Fleet Feet Upper East Side is my annual go to shoe store for my workout shoes. Amaury was so excellent listening to my activities walking and suggesting I stay with the shoe brand and style that is currently working out well for me. He was attentive, professional and I was out of there in no time. I find Fleet Feet to be no pressure shopping and decision making. Amaury also told me they donate or recycle old shoes. I'm very very happy to have that information. I'll definitely bring my old shoes back here. If you liked shopping at Jack Rabbit you will enjoy shopping at Fleet Feet. They have a rewards program too but I don't buy that many shoes! I am wondering about a commuter tax added to my purchase. I'm definitely going to ask them about that! I like this location better than Columbus circle flagship because it's more intimate. Brian was a great, I received a high tech foot analysis and found out I was wearing the wrong size shoe then purchased my Brooks. One of the only running based store on the upper east side. This store has all you need if you are a runner/ walker/ jogger. From apparel to sneakers to accessories and nutrition. They used to have a treadmill where you can test out your sneakers. They may still have it but I do not think so. They seem well stocked and always have plenty of product out. It is very hit or miss with the staff that work here though. I have been coming here for years and I find that most of the staff that has helped me especially with sneakers have really not been helpful or that nice. I was in the store a few days ago and had a lovely salesperson help me. She actually took her time with me and suggested the right kind of running shoes. She was very nice too. I told her how I have not had great help at this location and she was very apologetic. I want to give a shout out to Eva. I'm not a runner, but hope to be (2025 Resolutions!!) and wanted to get some new running shoes. I stopped by on a random Sunday after hearing great reviews from some friends about their experience and their satisfaction with their running shoes. I was put on a waitlist for the "Scan", and waited no more than 10 minutes. As part of the test, I stood on the platform barefoot and then did a walking test across a flat runway. Then the associate reviewed the scan results to me, which was pretty helpful, and brought about 3 pairs of shoes initially for me to try based on my scan. I wasn't a big fan of the initial 3 pairs of shoes, but the associate brought more and more shoes; I tried ~7 different pairs of shoes, and the associate was very patient and kept asking questions to gauge what fit my tastes better throughout. My scan + fitting was (rough estimate here) 45 minutes! I really appreciated the associate's patience and great customer service in helping me find a pair of shoes. She also reassured me there is no pressure to buy today if I wasn't finding the perfect shoe. However I did find a great shoe and decided to buy the pair! Would definitely recommend Fleet Feet to those looking to get new running shoes and don't know where to begin! Loved this store! I had been injuring my achilles myself after starting to run again, and I really wanted a solid pair of running shoes. It's pretty overwhelming trying to navigate the different choices, though, so I stopped by Fleet Feet to see if I could get measured / do a gait test to get shoes that were best for me. I called ahead and the store said they were available for measurements on a Sunday afternoon. When I arrived, I filled out a brief survey of my running/walking goals and was instructed to step onto a scale that measured foot size, arch height, feet width, etc and then recommended shoes best conformed for your feet. The scan itself only took a few minutes, was completely free, and they send you a personalized report over email after. The service was also extremely good, and the person helping me was kind and friendly and wasn't trying to upsell me on anything that I didn't need (which I was worried about after the free foot scan). My only complaint about this location was that they didn't have any of the shoes I was recommended in my size (6.5), so I wasn't able to try it on in stores, much less the colors that I wanted. I took a bit of a gamble and got the size I was measured for online instead of in person after trying it on. I've been super happy with the shoes and fit so far! This company also had a very generous return policy so I felt way more comfortable purchasing online. read more

I have bought my sneakers at the UES Fleet Feet store for the past nine years, and I have always been very happy with the service, but on my last visit, Venkat was my salesperson. I had such a great time here thanks to the staff, and special shoutout to Dayquan for being so patient and thoughtful throughout the whole fitting! If you are tired of guessing your shoe size or the right shoe for your fitness goals and for your feet, then it's definitely worth getting your feet fitted here! For the feet anaylsis, they had this comprehensive scanner where you step on barefoot, which is sanitized for each use and each person. The staff will direct you on what to do, where to walk and place your feet and it will scan your feet and you can get the results emailed! Dayquan showed me all the different parts of my feet, foot placement, landing, arch height and type, etc. It was all really helpful in deciding which shoe to get. After the anaylsis, Dayquan brought me 3 different shoes based on the results of my analysis. He was so kind and patient and explained everything to me since I know pretty much nothig about running. From comfort, sizing, arch support, and insoles, he supported me and my partner into finding the right shoe for us. He never pressured us to buy a shoe there and encouraged us to search for similar ones if we couldn't find ones that