeks out also. So I found another Lab in town called LabCorp. I made an appointment for the following day at 8:30am. Much better. I called the office and asked if they could fax over the doctors(PA's) orders over to the new lab. No problem they said. Because I had problems with this office group before, I called again after work. They told me it was faxed over. I show up at LabCorp at the scheduled appointment time. They have no record of a doctor's order being fax'd. I called the office and the rude office manager said she didn't know. She also told me my insurance wouldn't cover a lab test done by LabCorp. WOW! Would have been nice to know the day before. So now I have 2 wasted trips under my belt. I guess my time is not as important as theirs. I should have read the Yelp reviews before ever thinking this was the right doctor's office for me or anyone else. I'll know better in the future. read more

Arbitrarily selected Dr. Peterson when I first moved to the area, thought I liked him fine until I scheduled an appointment because of what appeared to be chronic edema in my legs. Was referred to cardiologist, and after battery of (probably unnecessary) testing, was given clean bill of health. Went back to Peterson for edema again, saw his PA and, as I'm on a fixed income, was told, "Join WeightWatchers, it's free." Fast forward about a year and after consulting with another physician, I am about to have a 14-inch-wide (don't know about mass yet) cyst removed from my left ovary that took over my entire abdomen, so much so that the edema fluid has started to leak out of the pores in my abdomen. The fluid leakage, which I thought was just sweat, was possibly causing the itching I wanted to talk to Dr. Peterson about along with the edema but was told they could "only address one problem at a time". All this was diagnosed thru TESTING (blood, ultrasound, MRI) Dr. Peterson's office never bothered to even consider. None of the tests I've had since - EKG, x-ray, MRI, ultrasound, etc. - has indicated any problems with my heart for which I was referred to the cardiologist by Dr. Peterson. AND, WeightWatchers is NOT free. Periodically you can JOIN for free, but you cannot use the program for free, and if you can't use the program without paying for it, what's the point of joining? Incidentally, my husband decided to try Dr. Peterson as his PTP after incidents with colon cancer (surgery, now cancer-free) in 2010, congestive heart failure and afib for which he had a defibrillator installed. Dr. Peterson told him he could go off his Warfarin and just use plain aspirin, a decision which could have killed him and ended up almost hospitalized again. Took almost a year to get his medication dosages adjusted properly. read more

If I had the option of choosing 0 stars I absolutely would. The nurses and doctors here are wonderful and provide the best for their patients. However the front desk staff RUINS this entire practice. They are the most unorganized, forgetful, and above all rudest staff I have ever encountered. Every time (without fail) that I call in to request a refill for my prescription, I am told it will be taken care of within 48 hours. 2 days later when I am all out of my medication and I go to pick up my new one I am always told "no one put in your request" or "You are supposed to call in 2 days in advance, sorry" every single time. I do my part by giving them 48 hours, and the front desk staff blames ME rather than looking to fix the problem within. Today, when I called to see if my prescription was ready, I was told "You are supposed to call it in 2 days in advance" I informed them that I very well did so and then, another woman (without introducing herself) picks up the phone and says "I know you 'said' you called it in, but we really need for you to give us the 48 hour advance notice. From here on out you're going to need to ask to speak with our manager for your refills" As if I were a toddler. A practice as such should have a grip on their staff to the point in which I don't have to go through these extended measures just to pick up a prescription. For this reason I will be leaving this office after years, and finally switching to a better one that actually cares about their patients and does not blame their patients for their screw ups. It was great when Michelle Broad was there but not any more. The front staff are incredibly rude and never return your phone calls. If you left it up to them you just might die before you get any help. While trying to figure out what was causing severe pain in my lower right side I was sent for an MRI. They thought it was kidney stones. When that was ruled out I tried to make another appointment because something was definitely wrong. I scheduled an appointment and then was called back and told that there really wasn't anything else they could do for me and to not bother coming in. Who does something like that? Seriously?!! Who was I supposed to go to for help? I finally was able to see a kidney specialist that read my MRI reports and told me what they said and that I needed to see a neurosurgeon. I really wonder why Dr. Peterson could not have read that same report and told me that information earlier so that could have helped me to not have wasted 4 more weeks trying to get in to the right type of doctor, not to mention the pain I was suffering all that wasted time! read more

I've been going to Murrieta Family Medicine for a few years now. Mainly for annual check ups and to get a couple of prescriptions refilled. Always saw the nurse practitioner (Michelle Broad) as I've been fortunate to not have any real medical issues other than migraines that haven't affected me in almost 2 years. That was until I was called in after some blood work indicating that my Thyroid wasn't working. Michelle prescribed medication and away I went. About a week into the medication I started to have sever migraines that would not disappear. I called and left a message to have Michelle call me back. 5 days later I received a phone call for the front desk w/ a message to see a specialist, that this isn't normal. So nice of Michelle to have the front desk call me back...5 days later! Sure, she wasn't suffering. Not only that, but I had questions after doing research online that obviously the front desk wasn't capable of handling. I was so upset with the lack of professionalism, care and competency of Michelle (Migraines are listed as a side effect, although the message she wanted delivered was to go to see a specialist as this wasn't normal) that I requested Dr. Peterson to call me back. Although I've never met with Dr. Peterson, if his work is anything like his follow up, I'll pass on meeting the man. It's been over a week and still haven't heard anything back.
