Thus, when I discovered that R.M.Williams had a store in New York I was very excited. I finally made it down to their Spring Street outpost earlier this month. Corey was very helpful to me. He brought pretty much every brown boot they had in my size. I ended up with the Erica (women's) in tan but I was close to getting the Craftsman (unisex). A note on sizing: I typically wear a 6.5 (US) or 37 (EU) in most shoes. Corey let me know my current boots (Comfort Turnout, which are unisex) are 6 (US) / 37 (EU). I got the Erica boots in the same size but their women's shoes are a slightly narrower fit. Corey also said something that I agree with: the worst day for a pair of boots is the first day you wear them. Still, they looked (and felt) gorgeous in the store and I'm very much looking forward to breaking them in.

Our kids both have probation, and Jenny and Robbie did an outstanding job showing us the various shoe options they would be good for the kids. The prices are reasonable considering they have their own store brand manufactured for them. The fact that the shoes are "custom" and help straighten out a manner in which one walks is great. I'd hoped that Moulded Shoe would become a regular source of shoes for me, but not only won't I ever go back but I feel that it's my duty to warn others to avoid it. Before going there, I looked at the website to identify shoes that could work. After explaining my issues, I asked the salesman for a specific shoe. It fit well in the front, but you could see the lining on the inside of the heel because it was too big. I asked the salesman - the shorter of the 2 men working there - what could be done and he said, "Nothing." I thought it strange to work in a store like that and not know how to make shoes fit better. I took a photo of the box to make sure that I knew the shoe and the size so that I could ask my cobbler what could be done. The salesman then said he had other ideas and he brought a few pairs of shoes by a different company, one I hadn't identified since their shoes were obviously too narrow for me. To show my good attitude, I tried them on. I couldn't even get my foot into one pair, but after trying each pair, the salesman announced, "Too big!" He then suggested shoes with a strap, and although I told him that only shoes I could tie using heel lock lacing would hold my foot back, I tried on a couple he suggested, which did not work. I then asked for an athletic shoe that I had seen online and he brought it to me, but it was too long. I figured that the shoe ran big and asked to try the shoe in a half size smaller. My salesman was also helping a man, so I waited patiently. After a fairly long time, the salesman came back to me and said that he didn't have the smaller size. Since he didn't say that he could order it, I took a photo of the box in case I could find it online. He then told me he wouldn't help me, that I wasn't going to buy anything and that he had offered many suggestions and I didn't accept any of them. He was so nasty that I left the store, but waited outside for my husband to meet me. After some time, the salesman motioned for me to come back and told me that he had the smaller size, admitting he had lied. I don't know if he realized that he had acted inappropriately or if the man he was helping told him that his actions were uncalled for, but I refused to come back because I'm not buying shoes from someone who is not only rude, but doesn't know much about shoes.