day. However, we both were able to find shoes that finally felt great and it was definitely worth the investment! Do yourself a favor and treat your feet better by getting them fitted here! My first time coming here in hopes to find running shoes. There were maybe 6-7 people in the store and a few employees helping shoppers. I sat down waiting for more than a half hour. Not a single person acknowledged me. Something as simple as "I'll be right with you" would have been appropriate. They seem to take an hour plus with each client and completely ignore anyone else who comes in. I went to the register to ask if there was a "sign up" sheet to get any assistance and she said "no you just wait." Wow. Shocked that there is zero concern for others in the store. Plan on spending 3-5 hours here if you want any kind of attention from sales people. They are lazier focused on only person they are helping and no one else seems to matter. I rarely visit JackRabbit at this location, but I had a pair of running shoes on hold here so I visited recently. I came in to check out the shoes on hold, but asked the staff if I could try on some other shoes with similar profile as the original pair I was going for. The female staff seemed a bit unfriendly at first but turned out to be very helpful. She checked if the space in the toe box is appropriate and suggested I size up. She also brought out another pair that ended up being more comfortable than the one I was trying to buy initially. I also enjoyed exchanging thoughts on both of our experiences in running. We had a phenomenal experience today first working with G, then with Sarah in the mid-town NYC store. I brought my friend there to get the best advice for her running shoe, sock and bra fitting for a first time marathoner. They didn't disappoint. They sized up both feet, checked her arch, had her run on the tread in different shoes, analyzed her gait and gave her feedback - ultimately matching her up with the best of what she needed. I walked in around noon, and I was able to get help instantly. This place is great! I had a young lady with straight hair helped me. The store has a machine that takes the contour of your foot and notes the instep and the dimensions. It helped measured my feet and height & width. I needed help finding the type of shoe would be best for dancing. She patiently had me try on four pairs of different brands before deciding. I liked that an easy going no pressure vibe. I was happy with the blue sneakers with arch support. They feel amazing especially after the heel pain after the Halloween party heels. I was looking for a comfortable running sneaker (though I would use it for walking). I have knee pain sometimes when I walk with shoes that have no support; aka flats. Mike was super helpful! He was very knowledgeable of all the sneakers and was able to look at the shoes I was wear and tell me what kind of walker I was based on the way the heels of my shoes were being worn down. Mike took his time to explain all the top 3 bestseller sneakers and explained thoroughly why they were the top 3. I've been to the store on 3rd Avenue a few times and each time, the sales people are not overly helpful. About a week ago, I stopped in for some socks. Nobody offered to help me. The shoe sales people were just complaining to each other about something and did not even acknowledge me. I went to the register to ring up my purchase and the woman at the register was so nasty. I felt that she was doing me the favor by ringing me up. Two weeks later, I called the store to see if they still had the socks in stock and to ask them if they could hold them for me until the afternoon. Someone picked up the phone and asked me to hold. I was on hold more than 5 minutes. I hung up and called back, someone picked up and let it go straight to hold. I called back again and they just let it ring straight away to voice mail. They are the most unhelpful staff. I will not go patronize the store on the upper east side. Customer service is everything in retail today, either offer good customer service or you'll go out of business. I decided to call the Upper West Side store to see if they had the socks in stock. Someone immediately picked up the phone and they were so nice. They told me they had the socks in stock and could hold them until I made it to the store. read more

My running shoes were pretty beaten up. They had seen lots of miles outdoors during my gym's closure due to COVID-19. JackRabbit had recently reopened, so I gave this store a try for the first time today. I had walked by several times but had never been in, and it was time to replace my older shoes with something that would have more support. The staff member who assisted me was knowledgeable and helpful. She found me a few pairs to try, one of which I really liked. They listened to what I needed but did not try to sell me any "extras." I went in on a jam packed Sunday to get running shoes for myself, and for my fiancé. I was told they didn't have the color of mens shoes I was looking for. So nbd, went home and ordered online...but curious the correct color was available for curbside pickup at this location? I received a phone call the next day saying that curbside pickup was not available after all, but I could pick up in-store. Wasn't sure what that meant. Apparently, that means the feet fleet system is broken - and you have to call yourself between 9-5 to cancel. The kicker is that they actually HAVE the shoes, but I would have to complete a separate purchase in-store and also still call to cancel the original order. I asked if it could be escalated to a manger, which apparently it could not. TL;DR I've never seen a store make you work harder to spend money. Try Zappos. read more

