I've been going to Olivia's for around 3 years now. Though it's run very much like an assembly line in a factory, I've pretty much always been happy with the outcome of my services, until yesterday. Leo is great and has been doing my nails for quite some time. I recently got my acrylics taken off and get just a single layer of bio gel on my natural nails with no color or manicure. When I went in a few weeks ago, I was charged $40 because what I get is very basic. When I went in yesterday, Leo wasn't available so Mya did my nails and was very sweet, but at the conclusion told me because I didn't get color my total was only $55. I was confused as I had just paid $40 a few weeks prior. I went to the front to pay and asked the guy at the front desk (who is always pushy and not the most welcoming) why I was being charged different prices in which he responded it's $62 always for bio gel with or without color. So now, no one is on the same page and I've been told 3 different prices. Annoyed is an understatement. On top of this, the workers sit in the booths while they have no clients with their shoes off and dirty feet propped up on the benches which is not only gross, but super unprofessional. It's a shame the place is tan this way, it's a huge turnoff. Especially being treated like you're in the wrong when none of them are on the same page. I've always loved Olivia's and have recommended it to countless friends and family. My entire family comes here regularly for nails, pedicures, and waxing (each time spending hundreds of dollars). We've remained loyal customers for years despite the front desk not always being the most accommodating or welcoming. The last time we came as a family of seven, I made appointments well in advance and specifically requested that we all be seated together. Unfortunately, that request wasn't honored. I was disappointed but chose to be understanding since I know they also accommodate walk-ins. Today, we returned with appointments for six people and again requested to sit together. They did their best to accommodate us, and everything was going smoothly. During our visit, my daughter (12 years old) decided to get a Gel-X fill and was moved from the pedicure area to the nail area. When I finished my pedicure, I walked over and asked the technician why she was getting a completely new set when she already had a full set on. The technician simply looked at me and didn't explain anything, so I didn't think much of it. When my daughter checked out, I noticed an additional $7 charge for nail removal. I questioned the charge and was told that the technician had asked my daughter if it was okay to remove her nails and apply a new set, and that she agreed. The problem is that my daughter is a child. She had no idea agreeing to that meant an additional charge, and I was never consulted even though I was the one paying for the service. When I questioned the fee, I was met with argumentative and dismissive responses instead of an effort to resolve the situation. It wasn't about the $7--it was about the principle. A simple conversation beforehand or waiving the fee after the misunderstanding would have gone a long way and likely kept a loyal customer. I've overlooked similar situations in the past because the technicians generally do great work, but this experience was the final straw. But Olivia's DID NOT disappoint. My hands were done by James and my toes by Tracy, both who are fabulous. I already made my appointment for my next visit. The lady who did my pedicure was very sweet & meticulous, however, she cut me! Twice! Once with cuticle nippers and I visibly flinched, she put alcohol and some other thing to stop the bleeding and both burnt really bad. Then after my nails were painted she went to file and literally filed INTO my small toe, it burnt so bad but I couldn't see any blood till after. I visited this nail salon last week and paid for a set of nails. Today, I had to come back because one of my nails cracked, so I requested a fix. Unfortunately, the guy at the front started blaming me and was very rude and unprofessional. I want to clarify that I wasn't asking for a free fix; I simply wanted the nail repaired. However, he made me wait for 30 minutes just to fix one nail, which was frustrating. I have been coming here every month and spending money on my nails and tips, and I expected better treatment. I came here randomly because my regular place wasn't available for a while and I needed them done for an event. I got bio gel fill with a simple white white color with Mimi. She did a FANTASTIC job! I am so picky with my nails and she did it all to perfection. The shape, the way she did the bio gel nice and smooth and the polish job! HIGHLY recommend her! The environment is different from typical salons I've been too. There is a male receptionist who greets you and asks you to sign in. Then your nail tech comes to get you and if you're not getting a pedicure you go to the left room which almost looks like a restaurant, reminded me of the old Johnny's Rockets with the booth style. If I could do zero stars I would. The worst experience of my life and this is coming from a 54-year-old woman. Two of the ladies that I worked with were very unprofessional not polite have no patience and it seems like they don't even know what they are doing and on top of that talking in their own language between them when the other ones that work there are looking at you right after. Zero understanding for something so simple as acrylic nails and basic shape. Switched me from one person to the other and did not really know how to deal with a simple basic situation for a new client. This was so shocking and overwhelming and something I never had to go through in my life. The