I read other reviews below. It is disappointing and scary that a salon this expensive allows stylist to be called color experts when they have several complaints about them in the reviews. How would you as an owner appreciate spending almost $1000 on your hair, being forced to go back to the salon almost 4 times because" your color expert" can't get you the color you asked for, then over the next 3 months you lose ALL the hair your stylist lightened? How would YOU feel about that ? Be honest and dont use the customer service auto response "im sorry you felt you had a bad experience ". I didnt feel anything, it WAS an awfull thing to put trust in a stranger and then 50% of my hair break off. I am a corporate professional who now has to buy hair extensions that i shouldnt have to pay for because i didnt choose to have a mullet. What would you as the owner experiencing this want in return to even compensate partially for your awful experience, waste of time, waste of money and most importantly having lost 50% of YOUR hair? read more

I love everything about Oliver's The atmosphere is so relaxing and everyone is so helpful and and most of all I love how I feel after I have been in Jennifer Azar's care. 2nd UPDATE: The owner claimed she had a consultation with a "medical professional." Now, if all she asked them was a general question of, "Can someone have a reaction to bleach or dye?" Then of course the answer would be yes. But this was not a reaction. 1. It wouldn't only be on one side of my face and neck--unless bleach was left on the skin of my face and neck. If you leave bleach on someone's skin, yeah, they'll have a reaction... they're called burns. 2. I also don't know how many times I can say that I've had this exact service done many times before--with no reactions or bleach burns. Only at this salon. 3. It had nearly been a week now, and I still have a large red burn mark. The skin is very damaged. "Reactions" go away quickly--they don't leave SCARS. I was not evaluated by their "medical professional." A medical professional (and this is a broad term--do they mean a doctor? Or someone not really qualified to make a diagnosis, or a diagnosis in this field?) needs to see a patient in person to make a diagnosis. They need to know my medical history and if I've ever had any reactions in the past to bleach (the answer is no--and again, I've had this done before). The manager I spoke with never stated she consulted with anyone--she came to her own conclusion during the conversation. She was the one who said that, in her opinion, it's a reaction. As if she was a doctor! She then stated she spoke with the stylist--and stated she was on the stylist's side because "she knows her." Mind you, this manager was not there during the bleaching process, so has no idea whether bleach was left on my skin. Also, I was talked down to and was treated VERY rudely. Not even an apology by that second manager. Is that their idea of professionalism? Lastly, that manager specifically stated she would NOT give a refund. So the owner claiming they were not opposed to a refund is an outright lie trying to save face for those reading this. read more

I've been going to Oliver's for years. I needed a last minute color and cut so I was limited to who was available. I ended up with Devin. My entire appointment was all about HER. She talked about HER age, HER siblings, HER baby, HER husband, HER breast pump. She never asked anything about ME. Salons have always been a place for the client to unwind, be pampered and vent. A suggestion...when hiring a stylist/nail tech etc, teach them that the appointment is about the CLIENT. read more

I really strongly dislike leaving less-than-steller reviews. -deep breath- Here we go I'm a first time customer looking to trim/cut my long bob to it's original length. I just moved to the area and my last haircut was 1 year ago. It's suppose to be short in the back to the nape of my neck and drops in the front to my collarbone. Was greeted and directed to take a seat in the waiting area, which was very cute and comfortable. Then directed upstairs to wait for my stylist. While upstairs, I noticed was how busy this place is, chaotic but somehow it works. Downstairs, this place has manicure/pedicure service, hair removal, and upstairs was the hair salon. A lot of women and equipment up there, I'm somewhat surprised no one has tripped over any blow dryer wires. Anyways, met my stylist and showed her pictures of hairstyles on Pinterest (same photos I've showed in the past to my previous hair stylists). There were 8 stylists and 7 chairs upstairs so my stylist and I went downstairs to the one chair between a hallway to the bathroom and hair removal room. It had it's own hair washing station so I thought that was a creative use of space. My stylist is super sweet, we laughed, we talked about the awesome music that was playing, I really really like her. My cut was good, she did a great job with the length of the long-bob (or lob). Just a few things that happened that was too late to fix in my opinion or I didn't realize until the next day. She forgot which side my bands swept to so she cut it before I realized it was the wrong side. I told her and she tried to correct, but the length is lost so my bangs are now above my eyebrows. If I press my bangs down, they'll reach my eyebrows. I now also realize that I didn't tell her what length I wanted my bangs, she never asked either so I suppose that's my fault. For my angled lob, the front length should be pointed, but my left side is not pointed at all. It's very blunted. I'm not sure what happened there, but I somehow didn't catch it. It was probably sculpted too much and lost it's point. Also, I am super hesitant about feathering or thinning out my cut towards the bottom. My cut was thinned with strands as short as to my chin (when the length goes to my collarbone). Too late to say anything. T.T For the price you pay for a higher-end salon (vs. say supercuts), I was disappointed that I don't love my cut and that for the first few weeks, I need to figure out how to hide/tweek my bangs until they grow out. I've been going to Oliver's since 2004. I was happy to see they did some amazing updates to the Salon on my last visit. Feels really elegant and Zen. Both my wife and I have been seeing our stylists for years. We typically use the Spa facilities a couple times a year. As far as scheduling appointments I usually call a day or two in advance. Haven't had any problems. It is a very flexible Salon. One day I brought my daughter (7 at the time) to my appointment and they were able to her nails while I got my hair cut. She felt like a little princess. For the Lehigh Valley they are definitely worth considering if you are looking for a change or new to the area. read more