I pass by here all the time, and I've purchased a running belt here before. I remember the service being really great. They were helpful without being clingy. Recently, I wanted to try out some new running shoes so I decided to check if they had them in stock. Shoutout to G for picking up the phone at 7:25pm and diligently looking through their inventory for the exactly shoe and size I wanted to try on. He was informative and made sure to let me know that they'd be closing at 8pm. I sprinted to the store to make sure I got there on time. All the sales reps were super attentive without being hover-y, which I liked. I like my space to browse! They were super patient when I needed to try on several sizes. Which seemed off to me... I went into Jack Rabbit tonight, and spoke to Michael, who fitted me and immediately said what size do you normally wear? I told him, and he told me I needed a half size bigger... he brought out my favorite shoe in a half size up, had me run on the treadmill, and it felt like the problem was finally solved. Malik helped me tremendously, knowing I needed a sneaker that would even the heal/ball of my foot and provide enough stability to prevent pronating. This store has a large selection of performance and daily walking sneakers (and sandals). They also have a treadmill for a real trial. They have a small selection of apparel, but a lot of fitness accessories. I ended up with the most comfortable sneaker ever! My yelp check-in saved me 10% as well. I was very disappointed. I took a long walk into the City, wearing my Hokas. I was hoping to check out the other Hoka Bondi's. The email associate has 2 , customers & was answering their questions, as i patiently waited to hourly be asked if I could be helped. I picked up & inspected several pairs of sneakers, & stood for 10 to 15 minutes. No "I'll be right with you", no acknowledgement by anyone when i walked through the door. I walked towards the front & looked at the display of new arrivals, right across from the cashier. Still nothing. I walked back to the back of the store, first to the men's sneakers then to women's The store wasn't crowded, this was yesterday, Labor Day. I quietly walked out, never to return again. Long version: Was honestly very skeptical before coming in (worried they would be very overpriced etc), but after enough marathon running buddies swore by them, I figured I'd give it a shot. I came into jackrabbit today to find out my shoe size since I have trouble finding shoes that fit me due to my wide feet. Nova was able to assist me tremendously. After doing the 3D scan of my foot, he was able to suggest 3 different brands (Brooks, Hoka and New balance). First we tried on normal width (D) to see how my foot felt. Right away it was too tight so he got me the wide (2E) for each of the brands above. I tried them all on and found out that the New balance was the best fit for my me. Absolutely amazing, personalized experience. The store was pretty busy when we first arrived around 11am. There were two employees working at the time, Laray and Ariel. Although they were both attending customers, we were quickly greeted and assisted. They both multi-tasked with the customers and I never felt like I didn't have the help I came for (other staff members did show up later but the two ladies did amazing in their own). Laray was the one primarily assisting us and Ariel answered some questions that she overheard us asking amongst each other while Laray was getting shoes to try on for us. We had the whole experience with shoe sizing, treadmill test and arch fitting. We came for one pair of shoes for me but ended up getting a pair for my husband as well along with a bunch of merch like running shorts, shirts, hats and a workout duffel bag. Kaitlyn & Zoe helped my girlfriend look for a good shoe for walking. Kaitlyn helped her figure out the best style & size in the Hoka (Gaviota) that was most comfortable even though this location didn't have it. But provided the necessary information to an online check since the computer system was down that day. While I waited Zoe helped me find a a shoe I found to be comfortable. I wasn't in the market for shoes that day but I will be sure to purchase the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 soon. read more

Very good shoe store with knowledgeable staff and some additional athletic outwear and accessories. I came for a free group run and yoga session on World Running Day. I accidentally came early, so I took a long look around the store. Clothing are priced in the medium range (sports bras for $25-30, for example) and there's a large wall of healthy and psuedo-healthy drinks/snacks for the average athlete. The event was great and it was nice to run in a group for once. Yoga was refreshing and we were also gifted free week passes to Yogaworks, which is awesome! (I think that's usually a giveaway that's done though.) Lindsay and Kent(?) were great! I asked for some specific shoes which they did not have (not surprising as they are built for OCRs and aren't often in stores) and also for any low drop shoes with a wider toe box. While they didn't have any in my size (5-5.5), I did get several recommendations from the employee. [if you're interested he recommended Brooks Ghost 10, Kimvara Saucony 9, and the Altra Escalante from their wall]. I did some more research and learned that while the Brooks Ghost didn't fit well (tried at Super Runners), the Altra shoes seem like a good fit. Unfortunately, many of these shoe companies don't actually sell their 5.5 sized shoes in ANY store, including but not limited to Jackrabbits. That's not Jackrabbit's fault and I'm glad to have been pointed in the right direction by the employee! PROS: Typical running shoe prices. Lots of knowledgeable and friendly staff. Free group runs and events. Lockers available for the events. Free water station! CONS: It's a tad expensive for the non-shoe items (tape, rollers, drinkware). read more