manager did not even apologize or said he will be fixing it for me and did not feel bad in any way for this horrible experience. Never in my life I had to leave a place when I'm halfway done and leaving with bare nails after wasting a lot of precious time that I didn't have. Second lady was trying to twist everything I said and put it on me(probably because of the cameras around) when she did not even know how to fix the horrible and ridiculous shape that she did and only because I asked not round and not too square and she did not even have the basic knowledge to do something simple like that as I easily used to get in my old place and same shape I came with. There's not enough time or words to describe what I went through first time ever with such a bad experience as I never had in any of the places that I've seen until today where I lived. Very disappointing realizing that just any person and just any place can do nails when they do not even have the basic experience or knowledge and not even minimum respect to customers. I've given this spot lots of chances after telling myself I wouldn't go back. Today was the last one. The last one should've been the last! I paid for callus removal and I really think the girl did the whole thing wrong. My feet peeled for a whole week. Which has never happened! Anyway. Back to today. To pay $42 for my pedi when it took the girl 20 min max (15 being the massage) to get it done my pedi done was ridiculously fast. She BARELY did any cuticle care or nail care at all. Anyway that's beside the point. My daughter got a kids mani pedi, the first payment quote they gave me said it was $27. It fell on the floor got wet so they rewrote it for me, now quoting me $30 for her mani/pedi. I asked why she changed the price and they said she was giving me a discount but then got nervous because she didn't want to get in trouble...ummm ok?? I know it's only $3 but it's just the principle. I've been going to Olivia's for over 5 years now and it's progressively gotten worse. To pay so much and get mediocre service is insulting af. Had a great experience with Huy for gel mani and I think Lily for Gel Pedicure. They were both super careful with my nails since I told Huy that I'm a diabetic and please be-careful. I've been coming here over the years and it has gotten worse each time. Today I got a pedicure and the end result looks fine but the whole process was horrible. I can look past most things but not cleanliness. The towels were so dirty and stained, they used old/used toe separators that she had sitting on her cart and then after me she stuck them back in the same bin, the tools did not come out of a sterilized pack, I watched the tub being cleaned after the girl next to me left and it was wiped quickly with a used yellow sponge and rinsed once. I'm a nurse and can't believe it when I see things not properly cleaned and sterilized. There were more issues during my pedicure but the cleanliness is really the main issue. read more

Update: For this visit I had an appointment for a mani pedi and asked for a clean black tip French manicure and a single star on my ring finger. They did my pedicure and then told me they were closing. I had an appointment already so I wasn't sure why this was happening, it's not like they didn't know I wanted a manicure. They made me prepay during my pedicure even though I hadn't gotten the manicure yet, which I should have recognized as a major red flag. Then this is what they did. I came home and immediately scrubbed it off. It's embarrassingly horrible. The lady was really nice but goodness, this is unacceptably bad. I used to love going to Olivia's, but my last couple of visits were not great. I got acrylics and pedicure, and the place was not very clean, the cart that contained the tools they were using that were on was not clean. The gel light appliance was dirty too. It has become a factory, trying to get people in and out as quick as possible. Several of my nails cracked or chipped within 1 week and one even came completely off so I went back and they fixed it terribly and hurt my finger in the process. No care is taken to cut cuticles, and I had to ask for lotion and cuticle oil at the end. The prices have just continued to increase $75 for new set and $55 for a full - and the quality decreased dramatically. It won't be coming back again. read more

LITERALLY TERRIBLE... Definitely do not recommend trying this place out. I didn't get the name of the employees who did our nails, but I'm honestly so upset. My sister and I made an appointment for two gel pedicures. I had stopped going to this salon a while back because I was unhappy with their work but never said anything because I'm not the complaining type. I decided to give them another try and even brought my sister. We both HATED our pedicures. I told the technician that the nails were crooked, and she tried fixing them three times but didn't understand where the issue was. She kept filing the wrong side until she finally stood up and saw the nails from my angle, but still couldn't correct them. Despite this, I gave her a tip because I work in the tip industry and get it, but I regret it. When we went to pay, the receptionist asked how it went. We told her we were unhappy, and she apologized, saying we had 7 days to come back and get them fixed. I told her I wouldn't be coming back, and she said "okay" and proceeded to charge us the full amount. We asked if they offered any discount for unhappy customers, but she said she couldn't because her manager wasn't there. She took pictures of our toes to send to her manager but said all she could do was let us know we could come back to get them fixed by another employee. This was completely unacceptable. read more