Just FYI, I have only experienced Oliver's massage services. I had a tension headache for about five days. I finally caved and made an appointment with Paula for an upper body massage. From the moment I met her, it was clear Paula cared about my pain. She listened to exactly what I was experiencing, and she then personalized the massage to really target the source of my headache. After the 30-minutes the headache was much better and by the next day it was gone! Bonus points for the piece of dark chocolate waiting for me after the massage! Highly recommend Paula! :) read more

I went to Oliver's for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the staff were. All very kind and humble and nothing pretentious about this place at all the service is top notch. I called a little after 10 am to find out if they had any openings and luckily, they did. I had a facial (it took an hour and was so relaxing), an express manicure (that also took an hour) and my husband had an extended massage (about 90 minutes). We were both very happy at how generous the staff were and the manicurist was kind enough to help carry my bag down from the second floor for me since my nails were still wet. I made an appointment for a pedicure at this salon based on the positive review. I agree, this is a well designed salon. The spa pedicure area was a step above anything I've seen. The windows are large making the salon light and airy. The service I received was good but at the high end of the price range. All services and prices are listed on Oliver's website. It's always stressful trying to find a new hair dresser for short hair. Jody is the best! She's been cutting my hair for the past 5 years and I have never had a complaint. Before I started seeing Jody, I shopped around and it was bad cut after bad cut after bad cut. I get so many compliments on my cut and my hair feels amazing. If you're looking for a short hair stylist go see Jody! :) I've also had manicure/pedicures here, eye brow waxes and massages and I have no complaints. I was so very excited to go to Oliver's as I had never been to a high end salon before. I arrived and everyone was very nice and friendly. Unfortunately that was the only positive thing I experienced. I was very clear about what I wanted and even brought photographs yet my hair turned out NOTHING like I asked for. Everyone that has seen my hair has been shocked at how far it is from what I had wanted. I realize everyone's hair is different and didn't expect an exact replica but for a high end salon I expected it to at least be close. I have attached a photograph of what i asked for vs what was done. However, it was snowing heavily and my hairdresser had another appointment so I didn't say anything and went to leave. As I went downstairs to pay I was suddenly told that my service would cost $350. I had gone in for a consultation two weeks before and was told the price would be $275. I specifically went to this salon because of the price I was given. I explained that this was not the price I was given at the consultation. The manager stated she was sorry and they must have forgotten to give me the price for the haircut at the consultation but there was nothing she could do. I stated it was their mistake and I won't pay an extra $75 for their mistake. They were so difficult and I had to stay an extra 20 minutes until finally they decided to give me the price I was given before my service! I would consider going back to discuss fixing my hair but they made me so uncomfortable with the whole price business I now feel like I can't. My one positive review is how clean the salon is, but the rest is unpleasant. First, my appointment was delayed by almost 20 minutes. I had to ask the receptionist if they had forgotten about me! They lack any kind of customer service, and the girls who worked the day I went we're counting down the minutes until they could go home. If the employees don't want to stay there, makes me wonder what client would want to stay. Second, when I was finally taken upstairs my stylist rushed me into a chair and I felt my requests weren't being heard. I brought pictures and asked for a pretty easy hairstyle, I was given a quote before she started any service so I wouldn't be surprised at the end. Third, My stylist did a less than ok job with my hair. She was busy talking to other clients, and when she finally got back to me she talked about how her assistants weren't doing their job. My relaxing day at the salon quickly became stressful. Fourth, On top of that, my hair looked NOTHING like the pictures I had. I'm not very picky about my hair to begin with, but the fact I left with hair that didn't even closely resemble my request was really upsetting. It was rushed, and what should've been a relaxing day for me was stressful. The quote I was originally given was also changed when I went downstairs instead of the stylist telling me!!! She said because I only wanted a trim to clean up the ends she wouldn't charge me, but I was charged an extra $40 for a haircut. I overpaid for a less than mediocre job and I won't be going back. read more

Hannah does a killer job every time I see her and I know whenever I leave I am going to feel fantastic! As for my nails, you must see Dawn! This was my 1st experience at Oliver's. My boyfriend, as a gift, booked me an 1hr massage and cut and color. I was so excited to finally get my hair colored the dark eggplant color I have been wanting. The salon is very clean and nice. They took me 1st to get my hair done which should not have been done first since during a massage they massage your scalp. But the stylist was apologetic and advised me they have had turn over and they shouldn't have booked me that way. I advised my stylist that I wanted dark eggplant and even showed a picture. Unfortunately that is not what I received. My hair was dyed my original brown color, nothing at all purple about it. If this color could not be achieved because of my base color or condition of my hair, that should have been discussed prior to the process. I would have gladly discussed other options. Also, they got color on the side of my face and couldn't get it off. The stylist said I'll just put your hair over that and wear it like this to cover it up for the next couple of days. Really?! I dyed my hair at home and never had that issue. My massage however by Janet was wonderful, I even fell asleep! So relaxing and she was very kind. I did tip Janet the masseuse, the hair stylist and the assistant as I know it's a hard job. I didn't want to make a scene and figured that wouldn't get me anywhere as what's done is done. I now have to wait and then find another salon to fulfill my request, or at least come up with something more dramatic than the mousey brown color I received here. It's embarrassing that I told everyone I was getting this done and my hair looks no different or anything like I had said I was having done. I'm extremely disappointed, as is my boyfriend, that he paid for me to have this wonderful experience and I didn't get what I asked for. I was on the verge of tears when I had to tell him how unhappy I was with the service. For the amount of money he paid I should have walked out of there feeling like a million bucks. Disappointed with my experience. My first appointment with stylist Carmen was good I cut my hair and did a subtle balayage. Everything went well so I scheduled another appointment to style my hair. The entire time she discussed my hair texture and made me very uncomfortable. At one point she described my hair as "this thing". Her exact words "You've been laying this thing down your whole life." She also criticized a client she had prior that week mentioning her ethnicity and hair texture. It was really disappointing, especially the fact that she is also a minority with curly hair. If you have curly/textured hair I would say skip this salon. She is good at what she does, but the way she made me feel was not pleasant. I hesitated leaving this review but I would never want someone else to feel the way I did. I'm a mother that rarely takes time for herself. This was supposed to be something my husband wanted to treat me to monthly, however after the unprofessionalism I encountered, I never went back again. read more

My first time at Oliver's was awesome. I saw Hannah for a cut and color and she did an amazing job! She listened to me and then delivered beautiful color and styled it super cute. She made me feel comfortable and consulted me every step of the way. Some stylists just automatically put on Hairspray (which I hate) and I was so glad that she assumed I didn't want it but asked anyway. The salon is super clear and beautiful. A year ago I went for monthly pedicure appointment and my usual technician was booked. They assured me I would like the new girl She was sweet but untrained. Didn't get massage feet/legs, hot towel was cold, polish didn't cover whole nails. Really unacceptable job. I didn't want to confront her or make a scene so paid and emailed Olivers from home of my complaints. They said they would train her and have me back in month or so, for free pedicure with her. Never heard from them. Don't want a free pedicure from her-- wanted at least parcel refund for services not delivered properly Liked my usual technician but have found a place for half the price with no attitude. I will never return there. Very unprofessional and the service was so bad there is no way others weren't given same service 1-25-17. Read Olivers comment today. They told me they would train her and call me to schedule when she was trained to schedule my free pedicure. They never called. Very false to claim I dropped the ball. I wouldn't have gone anyway but that was a false statement. I have copies of the emails also but you are not worth the bother read more

So I tried to book a spa package a week out. I was told that it wouldn't work but the receptionist was a temp and she would "leave a note" for the regular receptionist to see if it could work and they'd get back to me. Well, almost 5 days later I have heard nothing. If Oliver's can afford to be that pretentious and not organize an almost $400 appointment, I'm sure there are other Aveda salons in the area. I've been going to Oliver's since 2010. Very happy with the services received. Prices are a little more than other places but you get what you pay for. They are very flexible with their hours. You are able to make an appointment even when you call two days in advance. They offer water, tea and wine at every appointment. They also have a small kitchen that you may use if you are having a service that will take hours as I have done in the past. The atmosphere is very pleasant and clean. Can't believe there's only one review for this place! :) I was first introduced to Olivers by way of a gift certificate for a massage. I've been "hooked" ever since! I get to Oliver's several times a year for various services. The estheticians are top notch for waxing (underarm, bikini). I've also had great full and half body massages. My favorite treat however is the pedicure. Nearly a full hour of bliss while your feet enjoy a warm spa bath, massage, exfoliation, and moisturizing lotion - all with Aveda products. Finally, toes are polished with your choice of a variety of OPI colors. All the staff I've encountered at Oliver's were very professional and friendly (front desk included). read more

It took me a couple of years to find Peggy at Olivers Salon, am I glad I did! For the last 10+ years Peggy has been giving me great haircuts. I wear my hair short, sometimes super short, Peggy always gives me a great cut. In addition, she makes you feel really comfortable, it's a pleasure to spend time with her every few weeks! About 3 years ago I decided to stop having my hair colored (30 years of coloring!). Peg did a fabulous job with the transition! The salon itself is clean, everyone is friendly and scheduling is easy. I don't have mani/pedis too often but when I do I request Tia. She does a good job and is really sweet. read more

This is my second time and last visit to the salon. Diana cut my hair so badly. It is chopped up. I was leaving on vacation before my last appointment. I didn't even like it when I walked out the door. Even the receptionist couldn't say anything good about how my hair looked. I actually looked better before my haircut. I am in Ireland now and am embarrassed on what my hair looks like. Very disappointed and upset. We are all human and if you are having a bad day, you should not work with the public until you are in a good frame of mind. Oliver's also recommended this product which was extremely expensive. It is terrible and I can't even use it. When I do, it makes my hair very static and stiff as if I stuck my finger in a socket. And yes, I used it sparingly. Today was my first trip to Oliver's for a hair color repair.... I was referred by a friend.... First the colorist came in earlier than scheduled to get me in today instead of next week....that was awesome and Secondly my colorist was very attentive to my hair color and needs... she was super nice and knew her color and mixing !!!!! I would refer anyone to Olivers!!!!!!! All other staff was nice to me and welcoming... very clean and neat salon... I left the salon with confidence knowing my hair was repaired and healthy... I fully bleached my coal black hair to white blonde and now my hair is blonde but is a natural look with highlights...my hair feels healthy and new!!!! I'm returning in 5 weeks..my husband loves my new hair !!!!!! read more

I come to Oliver's Salon for Gayle S. the massage therapist!! I get an hour and a half massage almost every month and have gotten massages for 15 plus years throughout the Lehigh Valley. It took me a very long time to find someone that makes me feel very relaxed and comfortable every time I see her. I have tried other massage therapists in the past at many different places in the Lehigh Valley and have been more stressed out leaving after a massage then when I walked in for my massage. I have recommended Gayle to all my family and friends when they need a massage!! The hour and a half massage is the way to go!! read more

I wanted to book my wedding party (9 women total) at Oliver's because of the good word of mouth referrals. I was completely shocked with the lack of service and flat out rudeness of the employees. I was willing to bring in over $3000 (hair, nails, makeup, some spa services) in a matter of 2-3 hours for one morning. The prices are outrageous (I live in NYC and my amazing salon/spa is about 30% lower!) and the manager, Jane, was completely unprofessional. I was given misinformation and was also told that it's "too much work." Wow! When I was waiting for Jane and the receptionist to figure out pricing for the payments (since it's "not convenient" for them to have people pay individually), a stylist came up to me and told me to bring my own makeup and supplies for my wedding "in case you don't like what we have." I will NEVER return here nor will I refer anyone. read more

I had a great gel manicure and pedicure with Tia. She was very professional and very friendly. She made sure to address my needs such as making sure I had something to drink, a magazine, and that I knew how to work the massage chair. I asked her for nail polish color recommendations based on a specific outfit and I am really happy with the choices. I really enjoyed the essential oils, exfoliating, and cream. The whole experience made me feel very relaxed. This is not your average nail salon. It is more expensive, but also a much better experience and quality of manicure/pedicure, I had an excellent experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Tia for manis and pedis.
